  5. should be a oood night, hope to see a heap of folk there and if you cant make tomorrow, come to granite city rocks at the forum to see us on friday!!!
  6. it should be on you tube in next few days too. well, we werent involved in any of the filming until we filmed a wee gig at tunnels for the band footage.so we had no idea what to expect, id imagine callum did get a few stares aye. like i say, i walked through them filming the street chase scene and all I saw was this kid being chased and two policeman so i stopped to look thinking what the fuck , then i realised the policeman was callum and he explained.even when that little incident was happening there was a few folk staring like "eh?" glad people like it and well pass the good feedback on to its maker.he has heaps of ideas for more so keep an eye out. oh jim, no its not 360 tv.its a different company, ill post details of his site when i can.
  7. video thats the first time ive seen it, wierd watching it back.fiunniest thing is that i was walking to work in schuh and walked through the street/ police scene and watched it thinking cool, someones filming something, then calumn (the director and one of the policemen) popped out and said hi. i hate watching/ listening back to stuff so i guess ill have to get over that if its on tinternet but callumns a rally talented guy and hes pieced together stuff really well. all credit to him as hes worked his ass off on it. yeah, with the smart dress(inspired by anchorman) we thought we should make an effort if we were being filmed and although wed only had two hours sleep from being away all week we dont scrub up too bad i think. I know that this version is also only a rough cut and callumn wants to make heaps of changes still or edits (totally above me) but essentially itll be the same i think. also, for anyone confused by the Evening Express article, the video is not for a single! its just a collaboration with callumn to try and do something together and make something cool and maybe raise each others profiles.Weve had heaps of folk thinking we have a single coming out coz EE said so.THEY LIE.We wish we did. Anyway, cheers for positive feedback and after not playing for ages in the deen were playing twice next week.Yay!!! 12. the gun club used to rock so much, god knows why they got rid of it before. all the best to its new beginnings! dont remember it being 6 before but then some bands have higher fees than others hence the higher door fee.e.g when we had the rumblestrips at Dirty Hearts Club the price went from its usual 3 to 5.50 on the door. However, we made tickets available online beforehand at 4 so that people could still get in without paying too much.Maybe the gun club could work that way? People dont mind paying if the music is good methinks, i just payed 35 to see radiohead!but then again it was pretty amazing!

  16. hey peeps, im sure ive posted this all already but oh well, here goes it.Tonights line up is as follows... NEIL MCSWEENEY Hailing from Sheffield, songwriter Neil McSweeney writes, sings and performs all his own material, the very same that makes up his debut album, which was recorded with 'the Gents'; an amorphous group of local musicians who dropped in on the sessions for the record. Live, he appears both solo and with the Gents. The band line-up include members of Sheffield bands Rumpus and Baby Long Legs, Leeds stalwarts Scaramanga Six and ihop, the remix duo responsible for re-working the Long Blondes' single 'Separated by Motorways'. Remember To Smile was released on 15th May. Tracks from the album have been played by Zane Lowe (Radio 1), Phil Jupitus (6 Music), Marc Riley (6 Music) as well as receiving airplay on XFM, Kerrang and several regional stations. www.neilmcsweeney.com www.myspace.com/neilmcsweeney WITH SUPPORT FROM PETE MCCONVILLE local folk / blues with a hint of the electronic PLUS DHC DJs Nick and Steven till 2am 3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2 awesome acts, INDIE ROCKIN ELECTRO DISCO AFTER all for 3 entry see you thursdays FUTURE HIGHLIGHTS include the following bands very soon in your local favourite place to go on thursdays!: O.B.E ATTACK AND DEFEND V FOR VICTORY PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS, THE ROMANCE PLUS ALL THE ACE LOCAL ACTS YOU CAN THINK OF P>S _ check out all snafus events at www.clubsnafu.com

  20. hey peeps DIRTY HEARTS CLUB SPECIAL - 4 band line-up (yes, thats right 4 bands for 4) This weeks musical delights include... COPY HA HO Q WITHOUT U HOUSEHOLD DANANANANAYKROYD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- www.myspace.com/copyhaho www.myspace.com/dananananaykroyd www.myspace.com/inthehousehold www.myspace.com/qwithoutu DHC DJs Nick and Steven till 2am 4 heres the thing.... COPY HA HO - local heroes Copy Haho are a music band from Aberdeen (Shcotland). At the moment, we're finishing off a full length album that is to be released in the comming months by Dundee based Pet Piranha Records. --------------------------------------------------- 7" double A side single on I Fly Spitfires Records available now! Tracklisting; A - Bookshelf / AA - Desert Belle Recorded with Robin Sutherland at Marlee Road (Dundee) and Andy Millar at Chem19 (Glasgow). Additional saxaphone played by Dan Hadden, Cello by Alan Barr. The single is available through I Fly Spitfires [see top 8] and the following independent record shops; Aberdeen, One Up Records Glasgow, Avalanche Edinburgh, Avalanche, Elvis Shakespeare Newcastle, RPM Manchester, Piccadilly Records London, Rough Trade, Pure Groove 'a lo-fi cock tease of a single' - gigwise 'interesting post-punk sound, set in 1981 before any of these young scamps were born and with elements of the Cure, Comsat Angels and Echo & the Bunnymen as reference points' - sound sxp Q WITHOUT U We make new-wavey noises with the occasional burp of electronica. In the last couple of months the band put out "slow clap" as a 7inch single. Jim Gellatly on Xfm has given "Slow Clap" a few spins in the last week and this past Thursday (27th July) Huw Stephens at Radio 1 played and gave a great plug for the single whilst standing in on the Rob da Bank show, which was nice ;-). single review "Not too long ago, with the countrys media fascinated with the small yet ever productive Glasgow music scene (I think it was all because of some band named after someone who got assassinated or something), this single from art-pop types, Q Without U would have had NME hacks spewing forth with gratuitous praise. As it is, Slow Clap sneaks out of Scotland with little fanfare. Over the top on the synths (one sounding like the buzzer from Catchphrase) it may be but it does feature a cool, bouncy, ascending riff like Shes Lost Control by Joy Division; if Manchester had a tropical climate instead of constant drizzle. Theres even a bit of xylophone twinkling away as the song builds to its conclusion neatly, just under three minutes long. Talking of the grim buildings and rain that influenced Ian Curtis and Co. however, these boys are from Glasgow, and therefore well used to grey skies and run down tenement buildings themselves. So suitably the B side, The Face That Launched A Thousand Ships is less of the shiny, happy synths, more of the melancholic Arab Strap-alike guitar pop - with lovely wooshy, Flaming Lips tremolo type sound fizzing away in the background." HOUSEHOLD Since the summer of 2005, Central Scotland based four-piece "Household" have been writing tasty no-wave punk rock. The tunes are driven by tight dynamic drum n' bass, sometimes-noisy-sometimes sweet guitar lines, lo-fi keyboard & synth, analogue tape loops and urgent vocals. Household now have two three-track CDs, both recorded entirely 'in the household', available at all the shows or from inthehousehold.com. Together from across Callander, Doune, and Glasgow, you can expect us to be bringing our live rock action to many many exciting local spots. You can now download some demos in MP3 format from www.inthehousehold.com. The CD is also available to buy online using paypal for 2 pounds (inc. p+p). DANANANANAYKROYD DANA NANA NAYKROYD ..formed from spacks of Multiplies, Michael Dracula, Kill Yourself, Acrnym and Simplestorm. Fight-pop anthems that are as "right-on" as they are "smellin"!!! COME DOWN AND SEE FOR YOURSELF, IVE NO IDEA HOW TO DESCRIBE THEM! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4 awesome acts, INDIE ROCKIN ELECTRO DISCO AFTER all for 4 entry see you thursdays FUTURE HIGHLIGHTS include the following bands very soon in your local favourite place to go on thursdays!: FUTURO POPUP ATTACK AND DEFEND V FOR VICTORY PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS, THE ROMANCE BABY STRANGE, REDWINGS, PLUS ALL THE ACE LOCAL ACTS YOU CAN THINK OF P>S _ check out all snafus events at www.clubsnafu.com
