  1. Thats a really good way to look at it. I was a bit confused about the ending as to how to feel about it but that would really be a clever ending if they had that in mind. Totally stumbled upon this randomly and really liked it. Quite a lot of unanswered questions also as to who is helping Moriarty etc. Ill put a disclaimer on now in case this is really stupid ( i was insanely hungover when watching the third episode) but... One thing i thought of was, once they save the people who have been haplessly strapped to bombs, did nobody think to ask for a description of the person who strapped them up? I didnt notice anyone from the police ask for one and would have helped surely. Begs the question (especially with the amount of snipers at the end also) how many helpers does he have, i take it Moriarty had people do his dirty work for him i.e the bomb strapping. Thought the scene where they initially suggested Watson was Moriarty was very clever but not sure what to make of Moriarty's voice.

  5. Sunday 29th August @ The Lemon Tree APA / The Lemon Tree is proud to present... NEW YORK DOLLS 7.30pm doors 17.50 + booking fee About the New York Dolls: This is what you need to know the New York Dolls were the first and the best, and that hasnt changed. When the Dolls whipped their first long-player on an unsuspecting world in 1973, they were positively terrifying. Next to the Dolls, the other so-called glam boys who clogged the pages of Creem magazine looked like spoiled children who had just toodled home from ballet class. The New York Dolls are just as pretty as they want to be. They walk tall, with or without the platform boots and puffed-up hair. And they can still kick your ass. You better pray for the RocknRoll nurse. Artist Website: New York Dolls TICKETS AVAILABLE FROM: Aberdeen - Find Theatre tickets, dates and venues schedules
  6. Id be lying if I said i wasnt on it but really glad we managed to sort something out.
  7. Sorted. This gig has been moved to the Lemon Tree. Details to follow. Same night/ line up and ticket price.
  8. Gutted if this gets cancelled!! After I left Warehouse, we got asked to open up this show and be the local support. Which we said yes to obviously. Was looking forward to it a lot to say the least.
  9. Id probably wait a couple of days to be honest. If they made the decision today, the staff and contractors would have been of first importance. The only reason were discussing it here or its public so soon is due to facebook/ local interest etc.. so tomorrow id imagine will be when they contact all the promoters/ bands (which im going to offer to help with as i booked 75% of the gigs in) with a decision then being made about re-scheduling / cancellations etc. So unless its a show thats immediate or really soon maybe wait a few days until they sort it out. Hopefully the gigs will be re-arranged elsewhere. Ticketweb wont know until the bands agent or promoter has been contacted and made a decision/ tried to re-arrange. Could take a couple of days.
  10. Too early to say i guess. If you have bought tickets i think the best thing to do would be keep an eye on the website and this forum/ ask one up in a week or so about any shows. Theyre pretty on it at the website and ticketweb are usually pretty quick.
  11. Although i dont work there anymore, ive been informed this is the case. Both establishments are closed with immediate effect. Details will no doubt come out if not already but yes, the cost of soundproofing versus potential profit would appear to be the issue. Noise was an issue for some time when I first started, then it went away. Riley's is under new mgmt and they arent happy at present with noise levels and havent been for a short while. So recently the issue has reared its head again. While i was at the venue, we did everything possible to help the issue - general lowering of levels from DJs, cutting frequencies from the pa's output, reducing bass etc (possiblt not the right termsTaylored Sound would explain much more technically than i ever could!) - and it made a hell of a difference but obviously it would appear not enough without spending a lot of money on soundproofing. Although i dont work there anymore, Im absolutely gutted. Bad news for the staff that work there, punters and our live music circuit to lose a 700 cap venue- it'll be missed -whether your a fan of the venue or not they had some ace gigs that wouldnt have come without that space being available. I've met a lot of good friends through there and saw/ worked with a lot of great bands there too. Plus had some amazing nights DJing. There were some bad times in the middle period between Barfly and Mean Fiddler where it was a terrible time to work there (wont go into it) and a very negative place but people i know worked very hard to make it work and keep it going. I hope all the guys who worked there- venue staff and door staff included -are doing ok.
  12. Thursday was a great night which exemplified exactly what the DHC is about for me - a few good bands including some out of towners with a good boogie after. Ace night.
  13. I know im no Grandmaster Flash but.... Can someone PLEASE post the video of Peter Hook "DJing"? Please!
  14. Me also. I can just see that now... Hi guys, right, ive got a great booking for us..in the style of Ricky Gervais'es Duncan Bannantyne sketch... Me: Do you remember Art Attack? Boss: Aye.. Me: Do you remember the presenter? Boss: Aye Me:Do you like really ropey crap metal? Boss: Aye. Me: Combine the three and we have a sellout....
  15. That is amazing. Does this mean that all this time the chirpy friendly upbeat Art Attack mainman is actually a Dark Lord of Metal and it was all lies?? Id go and see them...and id probably bring my pencil case or heaps of material so we could go out on shiprow and make a picture. I cant listen at my computer but im intriqued. Are they any good at what they do?
