Going to try and be fairly sharp as we want to allow those who dont want to come for the bands to still come and enjoy the club/ party later BUT more importantly we would like to avoid said club people coming in and talking over the headliners set. I think during our set ill maybe make a point of reminding people to shut the fuck up for the next act. Everyone at the gig has full permission to beat anyone who is caught talking loudly/ DOUBLE BEATING if they are doing so with their back to the stage or anyone who is merely chatting at bar not watching). Rants aside... Stage times are looking to be something like this but are subject to change: 8pm DOORS 8.40pm - 9.10pm - JJ BULL + THE DINASOURS 9.25pm - 10.00pm - THE LITTLE KICKS 10.15pm - FRIGHTENED RABBIT (Scott Solo) Ill post up accurate ones near the day but i think this is likely to be the rough timings. May change slightly when I speak to Scott and see how long he wants to play. Curfew is 2am so DHC DJS (me) will be on after until close. If anyone is interested in coming just for the clubnight and not the bands its 4.00 entry from 11.30pm

Sam- not pulled out but we tried to get them LAST year and it never came off so was chuffed to get for this one but alas it isnt to be.... We will be getting a rescheduled date hopefully but as its too early to say were just doing refunds if people dont want to come anymore. I dont expect many refunds to come in though (or hope so anyway!).

Change of headliner: It is our regret to inform you that We Were Promised Jetpacks have had to pull out of the Dirty Hearts Club Birthday Event on the 27th January at Snafu. Unfortunately one of the band members is seriously ill meaning that the band have had to cancel all forthcoming commitments. As a replacement headliner, Frightened Rabbit (Scott solo) will be playing an acoustic set at the event instead. Purchased tickets are still valid for the event and all other details remain the same. Trying to watch it on works terrificly slow wireless! At the moment ive got as far as your name and its now bufferring (has been for about 10 minutes!) but i am determined to watch it even if it takes me a day i short bursts. Im sure it will be a good watch so good work buddy.

hi guys, I recently realised that my list of local band contact details is somewhat needing an update. Further to that, id say my knowledge of local stuff has admittedly lacked a little lately when thinking away from the usual suspects. I havent been able to go to as many gigs of late and its something i aim to rectify in 2011. For my bookings - the bigger gigs at the Lemon Tree with the touring bands have so much kit or large setups I only usually end up booking accoustic supports at their request or reliable bands I know that have full backline / can play at fairly short notice as a tour support has pulled out or the band asks for support a week before a show. And at Dirty Hearts Club we have been doing slightly less bands (fortnightly) due to the current climate of people going out later and the night not always being supported early doors. However, my excuses aside - id like to get back to having an accurate list of contacts and i made a resolution to check out more gigs in 2011 with particularly looking at local bands - so i thought id maybe start a thread here.. I started emailing some bands on myspace but then realised that its pretty much a redundant format now and nobody seems to check their inbox and i know some of the details i have are wrong for the ones i do have. So i thought maybe start a thread here and all the bands who use this forum could post their band name/ email contact - that way the thread would benefit both myself in updating my list but also people in other bands could check back here and get details for each others similar bands when organising nights etc or looking to build bills etc. I dont know, was just an idea and maybe it wont work or ill get accused of being lazy but thats not the intention- i guess im thinking kinda like the old AUBL board which had a directory on it which people could use to contact each other but in a thread - all helps build a wee scene i thought...
