  1. Signature equipment is a rip off. You pay to have someone's "autographh" emblazened on a guitar that is a copy of a one off, made specifically for them. No way am I ever giong to play a signature guitar until Warwick build me an Andy ET bass madde to my specifications!! You generally get what you pay for, though. No way is a 350 Ibanez going to be made to the same high standards as a 800 Prestige model.....
  2. I've a 1984 Tokai strat, and it is every bit as nice, if not nicer than any Fender I've played....
  3. I think what sounds cool is when you drill holes in cymbals, and put a bunch of rivets in them:band:
  4. I'd get someone to take a look at it for you. You don't want to waste money relpacing the valves if that's not where the problem lies. I'm with Rob on this one, send it to Marshall.
  5. It's fine to play sitting down.....
  6. If you are not too sure, I'd be getting someone who knows what to do. I'd be worried about fucking the new valves, or worse the nice amp you have.....
  7. 8. Ha ha!! Subsistence recieve their first nomination after we split!!
  9. I've got a Project turntable too. Sounds better than my CD player.....
  10. Yeah, I was going to suggest that if you were after a Warwick on your budget look at the Rockbass series. As above though, I'd be saving for a more expesive bass and goign down the second hand route.....
  11. Pretty much agree with what G says. Also, let the valves cool down before moving it after a gig or what ever. I have a vintage Fender valve bass amp, and it's not given me a moments trouble......
  12. I use an American bass amp and I have a transformer if you are really struggling....
  13. BC Rich guitars are fucking horrible. They should all be melted done, burned and buried.
  14. He also used an Ibanez Tubescreaner, the amps cranked up to 10 and the volume backed right off on his guitar. There was also the magic in his fingers......
  15. Ritchie Wolffe and I came back from R&B with a Moog one day about 8 yrs ago.......
  16. Basically, my EQ pedal is fucked, and I thought about one of these things mainly as an EQ type of thing. I doubt that R&B or Bruce Millars will have either in stock to try out, and I really want the rack mounts for a bit more ruggedness. My concern is that the Behringer seems to be too much box for too little money, and was wondering where the trade off was?.....
  17. Anybody used one of these? Is it any good? Would I be better off going for the rack mount Bass Pod?
  18. It doesn't have to be expensive, or difficult to carry around. I built my pedal board from a piece od laminate flooring covered in stickyback velcro. In all the total cost was about 50(power block, velcro flight case and patch leads), but now I have a set up that you can lift straight out of the case, plug in and play. No messing around setting up stuff. The dials on the pedals never get changed as the don't get knocked, and they are well protected for when travelling.
  19. I have the Zoom one. Never use it as it's far too noisy in-line. Go for individual pedals....
  20. Agreed about small amps sounding good. I used a 20w 1x12 Marshall valve combo live and it sounded fantastic. The guitar player in Coriolis used to use a Mesa Boogie Subway Rocket - tiny little amp that looked like a practise amp, but by god didi it sound the business.....
  21. I have a Trace Elliot V-type valve amp and it sounds ace. Very different from the transistor ones with the graphic EQs. Very simple amp, with only five controls!!! I was a Warwick man through and through until I got my Stingray. It's now my main stage bass, over the Warwick. I would love a Fender Jazz though. The first bass I used was a Tokai Jazz that had active circuitry fitted, and I wish I still had it. Bah. Bass is a very underestimated instrument. There are so may guitar players that think because they know their way around a fretboard then that makes them a bass player - wrong!! You can spot a guitar player that is playing bass a mile off. Bass players that switch to guitar make better guitar players than guitarists that switch to bass (it that makes any sense!).
