  1. IT WILL BE FUCKING AMAZING. even that weekly NME rag has nice things to say about our split YMSS/Redjetson 12" - "More fine examples of indie with the split 12" of the week featuring Redjetson and Youth Movie Soundtrack Strategies. Essex's Redjetson contribute the blissful 'This City Moans' and 'Divorce'; their forthcoming debut album 'New General Catalogue' is named after a book that maps nearly 8,000 nebula & star clusters and galaxies (yes they're shoegazers). Meanwhile YMSS '...spooks the horse' make Hope Of States look like Jet in the ambition stakes or something..." www.redjetson.co.uk www.ymss.org.uk www.disrecords.com
  2. Uhhhh, prerogative, I did actually see The(e) Unstrung yesterday, at Ocean in Hackney, for a thing called 'Joyfest'. A lot of small London bands are pulling in crowds of 200+ down here at the moment, what with there being a decent 'scene' and all at the moment. I'm sure the Aberdonians will love them. Well, maybe if the bassist ditches his long-sleeved England shirt, they will.
  3. I saw them yesterday. They are the ladrock Libertines.
  4. Not being funny here, but have you actually heard this band or just assuming they'll be good cos they're mates with Doherty?
  5. His new single is a bit of a let-down though.

  9. what's with all the nostalgia at the moment? the boyf phoned me this morning to read out a flyer he found for 'blind youth #10'. cheers. (!) and i was thinking earlier how jim gellatly and i had heckled "PHEEEEEENOOOOOOO" at 'polar bear' at t in the park 1997, and they couldn't make out what the hell we were on about. this year i couldn't get into the tent to heckle 'polar bear' (aka 'snow patrol'). oh and i was at that glasgow gig too and think i may also have my ticket somewhere.
  10. They're playing a 'secret' London gig this Sat. Am annoyed. Can't go. Am at Truck Festival. Actually, that's not so bad. :-P EDIT: Now they're supporting Har Mar Superstar. Right, fuck Truck. :-D
  11. yes. but they're only the support band. so it doesn't matter. sheesh.
  12. Gracious! That's the old old site. How can I access the most recent one (with the fish in the background and a pic of Dogtanian on it for no apparent reason)? It got taken down cos I never dialled up with the ISP again...
  13. www.johnnypanic.com Good band. Have put them on a couple of times. Think the singer shares a flat with Matt from Busted...

  15. bumped, in the offchance. arsing busses. *prepares for 10 hour journey*
  16. If anyone is driving to T in the Park on Sat morning and has space in their car for 2 skint and possibly hungover DiS writers (me being one of them) with one tent and 2 sleeping bags and not much else luggage, would you be able to get us a lift? I really can't be arsed with Citylink shuttle busses. Man, they have the suckiest call centre staff and their website is shit and keeps trying to make me book a single ticket instead of a return. We get up from London to the P&R at Broxden in Perth at 10am, if our coach is on time. Please contact me if you're feeling generous. PS. If you can't help, does anyone know where this park and ride place is in relation to Leonard Street?
  17. i'm too confused to get involved.
  18. Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies and Redjetson tour next month to support the release of a split 12" which is coming out on Drowned In Sound Recordings. Words about Redjetson: Their blistering epic rock has been experienced opening for the likes of Biffy Clyro, Seachange and blasted out at their own Do or Die clubnight at the Arts Caf. Their debut album 'New General Catalogue' is released in September on DiS Recordings. "set to break all perceptions of post-rock being inaccessible and only suited to homicidal sociopaths. If you like your Joy Division, Six by Seven, Mogwai and Radiohead then this is essential" - (this is fake diy.com)
  19. VERY UNIMPRESSED THE SHINS AREN'T PLAYING. There's even a gap in their schedule on their website AND they're playing Oxegen, so why no TITP?!?!?!?!?! Now I'll have to try and get a Belle & Sebastian ticket as they're supporting. Along with bits from the T-Break tent, I'll be trying to see some of these: MAIN STAGE 21.30 23.00 The Darkness 14.35 15.25 Black Eyes Peas 12.35 13.15 Big Brovaz NME STAGE 21.30 22.45 Muse 20.10 20.55 The Libertines 17.35 18.20 Keane 15.15 15.50 British Sea Power 14.20 14.50 The Zutons 13.25 13.55 Dogs Die In Hot Cars KING TUT'S WAH-WAH TENT 18.20 19.20 Ash 12.30 13.00 Mohair X-TENT 19.15 19.45 Ben Kweller 15.35 16.05 Republic of Loose 14.40 15.10 The Crimea 12.50 13.20 The Departure SUNDAY MAIN STAGE 21.30 22.45 The Strokes 19.50 21.00 Pixies 17.10 18.00 PJ Harvey 14.40 15.25 Franz Ferdinand 13.30 14.10 Scissor Sisters NME STAGE 16.15 17.00 The Rapture 15.15 15.50 The Killers 14.20 14.50 Stellastarr* 13.25 13.55 Razorlight 12.30 13.00 The Cribs KING TUT'S WAH-WAH TENT 20.10 21.25 Orbital 18.55 19.40 Electric Six X-TENT 20.20 21.00 Hope Of The States 19.25 19.55 Sons & Daughters 12.05 12.30 Colour Of Fire And, as usual, I will not be setting foot in the Slam tent.
