  1. Currently there is a residency in there and I believe a programme is in place so no go. There aren't many/any spontaneous galleries in Aberdeen, or anywhere else for that mater. All recognised spaces require written applications of some description well in advance of the date needed. Not to say you cant ask a friendly local landlord or property owner.
  2. Doesn't even matter if your in time more often than not too.
  3. Your giving drummers a worse name. Hush up and sell a few toms
  4. You are referring to the latter part of my post yes? The first bit is an attempt at taking the piss out precious drum heads.
  5. Minus 20 minutes i.e. not getting to play coz the drummer was twatting about.
  6. This is indeed at times a very funny thread. If it sounds good, you can adjust to your own preference of set up, near enough and folks that run the venue help heaps then its a win win situation? Any drummer turning up with his/her own kit to The Moorings should be allowed to take the house kit down, set up own kit, not get EQ'd differently from house kit, take down own kit and re set house kit. All of this within alloted set time. The rest of the band may have something to say about the minus 20minutes gig they get to not play! Personally I would prefer to use my own kit at The Tunnels, and share it, as the house one is a little ragged around the edges, or was the last time I tried to use it.
  7. As I say I don't know what they consider a public space, not a private play though but there will be a definition for you to read somewhere. Ask them.
  8. And then, if recordings are being made and produced the MCPS collect a royalty, on your behalf, for every copy made. Unless you have wee get of jail free clause for the small local label that cant afford the royalty. Its all good stuff and contrary to popular belief, weighted toward the musician.
  9. 1 minute of daytime airplay on a national radio station earns around 18.50 1 min of tv play is around 24 Do the math. The View will be doing not too bad even after all the deductions for advances, label cut, managerial percentage etc etc. Playing the one gig at the Lemon tree can earn 30ish. Add that to the fee for the gig... ching(ish) Have to pay the tax man through:swearing:
  10. Tiz odd indeed. Royalties from even a small amount of success through gigging and the odd airplay can mount up in no time. And the PRS now allow you to join for 10 with the rest of their fee found from your initial royalties payments There are one or two folk in Aberdeen that could be earning a nice little additional income if only they were members of said org! Where does this income come from? Hmmmmmmm
  11. Or, a band or artist write songs (product) and the PRS collect royalties on their behalf for any public plays of said songs (product) belonging to the artist. They are maybe tightening up in order to provide the PRS members with the money that is owed to them. Im not sure of their definition of a public space and its will be a tricky argument either way. I had my run ins with them at Drakes but in hindsight it was all fair enough.
  12. That's not music though. That's audio graffiti and they should get charged by the bobbies!
  13. PRS collect that money and MCPS collect money for the copying and producing of recordings hence the Mechanical Copyright thing. Cloud, PRS is a not for profit org and the money is filtered down through and to all members. There used to be a time when the big royalty earners received a disproportionate share but this has changed in the last several years. PRS have recently made it easier to join and also easier to get your due royalties if your a member through easy online registration of gigs in non performance registered venues such as Cafe Drummond and the Tunnels. I do hope you never get into music management.o_O
  14. Cant be guilty of that yesterday I would say. Smeltic came out of the starting block at 100mph after half time but were held firm by a solid defence. I do think it was little of instinctive return to form but Clangers grabbed the ball from Seve, I think, and told them to get the fuck up the pitch. He seemed well in control of his box yesterday and commanded the defensive line well at their set pieces. In a stroke of good fortune or genius he pulled Foster off the front post to go to the back post after moving someone out to man mark. Foster then cleared off the line. Here's us all thinking Clangers is a step or two short of a staircase. Mans clearly a footballing genius! And what was Strachan's celebration all about? Running halfway onto the pitch and jumping about like a twat! He's a self righteous, smug, I'm better than everyone, arsewipe. Very amusing given the final score... Anyone else say the pitch isn't looking to bad for this point in the season. 'Evil pitch, bad pitch, cheating todders pitch!!!! Now where's my wee green minky toy that fell out of my pram?'
  15. I heard that they are to play that famous incidental music as everyone at his funeral slowly file past his coffin to show their last respects and drawings of the moment. Loved his big giant speeded up drawings. Vision On and the trippy Kangeroo thingy Ahhh, they just don't make them like that or him anymore
  16. When I go back to COD 4 I must that it is like meeting with an old friend you were very fond of and are very glad to meet again. I do prefer it but for some reason I am a tad better in WoW. On average an extra 3/4 kills per game, which ain't saying much. I manage to call in the dogs if I get a tank with the latency favouring me. I have taken a liking to the Garand (trying to get the scope) at the moment, with double Frag and other stuff I forget. The quiet boots are cunning. I picture my guy running about with big duvets wrapped around his feet. Played co-op with my boy yesterday utilising a death card or two. Head shots made the downed, Zombiesque, bad guy explode. Made for less random shooting and more aiming just for the sheer hell of a kaboom!
  17. Does that mean you prefer COD 4 or 5?
  18. Musta been a different first half from the one i was watching. Don's were at them from the whistle and had created a few chances before the ball even made into their own half. Cracking game. After a shit first half to the season it looks like we are going to get a belter of second half!
  19. Pain in the ass and I dont see the point. 'ooooh, I'll rank up heaps by cheating'. I fire in a complaint and then leave any game where it seems bad. You would think they would fix these bugs. Its putting me off of the game... Noticed a glitch in Seelow as well. Beside the house at the top left as you look up hill from the bridge. Makes me want to stamp on their spotty little faces
  20. hahahaha If only. Bri, Can we can we can we can we? That said no one would hear Andy and me!
  21. In light of the Fudge awards. TTA have decided to award themselves the 'Best New Old Guys Award' that we made up. We were going to take the award for 'Perseverance' but felt that was rightfully Eric Eaun's
  22. Then evolve into Fat Boy Slim?
