  1. this was fairly awesome i'm not going to go as far as awwwwweeeeesome i enjoyed the music though yes apart from that eminem cover though, no no no no no!
  2. i used to work in paramount
  3. i dreamt/hallucinated phillip had kids once when i crashed at his old place they weren't cute or red-headed though, kinda looked more like
  4. barberos completely defied my expectations. was thinking they'd be like boredoms, more like "come to daddy"-style aphex twin, performed live. amazing. really hope they'll come up again at longer notice, to entice the audience they deserve. mr peppermint were as just as great as they were back at cellar, with the added bonus of fraggle rock (animated) visuals. i forgot that show existed! i'm happy.
  5. i'll do it. we never got to record any beautiful music together those times we bashed out some tunes, contributing my rich, sensuous baritone to a recording project of yrs would be the next best thing i suppose...
  6. i am absolutely sure this isn't true there's yr band and then a profile with yr real name and a pic too i saw it, unless i dreamt it
  7. so this is happening now, THIS TUESDAY in drummonds i really hope i can make it along after work, both bands are fucking mint Barberos Mr Peppermint
  8. yeah, i think hen's putting it on funnily enough, i too would like to know stage times because i would like to see barberos but am working until 10pm, for the same employers as you 8o
  9. In case anyone is interested, Mr Peppermint are away to start a tour with Liverpool's Barberos this week. They are also desperately trying to fill a date on the tour in north/north-east scotland, details here
  10. BARBEROS - multiple drummers, live visuals, synth-noise n stuff. also SPANDEX. MR PEPPERMINT - guitarist/drummer, spacey, reverby ruckus w/ pounding beats. These two bands are about to start a UK tour this week. Problem is they can't seem to find anywhere in the north-east of Scotland on the 23rd FEB, that's THIS TUESDAY. Yes, incredibly short notice. I think these guys are aware of that though, they are really keen just to play somewhere and will listen to any offers. Thought I'd post this here just to see if I could find anyone, anywhere in the north/north-east willing to arrange some sort of show on that date. The bands contact details and audio can be found via their myspaces, linked to above.
  11. i really liked islet, they reminded me of HEALTH and liars. i would've probably enjoyed that second band if i'd been really drunk at a "rock" night at like the moorings or some such. they weren't doing much for me in tonight's context though. i thought los campesinos were pleasant enough. i stuck aroung til the end at least. don't think i was into it as much as the majority of the crowd. i'm starting to feel old.
  12. last night went tremendously, TREE-MEN-DOUS. mega-chuffed with the turn-out, thanks to everyone who came down. y change, mr p and carson wells were all great in their own ways. was stuck at the back for y change, couldn't really see them but they sounded as tight as i've ever heard them noticed a fair few people getting into their set. was pretty blown away by the contrast between the subtleties of the peppermint record and the FULL-ON CLUSTERFUCK of noise in their live performance. as usual, i felt almost exhausted trying to keep up with carson w's time-changes and shifts and whatnot, i wish i was half as dexterous as those dudes. huw doesn't know how to wear a hat though. min diesel were just riddick.
  13. tentatively: 8.30-9pm - min diesel 9.15-9.45pm - y change costume 10-10.30pm - mr peppermint 10.45-11.15pm - carson wells tentatively
  14. you could get it done sideways, encircling the shaft, to avoid that dilemma
  15. i think cellar 35 have a regular blues night on saturdays i might be wrong
