  1. deadenstereo may be available. I'll check with the guys.
  2. I'm selling my pink Charvel tele, since I got a new Les Paul It's a model 7, made in Japan. 250, or trade for a closed back cab or rack processor It's a very nice light guitar to play, and the neck is quite thin and flat. It has jumbo frets on it, and is a bit of a monster for pulling of pinch harmonics! I fitted a Kent Armstrong Hot Rails in the bridge, and have left the jackson j-120 single coil in the neck. I'll throw in the original bridge single coil too. As seen on stages across Scotland, and once used by Luke from Starfall - I have a photo! It's a bit gay I know, but is actually kind of cool. Guys - girls like it for some reason. I've had chicks come up to me after gigs to ask about it - no shit. Craig p.s. - you get 6 strings, one is broke in the pic, but is back on now.....
  3. Yeah, the chorus is a bit muddy. But it was a cheap "new engineer" recording deal. As for a cd, there are some in OneUp Craig
  4. yeah, I had a good idea for increasing the power, so to speak. Gonna go to the scrappies and get some old busted headlights, and put the reflectors from them inside the cab Craig
  5. I wasn't gonna plug it in to the same stuff as my amp - don't trust my wiring skills that much! I doubt it'll have much affect on stuff like that, as these are the baby strobes you get for a tenner
  6. Dunno if anyone has ever seen my crazy red speaker box I made. It's a homemade 1x12" open back job, made from plywood and sprayed red. Well, I decided that I might as well make it cool if it's gonna look shit. But first I needed the contraption, which I consturcted today This was a mains plug with a cable. This cable then goes to a light switch. From the other side of the light switch comes a cable, and this has two mains sockets on the end (where you'd plug in a plug...) But why I hear you ask? Well, I drilled holes all round the outside of the speaker cabinet. Then I stuck a mini strobe inside. The lightswitch allows it to be turned on and off on stage, as a footpedal. No pics just now, but it looks cool. Kind of needs a seoond one, to spread the light out a bit, but that's why I used a double mains socket. Looks like I'm gonna be the coolest guy on stage next time I play. Craig
  7. Down with the Sickness [disturbed] by Richard cheese. Genius
  8. you should check out guitar guitar in Edinburgh - a new shop but very cool. Has Engl Budda VHT etc. A lot of metal people like ENGL. They have loasd of mesa as well (dunno how well they sell - being out of most people's price range). Tech 21 are another cool company who make amps. Line 6 amps are probably good sellers too. Just a few ideas Craig
  9. yeah, the backline sound at that gig was pretty immense. Overwhelmed the PA though.
  10. One of the songs on your sampler reminded me of 5150 a bit. I think it was the third song. craig
  11. ha ha. I couldn't really afford to lose any money, so just put the initial price at the minimum I'd be happy with. The new amp I'm getting was 400. Plus I have ways and means of getting shipping for a lot less than 25 (good to have friends who work in the guitar shop) I did expect a few more bids, cos it was a cracking amp and the new box for it was smart. But, no biggie. Craig
  12. I have a pink sparkly guitar that may be up for sale soon.... Plus, the Epi Thunderbird is a bit of a beast. The similalrly priced Fender (mex series) play and sound better. Our bassist got a Thunderbird though, just cos they are cool. Anyway, he says the Thunderbird can be a bit akward and is weighted funny at the neck so you strain your left arm if you're playing on stage. And he's a 6ft+ guy (although a bit of a pussy). So, they might not be a good idea for a girl. I'd recommend a Squire, since you still don't know if you're gonna stick with it. A squier wil be fine for the first couple of years you play, maybe then you'll want to move up a level to something more expensive. I have no experience with ibanez basses though. Stay away from the Tanglewood Rebel basses - utter beasts. Craig
  13. Yeah - they just have a "crunch". I just put a depsoit on an Engl amp head - 3 channel thing. Supposedly they are very popular for death metal and stuff, so it probably has a decent amount of gain. Craig
  14. yeah, was a spiffing weekend. Come to think of it, I don't even remember Degrassi's set. Darn binge drinking. Craig
  15. I thought they were re-issues of older amps from the 60s etc, non master volume ones? Thos old marshalls didn't have much gain - they were basically fender circuits. Even my 70s MV JMP didn't have that much gain, even on 10.
  16. the 50w dsl sounds a lot better than the 401 combo - more balls to it.
  17. nah, they are too low gain. Fro a cheaper option - look to the Laney valve heads the V or G series one. Supposedly very good two channel heads. Craig
  18. Here ya go.... Can't find the Idlewild/Sandy Denny cover, but did dig up another one... deadenstereo - Teenage Kicks deadenstereo - Where Is My Mind? Both are around 1.5 MB Craig
  19. As far as starfall go, I'm not normally into vulture raping death metal orchestra, but they are good at what they do. Hey Cat, how's it going? Enjoy your tour? - hope the rest was busier than Edinburgh! Craig
  20. Any dealings we have had with Dave have been fine, and he has also tried to be fair over money with us, both with Starfall and when he was at Aberdeen union. PLus, I get on quite well with the chap.... Craig
  21. i'm in the middle of some computer upgrades and so on. will put them on net and give you links
  22. we could give you a live verison of deadenstereo covering "teenage kicks", or doing an old Sandy Denny song called "It'll take a long time", acoustically.
  23. Much Thanks We're always glad to hear it when someone likes the songs - makes all the hassles of being in a band seem worth it. PM me your e-mail address and I'll put you on our mailing list if you'd like. Craig
  24. well, where about do the strings break? If they always break at teh bridge, try greasing her up! I put vaseline on my bridge saddles. More proffesional would be graphite or something. Maybe rub them with a pencil. Same goes for the nut. Although it may be too tight for the 10s. You can try these, but I'd probably recommend getting a proper set up done on it. Craig
  25. Apart from our first live gig, and a constructive criticism from Ian Simpson for our very first demo, all our reviews are like that, believe it or not. Craig
