  1. Tokai Love Rock - quilted top sunburst thing. Mesa Boogie F-50 Very old and battered Marshall greenback 4x12" Matamp 1x12" in burgundy (in the post to me just now) Big Muff Line 6 Delay Modeller Boss Pedal Tuner Crybaby wah wah e-bow
  2. pretty derivative heavy screaming rock if you ask me. not exactly ground breaking, and definitely not worth the hype. Turner calls it like Turner sees it.
  3. The new Queens album is really good. More like their earlier stuff than Songs for the Deaf. The opener is an acoustic thing with Mark Lanegan singing - it's rather spooky. The album is out there if you make an effort to find it.
  4. what's the deal with getting in? do you need student ID? How much? But I may make a sly appearance.
  5. For us it is one day of mixing, andoneday of tracking per song. We don't do one song a day like that, but this includes time going back to do overdubs and re-mixing things we don't like. But then, our stuff sounds good.
  6. all places that play recorded or live music (bars, shops, gyms etc) must pay a fee to something like the mrcap or something like that. pretty standard.
  7. I nearly got a Triamp head for $900 US but the guy pussied out on shipping it to Florida for me to pickup. Would have been deal of the century.
  8. We sit around, have a beer, go out and get some food, and watch the other band's soundchecks to see if we're gonna get blown off stage. We also nip out to the off-license to get some drink before 10pm as we generally can't afford to drink in the venues. At home town gigs, somebody generally has to go meet their girlfriend or something, or a bunch of our mates come down and speak to us. I generally find that the last thing I want to do either in the hour before, or 15 minutes after a gig, is speak to anyone. And if there's dope around, a toke after the set works wonders.
  9. Here's a deadenstereo picture. I have no idea how to pass it on to Rob from Mosholu, so can someone send it to him?
  10. Heads up faggots! since deadenstereo have split, we shall not be attending. However, Craig Cuntkicker and Chris Chaos will be making an appearance at the Fudge Packing Awards, bringing their own brand of siamese twin speed metal to Aberdeen, as it turns out their other engagements have been cancelled. Not on the list I hear you cry? Metal in your asses mutherfuckers - these two demons of all out metal BREWTALITY don't give a fuck.
  11. He's sold it. My opinion of the amp is that the drive channel was not created for rock, but more for blues. Even with the power amp cranked it still didn't deliver the sonic goods. Personally, I'd skip it and get something else. You'd need a good pedal to get the rock out of it. The clean channel, however, is very very nice.
  12. Nah, much as I'd love to I'm going to see Electric Eel Shock at The Venue in the Edinbronx. Only my triumphant elevation to the pantheon of the crowned gods of guitar wil tear me away form the spectacel of a man in his underpants mispronouncing "wock 'n ' woll will save the world". Craig
  13. Briza - I said we'd be there if we win, but a trip all the way to Aberdeen to watch some Michael Jackson tribute band walk away with OUR Best Int'l Act award would just be too much for our fragile minds to take. Craig
  14. Fuel - Metallica's Reload album Gimme fuel, gimme fire, give me that which I desire - durrn durnn durrn durn, durn durn!!!!!!!
  15. My 1970s OR80 on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7300086520&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
  16. where did you get the case, and what model is it? Our bassist is looking for one, as his T-Bird is getting beat to shit
  17. I concur. Maxi - When you playing Teviot? That's the Student Union in Edinburgh. There's been quite a few bands playing there recently. If it's downstairs, it's a pretty cool venue. I'll def come along and see you guys. Oh yeah, forget about that March thing, we're not ready. April/May might be good though.
  18. I've played both the Powerball and the Mesa straight after each other, through their respective cabs. I thought the Powerball ws nicer - more control over sounds and less muddy. Plus, the stack for that is 1500 - less than the mesa head. Guitar Guitar in Edinburgh have both stacks, and a insulated room in which you can try them out.
  19. Engl Thunder, smokes the DSL or TSL, has three channelsand comes in a little cheaper. Sounds good at all volumes. Trust me, I've played a lot of amps. Craig

  21. I can't play for shit when drunk. But after a joint, I'm rocking. A lot of good music has been written by drug users. Apart from Bros.
  22. Baby Tiger do one. Here's an e-mail i got about it. This Thursday (20th) is the second monthly Baby Tiger open mic. Come down! Play a tune! Don't play a tune but tap your foot to someone else's tune! Attempt (hilariously) to play the melodica/shaky egg to someone else's tune! The possibilities are endless.... We'll provide a PA, two mics, a guitar or two and the aforementioned melodica/shaky egg. Anything else, you can bring yourself! Starts at 9pm, and it's free entry. See you there! dunno if they are every week though, think so. check www.baby-tiger.net Craig
