  1. For some reason that makes me laugh - dunno why though. Maybe we could have used that as a bio or something. Who were the other bands on the cd you sent me? I recognise Contra and Jo McCafferty, but don't know the other ones.
  2. Yeah, thanks a lot for them - I'm really pleased! I particularly like the drumming. El Hoggo can have off nights (when he has too much sugar) but he was on it at that gig. If that's pretty much how it sounds out front, then I believe we shall return to the Moorings, in some form or another. I'm actually listening to a live recording of Fath No More doing Everything's Ruined for a radio session and the tracks we have are clearer and less muddy.
  3. Posthumous live mp3s of deadenstereo at the Moorings. http://music.mp3lizard.com/deadenstereo/ Gotta say, Flash & the Moorings sound guys did an awesome job here.
  4. I don't think much of the track. Very derivavitive - I think they need to think harder about their sound. Also, I can't tell if it's because I was listening to it streaming or something, but the recording quality isn't very good. There's too much reverb on the breakdown vocals too. Craig
  5. Sky Valley by Kyuss, Powertrip by Monster Magnet, London Calling, Radiohead's The Bends, Nevermind, Dookie, AiC - Dirt. Not in Chronolgical order, but all influential in how I either listen to, or play, music.
  6. Glasgow blows. I have a bad time every time I go there, and don't start having a good time til I get back to Edinburgh. I'm serious, every time I go there it just pans out bad and I wanna go home, whether it be going to see a gig, playing a gig (always balls), or visiting mates. Boycott Glasgow!
  7. Sluts on Junk split up. I'm now playing in a band called Cuntstabber.
  8. I engineered a gig for them. They are sub par trying to play bluesy rock. Reef piss all over them, and they're shite. Another symptom of decay in the central belt music scene and with music in general. They'll all be back working in supermarkets within a year. They also told me they toured for ages and the record company gave them 1.25 a day to live off. Hey mummy, I'm a rock star
  9. I hope I'm not the only person who is reading this an entirely different way.
  10. I have used both soap and vaseline to good effect for this job. 3 in 1 oil - I have no idea what that woyuld do. Anal lube might be brilliant, but I am yet to try it.
  11. I did philosophy at uni but found metaphysics slightly pointless. Not matter how much you talk about it, there's no right answer, and the act of discussion will have no change on the world. That's why I studied Moral and Political philosophy - it's actually relevant to the real world and can have an appreciable effect, even if only at a personal level Class is over, see you at 9am on monday, and don't forget your homework students! Craig p.s. - oh yeah, bang sluts and rock on!
  12. I was trying to figure something out the other day (which is slightly relevant to why i was pretty nearly deported from America a couple of years ago) If I was 16, and married to my 16 year old wife, and we went to America and stayed in a state with a sexual consent age of 18, would it be illegal for me to fornicate with her? I say this because i had a bit of a thing about a 17 year old French chick. It'd have been legal in my country and hers, but where I was the age of consent was 18. But don't worry shock-merchants - I did not have my evil way with a 17 year old French lass, I just sold alcohol to a bunch of 16 year old kids. Craig I'll tell you all about "Schoolgirl Night" another time. Although my mate (age 23) did score a 15 year old and my other mate's bird in one night a few weeks ago.
  13. Ever heard the song "We're not gonna make it" off of the first POTUSA album? Not that he's an awful singer, but the lyrics are relevant. Woomble's singing is actually alright now I reckon, but sucked balls and licked bumhole in their early years. In fact, I'm very suprised they ever got signed after hearing Queen of the Troubled Teens - it's trash. But hey, once you go below the Tay, the shitier your music - the more "charm" you have.
  14. Craig Cuntkicker says: "Ram some metal in their asses mutherfuckers. If they don't like your shit, haul some gear round to the post office, crank that fucker up and play so hard the fuckers look like they've got the Ebola virus. A true metal god takes shit from noone, especially some bitch." Metal Fury!
  15. Wasn't their breakthrough/debut single a song disparaging of the lifestyles of the rich and famous, yet they're millionaires themselves?
  16. I played a valvetronix 30 amp the other day. Nice Fender Vox and Mesa sounds, but the mid gain Marshall ones weren't so good (although the plexi model was nice on half gain) Definitely usable and very good value for money, but not quite there yet. Will probably be picking one up for piddling with in the flat - My new Orange (with no master volume) is just too damn loud. Craig
  17. Yamaha SG1300T for sale. This is a mid 80's Yamaha SG. All black, with black hardware. Mahogany one piece body with ebony fretboard. 2 humbucking pickups (very good pickups actually) which are coil-tappable with a push/pull switch on the tone control. The T stands for tremelo - it has a Yamaha own floyd style trem bridge on it, however I don't have the locking nuts or the bar for it. The headstock has been cracked, but has been professionally repaired. I had the guitar in a local shop a couple of weeks ago and then tech said it didn't affect the guitar, and that someone had made a good job on the repair. As for condition - I'd call it "gigged", maybe 7.5/10. There are a quite a few dings, and some places were the paint has cracked, however these are on the back or sides of the guitar, and none are very big. From more than about 2 feet it looks fine. It's quite a striking looking guitar and pretty rare. Reviews Here Pics: Here's the crack in the headstock: This song was recorded with the guitar - Axis of Evil The part that comes in at 01:26 was recorded with the coil taps. Looking for 250. Craig
  18. Don't know much about those pickups, however I do know that Kent Armstrong make very good pickups for half the price of seymour duncans. Craig
  19. I'll admit it has taken a while to get all the "cock-rock" posturing out of the way and make it to that stage! I think the Souldrive guitarist's 2 minute "scales and tapping" guitar solo fest on their last song was a little to the other end of the spectrum... The Moorings was a great place to play, and the sound was very good, both on and off stage - something we've found to be pretty rare (no matter where we play). A lot of engineers have trouble with the vocals in our band as Jon doesn't have a particularly loud voice, but the drums and guitars are normally blasting. But then, Jon will start screaming away and the engineer will feel like killing themselves. On that note - the engineer was a pleasant fellow! It's a cool bar too, especially the drink prices for band members. Hardly anywhere pays in beer these days, plus we got petrol money too. Baby Tiger in Edinburgh are the only others who run things like that, and are coincidentily our favourite people to play for in the Edinbronx. We played far better in the Moorings than we did at Mosholu - we were still breaking in the new drummer then. Flash, give us a shout when you get those recordings done - we'd love to hear them! Craig
  20. I'm on it, along with the megadeth gig....
