  1. Bale cast as Bateman was perfect. The film is annoying - and I'm very glad I read the book before watching the film because I may have avoided the book after seeing the film. I see the book as quite funny, satire on a specific generation of NYC yuppies. The film is just about an American dude who is a psycho. My call on the ending is number 1 above, which is also a little annoying but the best fit for me/my interpretation of the book. I'm no expert on literature, but I think it's all the layering and the fact it IS open to interpretation on various levels of the layers that makes it so good to read/accessible despite the horrific actual words.
  2. I didn't realise bulldogs were known for kicking people. EVERY DAY IS A SCHOOL DAY as they say.
  3. *FUCK OFF you ugly nut dragon.
  4. If there was ever a few of years of deaths that hammer home my mortality it's the past few years. I guess it's just the age I am now (i.e. old ) that celebrities from 'when I was growing up' are popping off. Grim. I know I'm truly done for when Duncan Shearer goes to score hattricks in heaven.
  5. I just had a sandwich, didn't take a pic though, soz.
  6. A sad day for all of Scottish football.
  7. This is good. 9/10. Absolutely huge game for Leicester at the weekend v Swansea. I think that will go a long way to setting the tone for the remaining games. Spurs obviously have the 'easier' run in, but if Leicester beat Swansea I think they'll end up champions. To be honest, as much as I'd love Leicester to win the league for all the romance, I have a bit of a soft spot for Spurs and it's hugely refreshing that the usual candidates are nowhere near. On that note, how shite are Arsenal? Such bottlers. Wenger is such a prick - just go and spend some money, mate. He's got this reputation for 'bringing through youth', and yes I suppose he does bring them through and give them game time. Shame very few of them actually 'make it' in terms of the truly top level. For every Fabregas there are a hundred Armand Traores. And Walcott? Jesus - a massive prospect absolutely ruined. See also Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
  8. Fresh off a mark-setting 1-0 win at home to Dumbarton in their biggest game of the season. Absolute cunts.
  9. Yeah, sounds like a mentality issue. That will contribute to late goals too! I also use conceding an early goal as an indicator that my tactic is unlikely to work in that game. I generally have two tactics (one is a 4-4-2, one is a 4-3-3) and if my standard 4-3-3 isn't working, or I concede very early I'll just change it. Basically don't be scared to make changes early if it's not working, it's one of the things that heavily contributed to my league win. When you're winning, do you 'go defensive' to try and see it out? That often doesn't work, and invites teams on. I find that changing a formation (i.e. go five at the back) and individual players' mentalities seems to help this, but it's a pain in the arse and it's nearly always Celtic or Dundee Utd, the cunts. I would only ever go to a 'defensive' or 'contain' mentality with less than ten minutes to go, and bear in mind that if you have four players on 'attack' duty and change to 'defensive' overall that's going to fuck them up a bit. You should really not have any player on 'attack' duty if you're playing an overall defensive mentality. For illustration, if you're playing your 4-2-3-1, I would have 'keeper, back four and your holding players on 'defend', change your striker's role to defensive forward or target man (on defend or support as it applies to each), wingers on support and I'd draw your attacking midfielder into the same strata as your holding players and make him on 'support': Also, if you're playing defensively ALWAYS select 'waste time'.
  10. I guess it has to do with the fact that you qualified for the Europa League a year in advance or something? Still weird and kind of cool. "I helped you qualify, now let me help you win the thing." Hero.
  11. Had he returned to play in someone's testimonial by any chance?
  12. I guess when you turn 30 is about the time that everybody that was on TV/radio when you were a child starts to die. It's pretty depressing. AT LEAST NONE OF THEM WERE PAEDOS, EH?
  13. I'm going to crack on with the MLS when my Aberdeen game gets boring.
  14. Great stuff! Some screenshots/stats would be great if you can be arsed. I keep forgetting to screengrab my title winning formation(s), because I only really come on to ab-music at work.
  15. Only in the same way that Craig Gordon looks like that dude from My Chemical Romance.
  16. Will need to dig out a screenshot later.
  17. Okay, a couple of things: 1. Please swap Ash Taylor and Mark Reynolds over (AT is right footed, MR is left footed). I would also personally change Taylor's role to Limited Defender (he excelled for me, and got Wales recognition in this position). 2. Likewise, I'd be tempted to swap Ryan Jack and Kenny McLean, purely from a left/right foot situation. Obviously adapt positions to suit. 3. Do you concede a lot of goals? Having both your full-backs as CWB(A) is very bold. I would probably shift Shinnie to a standard wing back on attack duty and make Logan a full-back on support. If you do this, then you're probably as well leaving Jack and McLean the way they are (to allow for Jack to cover Shinnie's side when he's rampaging forward. 4. You arguably have to many players on 'attack' duty. Try putting both your wingers on 'support' (at the very least Johnny Hayes given Shinnie's 'attack' duty). I find that wingers are more effective with a 'support' duty because they are a) more involved and b) more creative when it comes to setting up a striker. I think thereafter you'll find that your striker scores more goals. If I were you, I'd put both wingers on 'support' and put your AP on 'attack'. In my experience playing an advance playmaker on attack duty will only work with an advanced forward or poacher up-front (any deep-lying position (F9, TM, DLF) seems to just get in their way). 5. Are you getting the most out of your AP? Consider changing him to an attacking midfielder and using player instructions to turn him into a sort-of-AP (more risky passes, etc, etc). 7. Stevie May and Jake Taylor are both excellent signings. Did you say you sold Rooney? He was absolutely brilliant for me in the first couple of seasons. I know you didn't ask for advice, but you got it anyway lol
  18. Cummings is incredible, get him back in January if you can and either play him as an advanced forward with a deep lying playmaker (balls over the top) or in a two upfront alongside a deep-lying forward/target man. Goals galore! Was my top scorer in my title winning season with Aberdeen (third season in).
  19. Is this for Aberdeen/shire events only, or would you travel?
