chemikal underground label owners The Delgados formed in 1994. Taking their name from the famed Spanish cyclist Pedro Delgado, they are individually: Alun Woodward (guitar/ vocals), Emma Pollock (guitar/ vocal), Stewart Henderson (bass) and Paul Savage (drums).

Drawing inspiration from sources ranging from the Incredible String Band to Hamish Imlach, the bands heady brew of off-kilter pop, strings and folk influences was quick to attract a loyal following as well as critical acclaim.

As The Delgados songwriting matured, their arrangements became more precise

and beautiful. On their last two albums in particular, the carefully considered guitar, orchestrated strings and haunting vocals combine to create an overwhelmingly powerful and unmistakably grand style of pop music.

The Delgados are currently writing their fifth album.
