henry's cat
This album by Jake Rollins was just released, it's got some really nice songs on it (also pay-what-you-want is always a bonus!)https://80n7.bandcamp.com/album/spend-a-few-make-a-few
Skacel
2014 is dead, long live 2015! Errors will have a new album out on March 23rd. It will be called 'Lease Of Life'. Here's a song: http://www.thefader.com/2014/12/11/errors-premiere-stuttering-lease-of-life Your turn. I'm not too keen on that one but the new one they've put out, slow rotor, is pretty good. Mr Owl PhD
'Hinterland' by Lonelady is out now. It's easily one of the best albums I've heard in the last few years. Every track is stunning. Woodsinho
New Courtney Barnett in March http://pitchfork.com/news/57868-courtney-barnett-announces-new-album-sometimes-i-sit-and-think-and-sometimes-i-just-sit-shares-pedestrian-at-best-video/ It's pretty good. I'd decided ahead of time that it was the kind of thing that I don't like but now I've listened to it and I guess I sure showed me.

I'd decided ahead of time that it was the kind of thing that I don't like but now I've listened to it and I guess I sure showed me. You got schooled, punk. It's a great record. Elevator Operator is my favourite so far, but openers are always ace.
Alkaline
New Strung Out album is pretty, pretty, pretty good. Riffs? Check. Solos? Check. Palm mutes? Check. Can't go wrong.
Soda Jerk
Man, I haven't heard a Strung Out record since American Paradox. With each record, they seem to up the cheese-metal just a little bit. I think American Paradox was as far as I could go. I'll give the new 'un a spin, and dive right into the deep end of cheese. This is still my favourite song of theirs. THAT solo.

Exhumation of Virginia Madison is definitely my favourite song of theirs.
Soda Jerk
I gave the new 'un a listen. Quite a mixed bag. First three tracks are HUGE.Spanish Days is the best pop song they've ever written.Modern Drugs might be the worst song they've ever done.Nowheresville is totally Twisted By Design. No Apologies sounds like Fall Out Boy. It might need another listen.

I like Black Maps and its decadent Metallica-esque intro/outro. Nowheresville is great, I quite like No Apologies as well. I'd 8/10 it. Paranoid Android
The new Tallest Man On Earth album is out, most comments I've read are a little negative but i love all his work so I'm sure I'll like it even if it's not as good as his other albums. My favourite album of the year so far is certainly the Kendrick Lamar, which has been spoken about in the hip hop thread. Some others I've really enjoyed are the new Father John Misty which I think is a big step up from his debut. The Zenker Brothers and Levon Vincent have both delivered great techno albums as I hoped they would, while the best surprise of the year has been how good the new Bjork album is. Her strongest in a long time. The Logos and Mumdance album deserves a mention too. kirsten
John Darnielle's announced a new Mountain Goats album!Out in April. Now I'm excited. http://pitchfork.com/news/58158-mountain-goats-announce-pro-wrestling-themed-lp-beat-the-champ-share-the-legend-of-chavo-guerrero/ I'm so glad this is good. JD's finally come up with something to rival No Children's "I hope you die, I hope we both die" as Best Live Singalong Line: "I personally will stab you in the eye with a foreign object."Gie it a listen. Someone's put the whole thing on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL38IiaZaCeNiHkrYImIaqq6iVBp8gPUCNWhat else is good, Forum Lads? I have put a few things into my Albums 2015 Spotify playlist that are promising but think I need to play more of. Including: 'Ripe 4 Luv' by Young Guv, 'Fast Moving Clouds' by Sarah Bethe Nelson, 'Universal Coolers' by Radical Dads.

Delboy1969
Heard some of the new tunes by Blur today with Coxon back in the fold and have to confess more than impressed with the results, like they never been away!
kirsten
'Lonesome Street' is the most Blur-sounding song I've heard in a long time! Intrigued to hear the new album. More Superchunk-related loveliness - Mac McCaughan's album is streaming on NPR: http://www.npr.org/2015/04/26/401499426/first-listen-mac-mccaughan-non-believers?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=nprmusic&utm_term=music&utm_content=20150426 Edited April 28, 2015 by kirsten
kirsten
The new Titus Andronicus album sounds insane. Almost thirty tracks and a bunch of them are covers.
