Is anyone else planning to go down south for Download this year? Can't say that I'm enthused by much of the list as it stands but that's ok - half the fun of festivals, for me at least, is in the discovery phase.

  • Black Veil Brides
  • Bowling for Soup

Download is more about the experience anyway (although half decent music is always a bonus). Usually is decent stuff on the smaller stages and they are always the last to be announced.

i can't go to Download due to VIVA at uni being the morning after, and the Sonisphere lineup is 10000000x better so I might go to that this year. I can't wait to go camping again and cooking on a hexi stove is great fun (aside from the colourless flame and the 'is it working yet?' moments)

Compared to Sonisphere, this line up is so pathetic. I mean, Def Leppard only headlined two years ago and dont even appeal to the same kind of crowd the other bands in the bill appeal to, so it just stinks of sheer desperation to me.

Linkin Park too. Donington must be sick of them by now. So, so poor.

More bands announced this morning in the form of VersaEmerge, The Pretty Reckless, Times of Grace, Evile, Suicide Silence, Your Demise and the mighty PUDDLE OF MUDD!!!11!!!!!1!!!

Times of Grace and Evile are the highlights of that bunch for me.

Def Leppard'll be a bit of fun and seeing them will be one extra step of my continuing transition into becoming like my dad.

Out of interest how are you getting there/who are you going with?

I'm going with some mates from down south. So it'll be train to Newcastle followed by packed car to Donnington.

Singing along to She Hates Me was one of the highlights of Leeds Festival 2002. I was 18 at the time so I'm going to allow it.

These days? :D

Looked through the line up and I hardly recognise any of the bands on the bill.

Not my cup of tea but there will no doubt be some kerrang follower who is creaming in his little sisters jeans.

Then again I like music. When a festival is spoken of as a big piss up rather than the music then you can count me out.

Bloodshed festival in Tilburg for me!!
