They're pretty much the best spiky alt-indie-rock band in Scotland right now. They have a place in their hearts for you, Moorings, so show them some love."Miss the Occupier are an indie-punk three-piece who take angular guitar riffs, fuzz them up until they're a suitably deafening din, and set them alongside the sardonic musings of singer Roz Davies. It's like being stomped in the face by The Fall's stroppy younger sister, and enjoying it just a little bit too much for your own good." - The HeraldCombining strong melodies with big choruses, STATIC IN THE CITY draw on a diverse set of influences ranging from The Smiths to Jeff Buckley to Pearl Jam."There's a keen sense of exploration here that one finds in all the stars of tomorrow at their most pure and raw. The Ghost Of Fudge
INCOMING!Fudge present Fudgenight#184: SNAKE TEMPLE KINGS + THE BROWNIES + SAN TOYSATURDAY 13th JUNE @ THE MOORINGS BARIt was about time Aberdeen had a space rock band. . . Formed in late 2006, The Snake Temple Kings came to fill the void in Aberdeen's prog rock market. They take their cuesfrom Hawkwind, Gong, King Crimson, Magma, Ozric tentacles, Steve hillage, Floyd,Tangerine dream, Caravan, Van Der Graff Generator, Faust, Can, Brian Eno, Jah Wobble...So...... What are people saying about the utterly fucking brilliant Brownies?Savage sensuality glued to outrageously energetic, lethally catchy punk-pop coming on like a riot grrrl Ramones. - Q MAGAZINE "The Brownies could be Xerox Girls' attitudinal, imperiously cool nieces and nephews. Brilliantly out of step with current modish indie trends, full of heart-in-mouth moments and a hatred so finely tuned it's almost sexy, Means To An End is a handstand, a cartwheel and a kick in the nuts and it demands your immediate surrender." - THE GUARDIAN"Sexed-up fight pop" - NME "The tag 'pop punk' for one generation at least will always conjure up images of Blink 182 and Sum 41, yet the type of Pop Punk that The Brownies juggle up is far removed from this. It's shouty-faced pop punk that's pocketed Riot Grrrl's bite, and been trapped under an avalanche of glowing pop hooks on the escape. Some bands would bite off their spouses fingers to have one song as good as 'Cougar'; The Brownies deliver an energetic entire set's worth. Norwich may have given us Kaito and Bearsuit, but that city has now given us another batch of delightful ear candy which those missing Be Your Own Pet should get extremely excited about." - ARTROCKER MAGAZINE "Two guys are sandwiched between three girls in the group as they make a measured yet ballsy racket with some absolutely fantastic lyrics." - BEAT SURRENDER Scheme, Floyd, Men At Work, Ozrics, Misty in Roots, Steel Pulse, The Verve, Cinematic Orchestra... they all inspire Glaswegian reggae alt-rockers, San Toy.The Snake Temple Kings on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloadsthe brownies///COUGAR OUT NOW! on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music DownloadsSAN TOY on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music DownloadsFudge - Promoters, DJs and Charlatans on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
