framheim
it's ace. so smooth the way the do that and the songs so jolly too. it frustrates me trying to work out how they've done it though, i'm sure it's something achingly simple. tranzmute
Yeah I agree...the song is very uplifting. it sounds like some kind of brat-pack era tuen. but i could be wrong.
Frosty Jack
It's called 'Out of the picture' by The Robins. The guy in the ad is actually a director of HP who just did it at first as a demonstration of the idea, but they liked him so kept him in. He's a French guy called Francois.http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/hpads/you/photography/index.html#picturebookBit about how they did it -http://www.digitalvideoediting.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=33143

Rach_69
I love those adverts to bits! The older one was ace, with all the cards put up to form a picture of a busy city square and then the peopole start walking
medichi
Y'know, I just spent ten minutes trying to work out what HP Sauce ad you were all on about. Clarity people, CLARITY!
JJ 10 Easy Wishes
but how the fuck do they make the channel 4 adverts where the number 4 appears out of buildings and stuff?!
framheim
but how the fuck do they make the channel 4 adverts where the number 4 appears out of buildings and stuff?!that's just clever angles isn't it? anamorphic perspective i believe it's called. there's a guy who does similar things who my lecturer put me onto called calum colvin: http://www.calumcolvin.com/he projects paintings onto rooms then paints over them so the room becomes this mess of colour except for when you stand one precise spot when it becomes this wonderful painting.those channel 4 adverts are cool though, must take ages to set some of them up as well. PrincessHolly
That link about the digital editing is ace! But it states the song as being "Picture Book" by Ray Davis and the Kinks. Either way, it's awesome.

PrincessHolly
Ahhhh! I liked the one before that with the Cure in it. My goodness HP are lovely. My Daddy used to work for HP you know!
Smooth_groover
Their aftersales service is terrible though.
PrincessHolly
Is it? I don't think I've ever had to use it. Incidentaly, my Daddy was made redundant and has nothing to do with them now. But boy they had nice offices and fancy chairs that I would spin for hours in as a wee one.
