hes getting 80k a week

seriously? shearer used to have a clause in his contact that he had to be the highest paid player in the team so everytime they got a new player and offered them high wages he would get a pay rise, not sure if its in his new contract but if it is he'll be laughing.

yeah assumed that, it was still on his contract last season but they would be silly if it still was, anyway weve went from having only one striker to 3 good ones in the space of a week, cant be bad, still dont think well get 4th, maybe 6th if we hit form

Im happy with the signing but i have such a hate for Greame Souness i just want to see him out. Being an Aberdeen fan also i hated the man before he got the Newcastle job and when he did i reallly wanted to cry.

Sack Souness

he keeps fighting with the players, he got rid of bellamy for personnal reasons, get the bastard sacked

i still think its too early to judge souness, we should be judging him on the players he takes in and how they play and his signings this year have been great, i reckon owen, parker, emre and luque will really help newcastle get back up to where they deserve, obviously im not happy about our recent results but i think we should give souness a few more months

What about Craig Moore, i could seriously kill him for that. We have let too many players go. I think we should have held onto Andy o'Brien and i dont care what anyone else says i love Laurent Robert. I also think Patrick Kluivery never got a realy chance who could have been a star, he is one of the best finishers around. And a move for Andy Johnson would be a good touch i think.

Anyone else hoping Owen does a Stevie G and tells Newcastle where to go at the last minute? Jeez' date=' we've been missing the Messiah, and now he's gonna come back and haunt us! And what do we have to fire back with? Fuckin Peter Crouch. Great.[/quote']

thing is it wouldnt suprise me if he still went to liverpool cos that's where his heart wants to go. if he does sign for the toon then its a good bit of business on souness's part cos it takes away the focus that he's had such a bad start to the season!

According to Sky Sports news, Shearer was so desperate for him to sign that he even offered him his number 10 jersey so I reckon he'll let the wages go.

Just saw part of his Press Confrence and it doesn't sound like he really cares about playin for Newcastle if you ask me. Sounds like he just needs regular first team football. Liverpool didn't want to pay more than they got for him, Newcastle were willing to. Everyone knows he would have loved to have returned to Liverpool, but he would have actually had to fight for his place in the Liverpool side for the first time in his career.

Good signing for Newcastle, but I have this feeling that in another year or two he'll be back in red, where he belongs.
