  1. Thousand thanks Pretty lazy Saturday so I've shoved up a version sans tambourine on my SoundCloud: FOXHUNTING - December (sans tambourine) on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free
  2. NME's completely up his arse but surely for a good reason. May just pop by..

Also, out of curiosity - any origin of your name, there? (I keep reading "caustic mouth", sorry )

Ah, I see. Still, they can be rough and still be a little more in tune. As for the recording quality, yeah, I can understand that - might need to splash out a wee bit on a good mic (mine is about 70 worth from Bruce Millers, with the stand). I don't know, I just liked how it slotted in! The chord progression's nice, too, I mean. But you'll find a lot of the stuff that stands out as good takes you seconds. Not a problem at all, glad you got some use from them.

Just going to say the vocals are quite off-key (for the need of a better word) for a good part of the song and the levels/quality of the recording isn't perfect, but you must know that. (In particular the solo is exceptionally loud to me.) As for the song itself, the solo fits in really nicely, the general feel is ... oddly reminiscent of Hallelujah, but that'll be the chords doing that. Lyrics are pretty nice, too, nothing too stand-out, but the solo's the hook for this song I imagine. Really the main fault are the vocals, in my opinion, but it's a good start. And yes, I feel bad saying this after the kind words in the Kilau topic. ):
  6. Thank you kindly! Just the one wee boy though 8-)
  7. Think he means boring live, not on the record. Which imo is wrong too, but..
  8. Got an 8 track for Christmas two years ago (maybe three now) - after a good two weeks of faffing and manual deciphering I took it back and got a TASCAM instead. I must be a waveform-man or something because Garageband/Audacity was a million times easier.
  9. Yeah, it's from the last album but still a tuuuune and a half even if you're not a hipster.
  10. Oh? Pretty awesome. You've got my email, I think? Drop me a line.
  11. Thanks, means a lot. I have enough for two hours I'd've thought, it's just a lot of it is frankly ancient and I haven't played it since I were 13. But yeah, writing new things would be a thought...
  12. Oh, right. Not clued with the lingo. ):
  13. This. It seems I can project my voice a ton more while playing guitar at the same time.
  14. I use: An acoustic guitar A microphone A TASCAM thing (mic to USB) The back of the acoustic guitar/pringles tins full of coins/smarties tubes/pepsi bottles hitting tambourines for percussion Pishy 90s headphones Garageband on a MacBook Pro ... And the guitar is one take w/edits, the vocals the same, then the drums, then the harmonies. Muted/unmuted as needed.
  15. I wasn't going, but that's incredibly sad to hear. Condolences.
  16. By the way, just got mine yesterday - first impressions are great, really liking No Pasaran, Seas Starry and Huw Garden's tracks, but they're all of a great quality. Good work, guys! Also, Alaaaan, my track's called "December" (sans "drums") ;P
  17. Most modern biographies / photographs are woefully pretentious these days anyway.
  18. Sounds it. Not sure what waltzers are, but I did spend a good amount of time trying to position a groundsheet to cause minimum spinal damage.
  19. Can't give a definite top ten, I'm afraid. ): Los Campesinos! - Romance is Boring National - High Violet Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles (II) These New Puritans - Hidden Arcade Fire - The Suburbs The Villagers - Becoming a Jackal Everything Everything - Man Alive Two Door Cinema Club - Tourist History Vampire Weekend - Contra Three Blind Wolves - The Sound of the Storm
  20. I think it's all a big double-bluff and those three are actually confirmed. It's all so spooooky. Still, tents is the way to go.
