  1. Only 3 weeks until this show. The Ocean have never been to Aberdeen before so please come and give them a warm welcome so they finish their tour telling all their friends how amazing Aberdeen was! Aberdeen needs to have more quality metal bands coming up north. Advance tickets are selling well. If you're not convinced then check out the guys new video for "Roots & Locusts". Roots & Locusts in The Ocean - Daily Dischord
  2. Just a day over a fortnight until this. I was in Tunnels 2 seeing Hounds the other night and looking at the room, this show is going to be off the fucking hook in such an intimate venue. Seriously can't wait. It has the potential to be such a kick ass show. Tickets are still in One Up or can be bought from Daily Dischord
  3. This show was so awesome. The line up was tight as hell. The support bands properly suited the headliner which for a band like Maybeshewill, totally made the whole evening that bit better. I'm properly in love with TheWetflex. They just seem to be improving with every show. One of the next gigs TheWetflex will be playing is one of the shows I'm putting on with Talons. If you enjoyed this show then Talons are right down your street. Check out their Facebook page if you like. Linkage can be found in this post! http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/gigs-event-announcements/64637-talons-%40-cafe-drummonds-7th-june.html
  4. Glad Juffage is still playing. Just got his album through the post from the label today. Excited to give it a blast! Just need to get through one more day of work...
  5. Bought new albums from Thursday, letlive., and Rise Against at One Up the past couple of weeks. Also got a copy of the Xcerts album, finally. I hate keeping shitty promo downloads so it's great to get some albums I really dig when reviewing.
  6. Just under a month until this show. Advance tickets have been selling well but we still have plenty of tickets at One Up and online so grab yours now. Retract The Accolade and Entrosolet also have tickets so if you want to avoid booking charges just get in touch with one of the bands.
  7. We don't have a lot of tickets left at One Up so if you want to get yours in advance, I'd head over there soon. Heights are going to be releasing a new album soon and have just confirmed they'll be playing some new songs off of the record at this show. It's also the first show Grader will be playing in Aberdeen since signing to Thirty Days Of Night Records. AWESOME.
  8. This is going to be an ace show. Just confirmed that INAME will be the second support band, with one more to be confirmed. You can actually stream the bands albums from Spotify now for anyone sitting on the fence. Check it out.
  9. I love what I've heard from Juffage and should be getting his album for review soon. I might well come along to this to see him. Nice one as always Ross.
  10. You're so right mate. I would hate to be at a rock show that was full of twenty somethings standing there watching. I'm one of those twenty somethings but I enjoy seeing a gig where kids are having fun. You're also right in your last sentence. I've noticed that half the people who complain about a lack of good gigs in Aberdeen never actually go to gigs. Lets just let the music scene sort itself then yeah? Silly!
  11. I believe the Japan fundraiser is on tomorrow so I'm going to try get along to some of that to hopefully catch Entrosolet. The event is below if you're a Facebook wanker like myself. Login | Facebook I think Avoid The Morning are playing tonight too but for personal reasons I'll most certainly be giving that a miss!
  12. TheWetflex have been announced as the first support band for this show. You can check out the dudes new EP at the link. TheWETFLEX | Home
  13. Tickets. One Up. NOW. Also, the bands album "Commemorations" is now available on Spotify thanks to Big Scary Monsters. The latest album should be available soon but will keep you posted. Commemorations - Talons - Spotify
  14. Tickets are now in One Up. Go grab some. Grader will be selling tickets too.
  15. Tickets are out now and are selling quite well for a first day. I expect to have them in One Up by Wednesday at the latest.

  17. Cool dude. It should be a great show. They are supposed to be impeccable live (hence why I booked them!).
  18. Tickets are on sale online for this now. Daily Dischord Tickets will be in One Up hopefully Monday afternoon. Support will be confirmed soon. There will be more gigs from Daily Dischord to be announced in the coming week!
  19. Quick question to those in charge. Has this feature in the above post been implemented yet? I created a thread in the Gigs forum, and after that created an event for the calendar. It said in there that the event would be added to the forum automatically which is strange, because what is then the point in allowing people to create a thread in the "Gigs & Events" forum? I'm probably being retarded but just a bit confused as of how it works. Secondly, how often is this moderated for new events? I posted an event more than 24 hours ago now which still hasn't gone live. It's no big deal in this case but I'd imagine for an event which is in the near future, it would be extremely frustrating. It is a bit frustrating however when I see mods for that forum commenting on other posts while my gig still sits in a dark corner!
  20. I'll be there if nothing comes up dude. Sucioperro are a great live band. I'll probably be reviewing it too.
  21. Click the image to buy tickets from TicketWeb, or get them from One Up and local support. Daily Dischord and Big Scary Monsters present... TALONS. Talons | Facebook BSM - Talons Support TBC | Tickets 5 Talons are an instrumental band signed to Big Scary Monsters Records, who call the backwater town of Hereford their home. Forging the explosive energy of hardcore, the subtleties of post-rock and the fractured song structures and complexities associated with math-rock, Talons possess a fascinating sense of urgency and drive, with a sound that both soothes and savages in equal measure. The six-piece are best experienced in a live environment, where the visceral, raw energy of their music can be fully appreciated. So far Talons have had the pleasure of sharing stages with some great bands such as Japandroids, Three Trapped Tigers, Manchester Orchestra, Male Bonding, The Twilight Sad, iForward Russia!, 65 Days of Static, This Town Needs Guns, Future of the Left, Rolo Tomassi, Grammatics, Johnny Foreigner, Frank Turner, and Pulled Apart By Horses.
  22. We talked to the new management a couple of months ago and they said it was going to be closed for a wee while so they could completely revamp the place. Don't know if that is what they are doing now, but could well be the case.
  23. I forgot to mention this but I actually interviewed The Ocean late last year. If you want to check that out I've linked it below. I also reviewed Dead At The Scene's EP which I have also linked. Both are really awesome. There's going to be plenty more exclusives coming up between now and May 25th to support this gig. I'll keep y'all posted. We have some mega stuff in the pipe line! The Ocean Interview | Daily Dischord Dead At The Scene – Sharktopus | Daily Dischord
  24. OK! We have finally got everything confirmed and can finally announce that support comes from Dead At The Scene, Retract The Accolade and Entrosolet! Dead At The Scene | Facebook Retract The Accolade | Facebook Entrosolet | Facebook Click the image to buy tickets from our webstore, or go to One Up! Local bands will also have tickets.
