Trace Elliot specifically wired so that mic leads don't work in them. Behringer DI rigs won't take a standard mic lead, either. Seen lots of blank looks due to silence from both....

Avoid Korean - nonstandard parts sizes mean you cannot upgrade. The Indonesian stuff is well built. The Chinese stuff from 3rd year onward (when they got the logos right) is good. I have a Strat - 2 singles and humbucker. Black, trem, plays great. Like this: Fender Squier Standard HSS Fat Strat (Rosewood fingerboard) in Metallic Black 032-1700-565 Trick is getting it up form Edinburgh. Seems it snowed at some point....

Snare It is a Pearl. 14" x 7". Free floating design. Model plate says "Brass Steel". I can't find any bumf/gen on it, so I have emailed Pearl to dientify age and current equivalent model so we can value the thing. Also have a Yamaha model 5501 steel. 14x5. Perfectly good, but not in the same league as the Pearl.

Pal is pondering shifting his custom shop reissue jr - one of the best LP anythings ever - and I have had many 71/72 fretless wonders and a 'real' 56 custom. It's a peach. He is insane to shift it, but there you go. It will come down to numbers, probably, but if you are considering a jr, this is the one... ...and he isn't greedy. Won't be tyring to get shop money - just won't be lowest street price 'cos it is such a great one. I have asked him to hustle some pics to me.
