  2. Hey, i have a 5 string Samick you can have for £100, its never been used, just needs a battery as it has active pick ups, nice thing

  3. Maybe worth adding, Dave Cherry is a top bloke, ive had some work done on an ancient acoustic i had, he did a fantastic job! Very reasonably priced too!
  4. They are so expensive, and it seems a bit high risk to me. I got some great info off a guy from Offset guitars, theyre really knowledgable and helpful ( ta Jan ) , one of which being heavier guage strings, so thats what i did ( 13's ) and it mysteriously has sorted the problem, for now. Also i gave Dave Cherry ( cherry guitars ) a bell and he wreckoned if i coudnt sort it he'd be able to do so, no problems.
  5. Not looking to join man, but checked out these demo's and have to say, theyre very good, hope you gets going
  6. I would willingly swap this for a decent acoustic, not one of those electro things...and acoustic - acoustic. Thankyou. Please
  7. Clucking bell man!! is that like an open G tuning or something?.......consider it well and truely.....STOLEN! haha ....we likes crazy tunings preciousssss. That said im now a bit more miffed that the Jazzmaster doesnt like drop B
  8. haha! i can imagine, no fenders ive had like low tunings, shame cos they sound amazing.......ah well.
  9. Nah, ive sent a mail to a guy who builds guitars in Cruden bay i think, hes really good... must be a way of getting it right like. cheers for the info man
  10. if i pick the string it buzzes but if i put my finger on the saddle that supports the string it stops, but i guess it could be almost anything as the majority of the assembley is loser than most, obviously with no string on at all.
  11. Ive got 12's on it at the mo, its actually only the bottom E that rattles at all, only thing is.....its pretty severe and seems to have got worse........think im just gonna stick some loctite on the screw and see how it like THEM apples!! ......or just cry
  12. Right, i feared as much, ive had it set up by a few different reputable folks in the past and asked this question as....it kinda doesnt feel right but sounds fuckin ace, and they said that its a guitar, if its set up ok then it'll take any tuning, ah fuck knows haha! just have to put up with it i guess
  13. I bought it second hand by the way, and this was the bridge that was on it, the guy never mentioned he had changed it.
  14. Jan, do you think this is a Mustang Bridge, its the one thats actually on my guitar right now, it looks remarkably similar to the one you posted in you link http://s876.photobucket.com/albums/ab326/fertuiee/ .....photos are crap.
  15. Cheers man, bit pricey for me at this stage, which is coincidentally - wondering if the bridge ive got is actually a mustang one!
  16. Ok, are you using one? if so was it off ebay?
  17. Its a wierd situation where i dont imagine that i'd like another guitars sound anywhere near as much but it is near unplayable as it is, constant zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz haha!
  18. Cheers lads, just as a matter curiosity were the bridges new when you bought them? as in, is there a place you'd recommend online? or just buy a second hand one off ebay?
  19. Just wondered what the difference was, as there has to be one... they just look the same to me. Thats it then, cool. Ta
  20. Hey, cheers for the reply, i use 12's and have its set up regularly, ive heard about these mustang bridges being the answer, so..its a go'er then? sounds very promising this! im wondering how much difference there is aswell? cos looking at it here...doesnt seem to be so much difference, cant argue with popular opinion i guess..........for £20 what can POSSIBLY go wrong!!
  21. Hello there, I play a jazzmaster, i am using some low tunings on it ( drop B, C standard..etc ) this is causing some amount of rattling from the bridge, now i know that some folk would say to tune it like a real person and some people swap them for mustang bridges for this reason, along with the strings slipping off or whatever, i was just wondering if anyone had any contact with this? and im looking at mustang bridges here and i can see very little difference in the 2. Sollutionssssssssssssss......GO!!!
