  1. I Thought i was weird only being able to get two colours on your guitar, like the eclipse model for example. Though the eclipse looks better in red anyway.
  2. Indeed...we have all heard walk by pantera a million times and davidian and master of puppets. What about blood for blood, dyers eve, and suicide note part 2? Much better(or at least less heard) than thier hit counterparts.
  3. Aye, i can see why people arent as keen on the old stuff. it's not quite as straight forward as Slaughter of the soul...though Andy LaRocque's solo on cold was pretty awesome. It didn't compared to the stuff on deaths "individual though patterns" though.
  4. o_O I Like the "red in the sky..." and the "With fear..." albums, "with fear..." is actually my favourite at the gates album. By slayer-era at the gates i mean slaughter of the soul. their previous albums kept my intrest where slaughter did not. after the first two songs i think to myself..."how many songs are they gonna write on one album where they play almost the same riff all the time". it bores me. songs like none divine and raped by the light of christ skin blinded by fear and suicide nation anyday. And yes the first haunted album was (Quite)good.
  5. As far as bands getting shit...they tend to get bored doing the same shit day in, day out. I can see that but... Fear Factory - Soul of a new machine rips my speakers to peices, i don't even think demanufacture compares to it in terms of aggression. Death - They lost a lot of fans becoming more technical and progressive, though individual thought patterns is in my own opinion, chucks best work ever. Machine head - Burn my eyes was excellent, the 2nd album could't compare, then they released pap for years, rob cried for a bit and then wrote a couple of good riffs, then gets album of the year, pah! Testament - The first few albums are sheer brilliance, the later 90's stuff...meh, no comparison. Gorguts - Ripened with age...and no one could understand it. I want to bring some of the better unheard songs to the metal night(mentioned above). Im sick of hearing davidian, walk and entersandman. How about some Death, gorguts, suffocation, soilent green, testament...At the gates(The old stuff, not the "We are slayer" era)?
  6. Should be a good night...hope to see you guys there.
  7. getting back to the question at hand...when you consider the fact that kurt cobain still gets into the top ten guitarists (OF ALL TIME!!!), over-rated does come to mind...there's 12 year olds playing better in guitar shops...and im not taking the piss. Some of the songs on bleach and one or two other ones are about as much as i'll listen to, i think it might be his voice...i'm really not sure.
  8. Yeah i saw you guys at the lemon tree college gig, i liked the riffs and shit but wasn't so keen on the vocals, i think a lower gutteral vocal style would complememt you sound better. Some proper recordings would great...i dont think these live recordings are doing you justice. Good stuff though.
  9. A Friend of mine has a what is called an "afterburner" built into his volume pot. All you have to do is pull on the volume knob and it can increase the sound quite considerably, great for getting solo's to stick out. I Believe it's EMG that make it. They have the tendancy to fuck up after long use though but beats having to carry around another pedal though.
  10. Nirvana were a good band. but i think they are overrated. for every good song they have a bad song...which means half there songs are crap. a bit like neil young.
  11. Dopethrone is one hell of an album "the Wizard...(insert drone here)"
  12. Ace...but what was the benefit of that? poor Bugger.
  13. Just got Deicides self titled album and pick up the Primus DVD. Did it always have an extra CD With unreleased Tracks?
  14. Had Heard gears of war Before and didn't really find it up to scratch. Good song...but nowhere near as good as what dave is capable of pulling out of his bag of tricks. Sleepwalker is very "rust in peace"...Which you've got to love!
  15. A Very Pleasant Piece of Music...love the wildlife sample at the end!
