  1. First of all what is your budget? Personally I'd buy something I know I'd get some money back on later if I had to resell.. So a Martin, a Taylor or a Gibson, next down Yamaha, Takemine ... Tanglewoods are great value for money but you wont get much back for one... they do make some more expensive ones also ..some are swedish built and look gorgeous. but 5 years from now I'm guessing someone in the used market will pay more for a US built guitar. Then there are custom built guitars of course like Moon in Glasgow or others its all down to cost. Personally I love Martin D35s or a Gibson SJ200 ... yummy
  2. Melody Maker Yes thats a cracking guitar ... at that price its a steal !
  3. Yup I had a look after seeing your comment .... the sunburst looked acceptable ! I like to be able to see the wood ! so dont really go for solid colours that can hide the grain ... I'd prefer an SG (no maple neck though) or a melody maker I suppose...
  4. Headstocks! Designing a nice headstock is the most difficult part of guitar design I reckon. We all like symmetry so its really difficult to come up with something original, the Fender Tele is my fav despite its lack (or maybe because of) symmetry. The Martin acoustic is so simple but classy, and the Gibson headstock is elegant ... The worst headstock has to be the Tyler guitars sort of copy of the Strat ... rank rotten.. and all the BC Rich or Dean guitars are all piss poor ... the PRS headstock is OK. The Rickenbaker one is nice ! just my opinions !
  5. minger God that is one horrible looking guitar ... whats up with PRS ? they make some nice guitars... but sometimes they lose the plot ... I prefer an Les Paul anyway so i dont care
  6. Loopers Hi I had the Line 6 looper... JM4 I got it for using with my acoustic... but it turned out to be awful. Its mainly designed for electric guitars I reckon. So you have lots of amp and cab simulations. Its ergonomically badly designed and a pain in the arse to use ... too complex. There was a nearly nice tremelo effect but you couldnt control the depth and speed and mix of that independently ... poor design decisions by the maker... and the manual was PISH. I had the headrush but wasnt using it for looping so cant really comment.. looks like the boss or the digitech will be my next attempt at using looping... unless TC Electronic bring one out...
  7. Long shot for this forum I know but I'm selling my beloved Alfa GT V6 due to too many points on my license so my loss could be your gain. Nice slideshow here of the car: Alfa GT 3.2V6 Its up on E-bay, but I'm open to offers. PM me if interested. Stu
  8. The Promise The Boss's classic album Darkness on the Edge of Town, took over 2 years to write and complete... there were lots of unreleased complete tracks from that time. Finally they get to see the light of day when The Promise is released this month! There are some lavish and expensive option for buying this release... so it will be a christmas present to myself I think. Similar packag eas to the anniversary one for Born to Run, so DVD's etc etc... I'm sure it will be a killer ... Springsteen and Neil Young the two most influential artists of their times ... ? I think so !
  9. Bump this Advertised on E-bay see below: eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace
  10. Bumped! cos its going on E-bay today !
  11. Sold Its gone to a good home !
  12. I had a Headrusher looper ... didnt like it .. the Line 6 works great but is over complex for my needs was thinking about the boss. I have a good quality power supply so the hiss wont be a problem. Could do you a p-ex for the Boss ... The Line 6 is really aimed at electric geeeetars not coostics which is what I want to use it for. Stuart
