  1. Good to see some owl action in last night's Brazil vs Serbia friendly (it's a Burrowing Owl, fo those that like a bit more specificity):
  2. I wonder what Murr's going to say about Italy.
  3. Aren't you making a bit of a straw man of the 'Straw Man Argument' there though?
  4. I'm listening to this really a lot today. I guess you'll spot the Stereolab influence and they also sound a bit like the band Saloon, a band that one of them used to be in:
  5. Was expected unfortunately. Obviously I think they should delay the tournament until he's fit. You can't really call it the World Cup if the world's best player isn't there. And I'm not talking about Zlatan. Anyway, we will still be all about GOALS with Gutierrez and Rodriguez and we will still be WINNING.
  6. Lampard leaving Chelsea, who are apparently interested in Fabregas. Any connection there?
  7. We had a useful warm up against Senegal, but it's a shame that our first half dominance and two-goal lead was pegged back. It was mostly down to managerial tinkering and changing the line up around and so at least Pekerman knows who his best team is. And that's going to be the team that's going to Win
  8. Some 'Up the Arse Corner' action in that incident:
  9. I thought Henderson had a good game, although, as sometimes happened at Liverpool, he looked better once Gerrard wasn't there. Johnson started okay but got much worse. He's not even the best English right-back at Liverpool, so it's kind of strange that he gets in the team. I see Rooney as more of an 'impact substitute' than a starting player. I think that would be the best way to use him, but I'd be astonished if that's what Hodgson actually does.

  11. Given that England are obviously going to play like Liverpool, I fully expect them to score 5 every game. And probably concede 6. Proper entertainment.
  12. As well as being a good player, I think the Lambert transfer is also quite good from an FFP perspective (he's English and hasn't cost that much). Presumably that might also make it easier for Liverpool in any other transfers they do this summer.
  13. Bergkamp, Batistuta and Klose aren't even in the 100.
  14. It's very good and probably better than I thought it would be. I still don't like it as much as 'Epic' but I definitely like it better than 'Tramp'. It's got some undeniably great songs on it and she seems to have developed her style a lot.
  15. I enjoy reading some of the accounts of great World Cup moments they've been putting on the Guardian website. The first World Cup I watched most of was in 1982 and this game has for me been the benchmark for drama ever since: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/may/27/world-cup-25-stunning-moments-patrick-battiston
  16. I think this probably counts as follow-up ridiculous news: http://www.nottinghampost.com/Macaulay-Culkin-booed-stage-pelted-beer-Rock-City/story-21140459-detail/story.html
  17. Not looking promising for Kroos though is it: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/23/toni-kroos-not-signing-manchester-united
  18. Liking those Tirzah tunes quite a bit.
  19. As somebody mentions in the comments to that piece, we'd all much rather be watching this on repeat:
  20. I think we've been through these before, but Big Jan is always worth mentioning.
  21. 1. Just Fontaine (France) 2. 6 3. 1966 4. 1974 5. Mexico, Germany, France, Argentina 6. Linekar 7. 2 8. Hungary 10 El Salvador 1 (1982) 9. Hungary
  22. I'm going for Colombia - I'll sort out an avatar later. Vive Colombia!
