Apparently the resolutes turned up and the tunnels didnt expect them. The tunnels then put them on the bill also and Im glad they were! They have some good tunes, and 3 out of 4 of them can sing!! Check em out on their myspace / bebo sites! The beatnics probably didnt go on last cause they couldnt be arsed!

Glad I went to see the Beatnic Prestige last night, but only because I saw the "Resolutes" for the first time! In my opinion the Resolutes set was far better than the Beatnics! Oh and if your band was doing a nationwide tour and you were named as the headliners which slot would you take?? 1st 2nd 3rd 4th or 5th??? Remember that your also swapping all the kit out, drums amps the lot and decorating the place with chequered flags.

Has anyone ever used / sent demos to Caragan? What kind of response did they give you?

I use an ME-50 in front of my AVT at the moment, so long as you leave the amp on clean you can get a decent sound. But then with the ME-50 your stuck with one drive due to the utter shitness of the bank swapping. Man I think I hate everything I have, my guitar isnt any feckin better either!!!

30 an hour 30 quid an hour split between four isnt too bad! Aparently his studio is set up with pretty much the same equipment you will find at Abbey Road and to quote Steve, "Im A gear slut". He is constantly ugrading everthing to the lastest models and following the trends

Thanks for all the replys But we didn't go with any of them. We used floor toms productions in Clola on the way to Fraserburgh. Steve the sound engineer is awesome. We have recorded in other places in the past but this was definitely a class above everything we had done before. For instance, there were around 20 mics picking up the drums, mics on each drum, mics on the walls, mics on the roof, mics outside the room. Gave the drums a massive sound! Bass was recorded with a mic by in front of the cabinet, a line out and a mic behind the cabinet and then mics in and out of the room. Same went for guitars. It took us 10 hours to get three songs down and into a ruff mix. We don't have finals yet but we have mixes that are soooo much better than anything we have recorded before.

Can anyone offer any advice on the best places for recording a band in and around Aberdeen. Is there anywhere to avoid? Anywhere highly recommended? Thanks Steve

Sounds like a fairly mixed review then! Would the gig have been better without all the "brainless, its cool to be fighting, c**t neds"? I wasn't there myself, but I did see them at Caird Hall last year in Dundee. Sounds like the Dundee folk were better behaved as there were no fights, not that I saw anyway. Ned's do my nut in, how come ned's don't realise that tucked in tracky bottoms looked stupid as F**K. Even if their tracksuits were worth 95 MIllion quid, they still look bloody awful

What is it lacking that toms has?

The gig was great. I would have made a change to the set list tho. (I always would for nearly every gig I go to). I would have swapped Maximum High for On an Island with you.

I would change it slightly as follows 1. When you switch from Bio to home, there is a jump in text position. Try and get the text and images to sit in the same place. 2. Maybe the links under images could go up next to the bio ones? Just so that its clearer what is a link etc.
