  1. Pretty sure this is my old gear. Great sounding set up.
  2. Interesting...what's the weight like
  3. Hi, Looking for a smallish valve combo. Something like a Peavey Classic 30 tweed etc. Cheers B
  4. I would be interested in bass stuff as well
  5. I could lend you one Al to se if it's what you really really want
  6. Where you get that JJ from? Local? Cracking guitars
  7. TBH I hav eno idea. Might be from years ago when the PA's were rubbish and the guitarist wanted to be heard past drummers or screaming fans. Could be something to do with getting a decent clean sound at high volumes. I've had 100w amps and never even got them near flat out. Gee even a 30w AC30 is loud as fook. Interesting the bass players seem to like bigger wattage though like 400-500 watts or something.

  9. Ok, thanks for the clarification.
  10. Ah so he, and yourself are both stating that a chiild is the same as an animal. Interesting!
  11. Are you saying that a child is no different from an animal? To an extent I understand your sentiments, but I'm not sure your post came across correctly.
  12. Been saying that for years. Once you get a drummer and bass and shouter involved it doesn't really matter .
  13. I've had another think about this and realised that one case of a U turn was with Hendrix. I always thought his playing was just a load of twiddle-deeddle and erm...wank! I like Crosstown Traffic because it was being used as a tv commercial soundtrack or something. Anyway, I was down town one day and went into one of those shops that sell 2nd stuff for charity. Can't remember which one. There on the shelf was a cassettee of Hendrix c/w croostown traffic on it. 50p it was so I thought ok just get it. It was never off the car stereo for months. I played it over and over again....slowly getting to dislike crosstown and liking the other tracks better. Still to this day some of Jimi Hendrix tracks move me and make me just listen to how he played and what he was saying. Awesome gezzer.
  14. the Hi-Gain DR were okay actually. Not so good as a nice SLX though, but still worked pretty well. They got a wee bit of bad press at the start for the overdrive sound, but they are very usable.
  15. Well done I'm totally out of touch with the R&R noo. Enjoy the new position.
  16. I used to like the Arctic Monkeys. Liked their first album because it sounded like a bunch of mates getting together and playing. Now, they are over produced (IMO) and are now part of the 'hype' So is that me going off the AM's or them changing and me not liking the new stuff? Probably the latter. Still put me off them though.
  17. You might be right, but I can't see how an would employer could be done for not giving someone a job. If that was the case they would need to give everyone that applied or turned up for an interview...a job. Maybe I'm missing something due to S Mc being offered the job already...however maybe circumstances at the firm have changed. Were contracts signed etc. Maybe we are all reading too much into the situation......... S Mc....did you get the job in the end?
  18. Although I understand where you're coming from, I think it would depend on what the job/company was. If it had several dozen or 100's of employees, then one being off could be covered. On the other hand if there was only 3-4 employees then it could be a problem. The bottom line is though is that S Mc is on top of the situation and the future is looking rosy
  19. I've got a melody maker but it's the single cutaway LP shape. P90. I would say it's one of my fav guitars. I have a 2002 LP STD as well...Great guitar not too heavy (my 1980 Custom wins the prize). Some of the other LP models had selector switches down near the vol/tone nobs. Like the Nighthawk for example. These were also good guitars.
