  1. Okay I've looked into Tracktion...it looks like you have to buy it......nae sure I want to do that at this stage...is there any free ones?
  2. What condition is the Hotrod?
  3. Blacks often have this stuff in sales....you might be surprised
  4. what about Colombia stuff. I've got a couple of their jackets and very happy with them.
  5. Okay so you've brought up the racist card again even though I've made no mention of it in my post .My point was that there are a lot of things that are offensive to some, but not to others. Now we can agree on something...Hate speech is not good and should be handled in a severe manner whether that speech is in UK, USA, Russia, or any other country. However to remind you once again.....this thread is not about racism or hate speech, it's about two people talking in private, and whether it's acceptable for that conversation to be recorded
  6. Surprising to hear a few people stating they never say anything wrong/offensive whether in private or not. What Saints we have in Aberdeen Music. What one person finds offensive, another might not. Drinking....anybody on here drink? Probably! Yet some people find it offensive. How about smoking, how about taking drugs, how about reading the Playboy mag. All these things and more can be seen as wrong or/and offensive to someone out there. To say you 'never' say or doing something wrong/offensive is a pretty big statement. I think we need to look at is that it's one thing to not do something out of choice.....but another to have the freedom to make that choice taken away from you.
  7. ordered a 1gb card fopr my Boss recorder thing.....really going to try this time home:)
  8. I think most people are getting hooked on what this guy said...when I think Milner is getting at the fact that it's got to the stage in our sad world of PC we can't say stuff in our own home etc in what we think is privacy. Is this the same as 'phone tapping'? Is it the same as being tagged on Facebook in some sleazy pole dancing club with a half naked woman on your knee and your girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/husband/mother/father etc seeing it and giving you shit for it. Of course you could claim that you are old enough to do what you want...however I don't think that will wash in a divorce court, or when you're 'grounded' Will you be happy then and say the person had a right to post the picture. Forget about the guy in the link and answer the question......is it okay for someone to record a private conversation and use it against that person. Or even better...would it be okay for someone to record you saying something in private, without you knowing and using it against you?
  9. was it early in the morning....3am perhaps?
  10. oooh good one! I would have to sit on the fence and say it depends on who and what they are comments are. Milner, you have added a link to a man who it seems has a history of racist remarks etc. Therefore people are going to say it's about time that he paid for it. Whether the penalty over the top could be a different debate. For me, probably yes it is over the top a little. A very hefty fine and several years ban might have been enough. at the end of the day he should be a Role Model for others. Now, if it was some group of people getting together to commit a crime such as plant a bomb etc to kill innocent people, then the penalty should be as much as the courts can give....the harsher the better. What if it was a group of friends getting together for a beer and started making comments about someone not in their company...well I really don't see much of a problem with that and I'm sure if we were honest with ourselves then we would agree that we have all done that at sometime in our lives.
  11. Tried that...it's coming up not found. EDIT! Joking!
  12. Nope. I agree with JB. what that is sayhing is that not only to you like an argument.....you are the ring leader lol. Yes, if it's something like Duke of Edinburgh or 'Rock Challange' type of thing then I think that would be good.
  13. you're having a laugh right?!? Is this how they try to show the out of work figures are down (if they are)? I'm sorry but call me old fashioned but why the fook are we paying for kids to go to school? How do they pay it out...in to the pupils bank account or the parents? I certainly hope it's in to the parents account so that they can put it towards the food and general upkeep of a teenage school pupil. Och I'll probably get crap for saying that but I really think we have lost the plot here. I'm sure there are some that help out and have wee jobs to get money to buy 'stuff' but generally it's the parents that are left to pick up the bill.
  14. CV: As mentioned above, not too long bu tbeing your age I wouldn' t think it would be that long anyway. I once so a CV from a guy offshore. It was about 6 pages long and it mentioned about 40 rig/platforms he had been on working. Or maybe landed on for a refuel who knows, but it was too much. If you like music then write that, but don't go in to genre. Same with playing. you could write something like :Interests= listening to and playing music. If could strike up a conversation. I know I would ask what do you play etc. One other tip that I've seen working in use decent paper for your CV and think about using a pastel colour as it 'stands out' in the pile a little bit. Interview: Walk in and look them in the eye and give them a good firm handshake, and say your 'hellos' Keep up eye contact during the interview. If there is more than one person, look at the one speaking, when you are speaking, try to give 50% eye contact with the person in charge, and share out the rest...if you know what I mean. If it's one on one then keep eye contact. If you feel strange doing that...then look at their mouth if it makes you feel easier....it will still look as though you are looking them in the eye. Liston to what they say. As someone said, tkae notes if needs be. I've never done this, but I can see how it would make you look like you want to learn. I suppose it would not be good to ask them to repeat something though just because you write too slow. Maybe a very basic shorthand. Try to have a couple of questions to ask...not "can I get every weekend off to go on the piss" though. At the end shake their hands again and thank them for the interview. Be clean and well groomed and wear smart clothes, but don't be afriad to show your personality as well if your fav shirt is purple with yellow lines, then wear it....but nothing offensive like blood and gore t shirts. If they already know you then I don't think you need a suit, but be smart. If they know you, it doesn't mean you can be all pally and relax too much. Don't sound as though you know everything because trust me you don't. Neither will they of course, but that's for you to know and for them to think you don't know. They might end up being your boss, so they wnat someone that can listen and not put their knowledge in doubt. On you could just try to wing it.
  15. Never seen this thread before. I got the whole of the first 12 series on a hard drive (no pun). The early shows were very basic and held in a large empty hanger somewhere. I get the feeling it was only friends and families of the film crew etc that turned up.
  16. If he's been that good to you then don't let it worry you. Surely you don't need to feel the need for everyone to agreee with you. My friends and family have different points of views from me on all sorts of issues but it doesn't mean I have to feel down about it. Chin up min.
  17. I don't think they tune to anything really. I would like to say that they are good clubs though and make a great 'swooshing' sound when you swing them. I suppose you would need to record that sound and play it back into you Boss tuner.
  18. lol when I wrote that last post I thought someone would reply along that lines
  19. It was meant as 'how did you start playing' but liking the other bits. My sisters were 13 & 10 years older than me and they had a fair few 7" singles lying around that I listened to when I was old enough. I first remember listening to stuff like Cash and Kristofferson as my (guitar playing) uncle used to try and play their stuff...especailly Cash. I remember him having the live album (San Quentin) and it's blue cover.....I thought it was cool. He also like Simon and Garfunkel and would listen to Bridge over troubled water for ages. He would make everyone that came ot his house sit in front of his B&O music centre and listen to the car going across the speakers in Baby Driver. First album I bought was on holiday to Northampton to my sisters. We went to the supermarket (I had never seen such a big shop) and I ended up buying a 'Tribute to Johnny Cash'. I can't remember who sang on it but it wasn't Mr Cardno although AC would have made a better job. I think it was 99p Second album was S&G BOTW (see above) third one was Tubular Bells. So between my uncle, sisters, brother in laws and neighbours my early memories are of above and Irish Ballads (BIL) and Frank Sinatra (doonstairs neighbour on a Sunday morning). In early 70's it was Slade, Sweet, Bowie, then Quo and then Deep Purple, then some punk and then a jump to 2 tone later on.
  20. holding a football up to someones head is racist???? WTF! has been to us? Get a grip. I've always thought that those mic covers (for windy days) look like afro haircuts......ban the racist mic covers that's what I say.
