LORENZO SNOW COLLECTIVE THE GARCIAS 6 TUNNELS (tunnel 2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PRINZHORN DANCE SCHOOL (DFA RECORDS) The first UK band signed to uber hip NYC Label DFA (death from above) run by James Murphy ala LCD Soundsystem fame. Prinzhorn Dance School are Tobin Prinz and Suzi Horn. Their music is sparse, uncompromising and idiosyncratic. They are signed to the New York record label DFA. Their debut release for the label was a self recorded and self produced 7-inch single featuring the tracks "You Are The Space Invader" and "Eat, Sleep" which is now highly sought after as it was limited to 500 copies only. Prinz and Horn recorded their debut album in isolation, in a rented barn in Sussex, having already written the songs in the disused chapel building they call home, also entirely on their own. The album was sebsequently mixed in New York with The DFA and was released on August 13, in the UK and on August 27 in North America. The band are known to be reclusive, with very few interviews given, and their own official website rarely features any images of their faces. Media-shy - in that they find photo-shoots vain, press releases dishonest and superlatives embarrassing they prefer the isolation of their working space, writing and recording privately in their own austere and peculiar way. However, the band are building a strong following partly due to their impressive, intense live shows. They have completed UK and European tour dates, although their American tour was famously cancelled due to visa problems. It is believed they have taken their name from Dr Hans Prinzhorn, who collected art by mentally ill patients under his care. http://www.prinzhorn-dance-school.com/what.html

  12. Afternoon Ladies and Gents. Just a short note to say that _________MOSHULU_THE_BASSMENT________________ONLINE now hosts all gig listings with direct ticketing links and will be constantly updated as soon as shows go onsale. Thanks.
  13. Um.. Can't see it being Kaisers as they're doing Meadowbank. Radiohead and Blur will probably do Glasto. I'd imagine Franz will probably be one of them, possibly Muse as another. Stereophonics seem to be making a huge comeback just now as well. Biffy will probably be quite high up and with Bloc Party doing exhibition centres they'll also probably be quite high up. There's also talk of Stone Roses and Led Zeppelin reformations;and there's The Verve. Plenty of possibilities. Green Day not due another record?
  14. Actually, Their'll be a lot of work getting done in Moshulu in the next couple of months... The Bassment will also be getting a new menu and we'll be getting new beer taps put in and the drinks range extended. Oh, and there'll be a fucking lot of gigs too.
  15. I'll have it onsale on ticketweb on Saturday at 9AM - It might show before then, might not - but they'll be able to buy on Welcome to TicketWeb! on Sat at 9AM. Jamesy
  16. People say this... Tellison is a self-determining unit without girls from Hammersmith, West London in Britain near France. Drums, Bass, Cowbells, Two Broken Guitars, Four Broken Voices, One Wounded Laptop, some Extra-Curricular instruments and pure, wild-eyed, old-fashioned fight. Conversations, concert attendance and an educational institution brought them together and time spent on motorways in transit vans cemented friendships. They play what is best described as independant popular music. With disarming melodies and big-hearted guitars. You're going to love them "Their treble-layered harmonies and quirky energetic songs recall the sense, if not the sound, of The Get Up Kids in their early days... a wonderful sense of hope, regret and youthful abandon" - KERRANG! "This band deserve your love" - Rock Sound "Tellison are fucking great." - Play Dead Single Of The Issue, Issue 18 "Thank fuck then for TELLISON, who in just a few bars of their opening song banish the memory of whats gone before and proceed to remind me just why they really are one of the best young British bands around" - A Short Fanzine About Rocking

  20. Nice little bit.. Page 22.. 'Paul Harris, A&R manager @ B-Unique Records on his unsigned faves of hte moment' "Casting my net slightly further north, to the sunny climes of Aberdeen, I just got a demo through from three guys calling themselves Edgar Prais (www.myspace.com/edgarprais). If Modest Mouse were jamming with Teenage Fanclub in Rivers Cuomo's basement, the results would bear some similarity to the punchy, crunchy pop these tykes make. I was so excited by the demo, I jumped on a flight to see them supporting our boys The Twang. They didn't disappoint. Seriously, they're one of the most energetic new bands in the UK."
  21. Fingers crossed. Also got Attack the Hive on which I'm looking forward to.
  22. Strongly disagree... There's no denying that McTaggart is the boy, however, Tom's slotted in nicely - he's a quality drummer without being fancy and he's got a killer voice on harmonies... aaahh - the purists...
