  1. hang on...how can Ascension and MMW play " at the same time " how do you mean?
  2. Ascension can play anytime before the 15th of december ( bassist is buggering off to canada for xmas ) soooo we are up for it anytime before then
  3. hey man, yep Ascension can confirm for this, ill send you a PM as well about it. hopefully see everyone on the 11th then.
  4. ive got a copy of the new album Hypnotize off Torrents and i can tell you, it Kicks ass!! the 2 kinda Mezmorise/hypnotize double album idea works reeally reeeeeally well! but still id say...Mezmorize is better than hypnotize. but system have definatly gotten better over the years.
  5. i would say im more of an high-Intermediate player, ive played for about 5 or 6 years but still got a long way to go. but i do know my guitars, and id vote for Jackson being premo for shredding ( as long as you actually have some skill ) there not much different from Ibanez at all really...i remember borrowing my brothers jackson for a while ( cant remember the make exactly )...i didnt want to give it back to him. being the poor bugger i am i have to settle for my Epiphone Les paul which is shorter scale. Regarding Amps id say Marshall come out on top most of the time, that or Line 6. for home practice i play through an MG30DFX and it sounds great! but i couldnt play without my Effects pedal, which i think EVERY guitar player should own, especially for shredding because sometimes you can find a lot of amazing effects on your pedal, which will make your shredding sound awesome! especially when compared with the sort of Overdrive you get from just clicking in a little black button on your amp.
  6. lmao!!!!!! saying Gregor plays at beginner level is just one of the most ridiculous things ive ever heard. Im the vocalist in Ascension and i can tell you right now, Gregor is one of the best guitar players i have ever heard play! and ill also agree with his comment on the ibanez. you should hear some of the amazing Shredage come out of his ibanez...ive only been playing for about 6 years or so and i play an Epiphone Les paul....i cant shred on it, i doubt i could shred at all lol. but yeah...dont challenge gregor to a guitar-off...he will wipe the window with your ass.
  7. yep, roll on St.andrews university gig. that ones gonna be a big kahoona!
  8. The society hasnt got anythin to do with RGU. its the Tunnels entertainment society who organised all this, judged the bands, and brought along half of the equipment.
  9. lol yeah ill admit i did have some standing around to do, once my hair grows back ill feel a lot more comfertable going mad lol, dont ask why it just feels more natural lol. next gig guys, i promise i wont be a statue lol. and true yeah hamish, our bassist was kinda hiding behind me lol, its his first gig with us to so he was perhaps a little nervous...
  10. lol too true! im not really thinking of it as a BOTB more of a practice gig. but it went well all the same.
  11. Ascension did get the most audience votes, by a LONG WAY! we had over 25 votes in total i think, if not more. but the judges decided it would be best for DeBassed to go through. as for us being nervous i think u need to remember that we actually got involved with the audience, and remembering the end when myself and our guitarist stuart got in front of the stage and went crazy for our song " The time machine "
  12. got a singer yet? if you are aberdeen based i might be able 2 help...altho i am low on equipment, all i gots is a 30 watt marshall guitar amp, and some shitty mic i got off ebay...but who knows, if i finally find a job in this stoopid city i cud advance that, anyways, give us a buzz sumtime Ricki
  13. i just moved back to Aberdeen after liviing in england the last 7 years, after being asked to sing a song in my friends Emo band, i found that fronting a band is definatly more fun than my other talent, electric guitar. im lookin to join an aberdeen based band, either Emo/punk/metal/screamo anything in the Rock genre really..even possibly the soft stuff..unfortunatly the only equipment i have is 1 Marshall MG30DFX amp.. and a dodgy microphone i got off ebay...so that might be a problem, im 16 years old and so it wud be cool to join a band within that age group, any sort of experiance is cool, amateurs, pros ill take anythin right now, lol! anyway, Email: Rickicaz1279@hotmail.com thanks Ricki
