  1. Adam Easy Wishes.. in the Globe last night.. about 7ish
  2. I'm pretty sure I saw Papa John's posters in a shop window on Holburn Street, which would suggest another branch is opening? I could be wrong though.
  3. It's just like a tub of cheap, melted - turned room temperature - butter that happens to have a modicum of garlic essence. Seriously awful.
  4. Have your sofas been taken yet? If not.. what colour are they? any chance of a photo? and where do they need picked up from? Thanks! p.s. - apologies for hi-jacking the thread but i'm in need of furniture on the cheap too..
  5. I'll tell you what's ace-ic.. when you're in a car park and someone, who is just about to leave, gives you the ticket they bought. I love not having to give Aberdeen City Council parking money at the utterly ridiculous rates that they charge.
  6. I just saw a cyclist with a flat tyre carrying his bike. He definitely didn't look cool.
  7. chasing a plastic bag across a loch to avoid looking like an un-environmentally friendly bastard in front of a bunch of outdoorsy folk.
  8. And have these girls told you that you seem like a total pro? Or is this just something that you imagine they're thinking?
  9. trying to push a 'pull' door.. and vice versa
  10. I'm a student, I don't have a job right now and I'm extremely stressed today. I have 3 exams between now and this time next week. I've worked my arse off during my time at uni and have done really well. But you never know how an exam is going to go no matter how prepared you are. And when it's your last ever uni exams, and the results have the potential to make or destroy your degree, I think the feeling of stress is more than justified.
  11. I'm afraid it's been done... Five great iPhone apps for guitar players
  12. Thanks for that.. all makes sense now.
  13. I thought, as I was writing my query, that it may come across as if I had some problem with the UK not starting the day first and like I was questioning who had allowed other countries to be hours ahead of us magnificent Brits.. But I'm not a complete fud. In all honesty.. it's one of those things that I've always wondered. Why does the day not start in America and then we'd be behind them rather than a few hours ahead? Can anyone actually explain why it is like it is? Or am I looking way too much into this...
  14. I think you missed the point.. They are on the other side of the world and there is a 12 hour time difference because of the way the world spins while rotating round the sun. But who decided that the day would start first there and then come round to us.. and not that it would start here and move round to them so that they were 12 hours behind. Not really seeing the relevance of your race analogy..
  15. On a related note.. I have never understood why Australia is 12 hours ahead of us. Is there a reason why it's not 12 hours behind?
  16. I think it would be cheaper to just buy a freezer rather than a Turbo Fridge. I'd imagine that the R&D investment faced by a company when creating such a fridge would be quite sizeable.. and so the initial purchase price, when first released, would likely be high in order to cover these costs. That said, for some reason I really do love the idea...
  17. I read that as 'always on the roof', Thought it was a bit of a bold statement.. but the thought of sweeping a cyclist on to the top of your car after they've gone through a red light does seem quite reasonable on reflection..
  18. I have a new found love for the televised version of Poirot, starring the wonderful David Suchet. ...and on a related note, ITV3 is fast becoming one of my favourite tv channels.
  19. In a similar vein to some other recent threads.. Are there any really great restaurants in (or around) Aberdeen to have a celebratory meal after a graduation ceremony? Not too fussed at the moment about what type of food.. although I guess it will have to cater for grandparents who are more accustomed to Flora's than, say, Bhan Thai.. Any recommendations, particularly from past experience, would be much appreciated..
  20. One thing that really irks me is when cyclists expect to be treated with respect by motorists on the road, but then feel that they have the right to completely ignore red lights. So many times I've seen pedestrians narrowly avoid being hit by cyclists who think they can keep going when there's a green man. On one occasion I saw a cyclist fall off his bike after being forced to slam on his brakes, and then he proceeded to get all pissy at the pedestrian as if it was him who had done something wrong. Either cycle on the pavement and act like a pedestrian, or abide by the rules of the road!
  21. And I bet there would have been a group of staff spurring the person on as it was being written.. The fact that one person thought it would be a good idea is sad but the fact that potentially a group of people found it funny is just worrying.
  22. Why do you not get selection boxes all year round?
  23. I associate the first phrase with people studying Oxbridge... It doesn't bother me as much but "majoring" is definitely another one that riles me.
  24. Is this the second series? I saw some episodes a few months ago when he was a binman and a mum I think? It was pretty funny. His stand up DVDs are definitely worth a watch.. and I quite liked that show "Ask Rhod Gilbert" with his flatmate and Greg Davies.
  25. The word 'finals' - as in, 'i'm sitting my finals at uni this year.' I dunno what it is, but there's something about it that automatically makes me think the person who has said it is pompous and full of their own self importance.
