  1. Or tapwater as "council juice" xx
  2. It's 'stage show' actors on tv.. If it'd been a play it'd've been really good, just not up to par to work as a tv programme imho... Still, gotta agree it's good to see some non-glasgow-based scottish comedy making it out there, so credit to them. xx
  3. Isn't that what teh interwebs is for?? xx

  5. Toms is 15 an hour right? I actually think it might have been 12 an hour when I've been at MV... But to be honest I'm just plucking numbers out of the clear blue fucking sky now... Minimal difference to though and I'd happily pay the extra 3-4 for Toms, only downside is that Toms tends to be pretty heavily booked so disorganised, last minute practises are difficult. xx
  6. I've never liked the UK office. Just couldn't get into it... The first time I saw the US one I thought it'd be gash but I absolutely fell in love. Haven't seen anything beyond season 2, so I think a monster session catching up is in order. Ace-ic! xx
  7. Apollo 13? "Nobody huh...? The fairy fucking godmother said it" xx
  8. ordering a new phone with 'next day delivery' to find I have to wait up to an extra 7 working days because the whole country fell to fucking shit last week during the snow. Balls. xx
  9. Very true. Still, gotta hate someone.. otherwise there would be absolutely no point in the internet. xx
  10. You? Being sarcastic? Unlike you... Fuck, don't I feel like a dick... xx
  11. Is describing Radiohead as 'joyus' not a little oxymoronic? Not particularly familiar with them but what I've heard is miserablism at it's finest.. Same idea as Coldplay? xx
  12. I absolutely agree, but that said it's implied in a couple of posts here that that's an acceptable goal.. Personally, I believe music is art and should be treated as such, with respect and blah blah blah... fact is, people have paid money for the crazy frog. you may have forgotten all about that fad, but that's when the idealist in me died.. If I could make a living writing advert jingles, god knows I would. This whole celebrity culture we live in is just about fame and money, it's pretty sad. I used to hate the people who buoght heat magazine, I just pity them now... xx
  13. ..bunch of fucking savages in this town put the word around the likes of cash converters and so on, there's a thread here with the places to put the word around best of luck xx
  14. Couldn't agree more about the whole 'sellout' thing.. I used to be as bad as anyone (when I was 16 and thought the whole fucking world owed me something) but now I've realised that musicians grow up.. Green Day are my favourite example.. They've went from writing songs about dicks to having a few years hiatus and coming back with a hugely political (albeit a slightly simple minded, FUCK BUSH, YEAH!! kind of political) couple of albums and people brand them sellouts.. Not denying there's a breakneck change in direction towards the commercial here, but they are fucking 40somethings now... obviously they had to grow up a little.... no? It's always teh so called fucking 'punk scene' that does it too and that really irks me... So called punks who spend so much time arguing about what does and doesn't fit into their definition of 'punk', but at the same time trying to hold on to the ideals that what they stand for is being anti-elitism and anti-establishment... The irony staggers me... xx
  15. Haven't the biffy always been teetering on the cusp of mainstream friendly pop music though? I love them, but if you ask me they've always been putting out catchy pop tunes, just with an angsty twist. Like Weezer if they wore eyeliner and had tattoos... xx
  16. Stupid things don't even work.. I've molested loads of kids who had them and they didn't beep or anything... They seem to keep track of how far they run before I catch them...? xx
  17. Another awesome story fucked over by the stupid truth. =[ xx
  18. See, I usually go drums first... be them digital (I try to avoid this as much as I can but for demoing I use guitar pro, mainly because I put a lot of my songs into there anyway to play with layering stuff up and working out vocal melodies etc as part of the writing process) or a mic'd up drummer, I like to get that down first to keep everything else going in as tight as possible The drummer plugs a metronome into headphones and plays the song to a click, then lay down the bass, guitar, then vox. Kinda out-of-date post in all honesty, I'm in the process of getting a new band going - but this is still the process I used before and that I plan to stick to, it'll just be with different gear as old drummer didn't let me steal his drum mics and mixer, the nerve of that bastard! but yeah, following drums, either DI or mic the bass and then guitar, lay down some vocals and have a listen to it as bare bones - do a minor amount of touching up to make it sound acceptable then consider / write / scrap / rework the harmonies and layers, less is more after all! I like using this process while I write, but since I write almost everything on an acoustic guitar, i tend to get lazy and just open up cool edit and play / sing the song to the laptops built in mic, leave it a day or two and go back and listen. I also hate the sound of my voice, but I'm a pretty shit singer... anyway, listen back, rate it, send it to bandmates and a couple of friends who's opinions I can trust to be honest (often too fucking honest, wankers) and rework, loop the process till it's done... et voila xx
  19. gotta admire the commitment, you really do plus I hear crabs don't like the cold so it could be medicinal? xx
