  6. As many of you are aware by now, The Black Tooth has now firmly established itself as one of Aberdeen's leading rock/alternative clubnights. Although experience tells us that mixing anything with the Fudge DJ's only leads to tears, hangovers and heartache, this time we're wrong. Live bands to have graced the Black Tooth stage have included The Death Set (Ninja Tunes), Jackie Treehorn, Secta Rouge, the mighty Bloodnut, Battle to Exile, We Push Buttons and many other of our hard-rocking amigos. Throw in some burlesque from the lovely Daiquiri Dusk, DJ riffage from Brian and Craig, plus a tasty rocktail menu, and we got ourselves one hell of a hangover every Tuesday. Damn you Jager! After the early morning headache subsides, we manage to put a little bit of a graft in and as a result we have the following for us all to look forward to: Adam Bomb :: the return of the mightly Bloodnut :: Halloween Special (there's a budget of Hollywood blockbuster proportions for this one, so book Tuesday 28th off...no one's going anywhere) :: Alamos (probably) :: White Boys for Gay Jesus (Brian has a porno of the same name, that's why he booked them) :: Tabasco Fiasco :: Riot Riot...and more that we're working on. Finally, many thanks to our sponsors and shoulders to cry on: Jagermeister, the Moorings Bar and Retro Rebels. Our Myspace: Join us!
  7. This coming Monday at the Black Tooth... Battle To Exile (rock/alternative/hardcore) The Day I Vanished (melodic post-hardcore) + local support Doors open at 9pm (early show) Free passes from The Moorings and Retro Rebels.

  10. Sorry missed this reply - no this podcast in particular is not from the 19th June - that was the Adventures Close to Home gig. This Friday, instead of Giles who will be stagging it up somewhere... Ali Herron (OOFT Music) OOFT Music are The Revenge & Ali Herron. The name was coined during a 2006 DJ residency at the 333 club in Shoreditch, London. Now you can find OOFT DJing most weekends in various venues in Glasgow, curating the L.E.S.S. Productions edits series, producing records for UK label Five20East records, and also running an irregular little club night at the IVY venue. Nothing is sacred for an OOFT DJ set as long as the fire keeps burning and the heads keep bobbing. Masters of the bar set, armed with turntables, computers, CDs and other bits of technological jiggery-pokery you can expect edgy hip-hop, twisted electronica, dubbed-out re-edits, freaky disco, bleepy house and stone-cold tear-jerkers all rinsed within an inch of their lives. For club work speaker troubling basslines, deep as the ocean house, Chicago classics and plenty of exclusives usually get a look in too. Doors open 10pm. www.myspace.com/ooftmusic // OOFT! // OOFT Music

  12. Could everyone stop stealing the tiki mugs please - they cost 5 each!
  13. No probs Lunik - haven't seen you for a while. Forgot to congratulate you on your Radio 1 airtime - so, good een!
  14. I would think not. They want to see the DJ using either CDJ's or turntables.
  15. We would be interested in this for the Black Tooth on Mondays. We're not the size of Moshulu or the Lemon Tree, but that hasn't stopped us putting on high-profile names in the past. If anyone wants to discuss this further, ping me over an email: gomes@clubsnafu.com.
  16. We have been assured that djing via turntable-interactive programs such as Serato is fine, however djing using a laptop solely is out of the question.
  17. Also, please note that for tonight only, doors will be at 10.30pm instead of 9pm.
  18. Unfortunately, there has been last minute changes to tonight's line-up, resulting in no bands being able to play. Instead, Sidca have been moved to next week's bill, alongside Greater the Shadow and Red Mongoose. Doors will now open at 10.30pm tonight with the Fudge DJ's on entertainment duty till 2am. All other updates available from: MySpace.com - Black Tooth Rock Lounge - 88 - Female - Snafu, UK - www.myspace.com/blacktoothrock.
  19. Whilst we are being picky about typos Ian, should the above sentence not read: What is "pround" and why are you it? I believe this one belongs to me! Thank you.
  20. Not a rule I personally agree with and therefore hats are allowed in Snafu. End of the day, if you don't want certain types of people in your club, then don't let them in in the first place. I'd say we're one of the most trouble-free clubs in Aberdeen and that's with a hats-allowed policy. But on another note, putting the hat back on after being asked a couple of times to remove it maybe wasn't the best plan!
