  1. The only bands I remember watching are NoFX, Offspring, Prodigy and GnR on the Friday, (IIRC Reel Big Fish cancelled that year), nothing on the Saturday and Less Than Jake, maybe Andrew WK and then Foo Fighters on the Sunday. I went to the comedy stage a few times but generally I spent all weekend just drinking, walking around and being a fanny. What a waste!
  2. I have considered this actually, as a contingency if Neil ever pulls the plug. We could run them concurrently for a while. It would have to be a secret group tho. Invite only. I don't want the Mumsnet Brigade commenting every time someone gleefully posts about a celebrity death "omg this is a complete discrace, u shud hang ur heads in shame"
  3. This one The whole weekend is a massive drunken blur, but the Saturday is a complete goner, the only band from that I remember going to see is Feeder, and I got KB'd because the tent was full. A productive day. Festivals were wasted on me at that age, I didn't really explore new music much, I just listened to old grunge and metal and I'd just sit at the main stage all day getting shitfaced. Then 10 years later you're going through the old line ups and being like fucks sake, Elliott Smith played while I was eating chips at the fairground because Slipknot were on the main stage and I didn't want to watch them. I went to either Reading or Leeds for four years in a row, that was the last one. Not a great line up tbh.
  4. I just earned the 'Lager Jack (Level 4)' badge on @untappd! https://t.co/T5DDCi3Md1

  5. A band I've always wanted to see, and who played the main stage of the Leeds Festival once when I was there and so blackout drunk I can't remember if I saw them or not. See also Beck and The White Stripes.
  6. Initial thoughts on Pacific Daydream: mixed. It's a natural follow up to the White Album, more summery pop songs, only with all the rock aspects removed. No fuzzy guitars, just weird keyboard and electronic sounds. Bold. The songs are really well written and sound super polished, but they're also entirely forgettable. If it were another artist I might be willing to get down on it but it's Weezer. This isn't how I like my Weezer. At least after the first two tracks (arguably the worst two) there are no really arse-clenchingly cringe moments, which is pretty good for a modern Weezer album. Will listen again but don't see myself ever loving this album.
  7. Decided I'm going to listen to Slayer every day for a month. Slayvember.

  16. My wife was sitting in the house the other day and heard the letterbox. Went through and there was a "sorry we missed you" card from the guy who reads the meter. He didn't even knock or anything. She went to the window and watched him do the same to the next three houses in the street, then when he saw her watching him he PRETENDED to knock on a door, put another note, came back to our house knocked, and said "hi I'm here to read the meter". Didn't even mention the fact that he'd put a card through not two minutes before. I reported the cunt.
  17. I ordered a phone from the UK to be delivered to Ireland, it had a track and trace number, saw it being accepted at the Post Office, being shipped to Heathrow, arriving at Heathrow and then... Nothing. It sat in Heathrow for two weeks. Presume it fell down the back of a desk or something. Fuck Royal Mail. Fuck the Queen. Brits out.
  18. Missing the Scotland game tonight because I have to bake a cake. Can someone please check my balls are still attached?
