Forza 5 is free on Games with Gold this month. Not quite the open-world fun of Horizon but still enjoying it. Switching off all the driving assists is chaotic fun and fucking satisfying when you win a race with it all off. Digging these Forza games. Completed Horizon and Horizon 2, I'll pick up 3 eventually.

Still on my Stephen King run, reading the first Dark Tower book again, "The Gunslinger". Not getting down on it at all. I struggle with fantasy a lot of the time, but unusually for Stephen King the story and especially the language just aren't grabbing me. It feels like a young writer trying too hard, "I know aaaaaall the adjectives and I'm gonna use em". Tough read. Hope they get better because I have another 7 DT books to go. I first started trying to read the series in 2001 and I've never got further than the first book.

I've another new game on the go, the League Of Ireland Premier Division as my local team Bohemians. That's a tough fucking league. I have 0 money, a wage budget of €4000 for my entire team and I'm only allowed to keep 15% of transfer revenue. It's a part time league, so the only players that want to play in it are the players that already play in it, it's a completely closed bubble, so it's incredibly difficult to improve your squad (the club will only let me scout players in Ireland anyway, I guess a Ryanair fare to the UK is out of budget). My youth team is garbage and I'm only allowed 2 coaches, so I get fun decisions like do I need a goalkeeping coach or a fitness coach more? It's a hard league and I'm doing shit (currently 9th) but it's kind of fun. All the teams are pretty evenly matched so if you get your tactics right you can go on a good run (sadly tactical knowledge is my achilles heel). Recommend firing it up for a blast. The games come thick and fast too, 2 a week so you race through the season.

Latest coffee news. Bought an Aeropress. Makes nice coffee. Currently enjoying Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. I got a tip a few weeks ago from a mate, when you get an exceptionally strong / bitter cup of coffee, add a pinch of salt to it. Thought he was talking pish but I got a horror strong cup of coffee in a cafe today (double shot of espresso in an Americano about the size of a teacup) and tried it out, completely neutralised the bitterness, really brought out the flavours of the coffee and made it really smooth. Turned in to one of the best cups of coffee I've had in ages. Don't know the science behind it but it worked. Give it a try.
