  1. Whoever came up with the slogan "You've tried the rest, now try the best!" must be due some amount of royalties from local businesses.

  2. I never saw The Hollywood Blondes in action but I'm going to say Stone Cold was probably a better gimmick for him. We have to do top 5 tag teams next.
  3. Further confession - the best series of books I've read lately was The Hunger Games. The films aren't bad either. (yet to see the fourth one)
  4. That little boy baddie. Straight out of Bugsy Malone. Did you see the remake?
  5. He did punch Piers Morgan though, so he's forever on my good guy list.

    Weekend

Congrats min, I didn't even know you were getting married. I had a great time on mine, the lads flew over to Ireland and we had two days in Galway on the west coast on an absolute rampage. Then the third day we came back to Dublin to finish it off at Oktoberfest, but we were all too hungover to go and we just sat in the pub being miserable and tired. I couldn't even manage a single drink. I went back to the hotel and had a cup of tea and read my Kindle. The first two days were superb though.
  7. Imagine Top Gear where Clarkson was allowed to take over everything and there were no producers telling him to rein it in a bit. Also its later Top Gear where they'd given up all pretense of the challenges not being completely fake. I thought it was shite personally.
  8. Am I crazy or is that a young Stone Cold Steve Austin? My friend Bob has similar pale / ginger colouring, he also has a massive ginger beard, and before Sheamus got the mohawk they had the same haircut too, my wife still refers to Sheamus as "Bob on steroids". Sheamus is from my neighbourhood, he grew up a couple of streets over but weirdly no one seems to have heard of him and he's never mentioned. One of Busby's Babes got a bridge named after him with a plaque on it, I think Sheamus deserves a roundabout at least.
  9. Robocop 3 was godawful. It should be deleted from history. For the lucky few who haven't seen it, Robocop goes underground to join a resistance movement and is controlled by a little girl with a laptop. Also Robocop can fly and there are ninja robots. I remember seeing 2 when I was like 12 and thinking it was the greatest movie I'd ever seen (probably because it had Robocop and some tits in it, two of my favourite things as a 12 year old) but I watched it again a few years ago and it's proper shite too.
  10. How is this fucking guy still a successful musician? https://t.co/hhmlEeY6l8: R Kelly accused of grooming 14-year… https://t.co/64Lp65Lkqj

  11. Tyson Kidd Sheamus Corey Graves Chris Jericho in 2001 Festus
  12. Fuck you for not including Terry Taylor.
  13. The Chris Evans series was a turd, but it's been getting gradually better since he left. This series has been consistently excellent. As good as the Clarkson years but without all the laddish banter. Which is good. Its actually about cars now and not about Jeremy Clarkson. LeBlanc is fine, he's enthusiastic about cars and seems to enjoy the job, but he's not very natural as a presenter, you can tell he's acting during the videos, and he's very wooden in the studio. Very obviously reading from a script at all times. The other two are great though.

    Weekend

My wife is away for the weekend. Friday night - painting my bathroom. Saturday - XBox, takeaway, drinks at night. Sunday - XBox, takeaway, drinks at night. Monday - XBox, takeaway.
  15. Top 5 authors 1 - Stephen King 2 - Chuck Palahniuk 3 - Irvine Welsh 4 - Nick Hornby 5 - Michael Connelly
  16. I couldn't give a flying fuck about Star Wars. I've watched the old ones a couple of times, the prequels once, and haven't bothered with the new ones at all. I just don't get the obsession, they're just films, and not even particularly good ones. And I thought Phantom Menace was pretty good too. Jar Jar is annoying though.
  17. This is a good thread. (Jake's contribution aside). I've had a lifelong interest in the paranormal, not only ghosts but UFOs, cryptids, mysterious disappearances etc. Last time I saw anything weird was about 10 years ago when I had a flat in Raeden Crescent in Aberdeen. Me and my flatmate and both of our partners on several occasions heard voices coming from the living room when there was no-one in there. My flatmate was sitting on the sofa one night and she heard a noise coming from the other sofa on the other side of the room, a noise like fabric rubbing together, like someone was moving around on the other sofa. Then a couple of weeks later I was sitting watching TV with my girlfriend, we had a glass-topped coffee table, and there was this plastic star thing sitting in the middle of it, and right in front of our eyes the fucking thing just started moving by itself. It slid a couple of inches down the table then stopped. The voices and noises may have just been neighbours or people outside and some kind of weird audio effect, but I've never been able to explain the star. Maybe some sort of vibration but I didn't feel anything.
  18. Come talk to me about reputation when you're old-timey enough to remember Scene Points.
  19. Did you go to their gig at the Tunnels? That was cruel. A lot of people who should have known better laughing up their sleeves. Myself included. We all got a bit swept away in the mob mentality on that one.
  20. I flicked through the first couple of pages. Man.... He really didn't get that people were taking the piss did he. I gave him a free Peavey amp once. I feel like I played a small part in their success.
  21. I was known as Elwood in real life for years, purely because of my username on here. Some people still call me it to this day, and it hasn't even been my username since about 2008.
