  1. Hey, this has happened to me a few times I'm sad to say. In fact one of my main guiTars has a break JUST LIKE THAT, and it was fixed by a pro who set it and glued it. No dowels, but they did do a nice job o the cosmetics. It's rock solid, strung with 13s and has been fine for years. It's a Gibson btw. So what papawookee says is 95% wrong. Get a few professional opinions and prices, let someone you trust fix it for you and itll be right as rain. But above all,
  2. Fixing the finish is fixing paint. Theres no more strength added, it just looks better. But done correctly the glue is stronger than the wood. So geta pro to fix it, all will be well again!
  3. Thanks guys, it's a pretty cool thing...
  4. you thinking about something like the Roy Buchanan tone?
  5. Thank the lord, someone danced with the ginger guy!
  6. Yeah, you should never write these things unless you're sober....
  7. Um, but this gig is a Friday, not a Saturday....
  8. They are up front about the volume thing when you book the gig. If you show up and play too loud after they've warned you, it's your fault. But it's a small room too, and if you play too loud it sounds like shit in there. Pull it back a bit and the acoustics are great. Even for an electric band....
  9. Because if you keep it at a sane level, they are cool with an electric band. It's the guy in a flat upstairs that's the problem.
  10. Not sure what you mean? I've always played solo gigs, this is relevant how?
  11. Nope, Bri. I'm not looking for a new backing band. And this show is gonna be a surprise....
  12. Yeah, I'm Changing my set up, and this is going go too. It's a Carter all- pull 12 string pedal steel guitar in basic black, custom made in Houston, Texas by Bud Carter himself. Comes with a road case and an extra case. All the parts are there and it works great. I'll even throw in a couple of lessons to get you started! Its a great pro grade instrument in excellent condition. I'm only selling it to fund a double neck that I've been lusting after. This one is in the sacred steel tuning in E, so it's perfect for rock or blues, as well as country. 1500 http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zwGbDs58xXI/TkeXGXUMZZI/AAAAAAAABBs/QmTSCk4OeG4/s1600/photo-784592.JPG
  13. Pro-el guitar amp stand, perfect for amps about the size of a deluxe reverb or a hot rod deluxe. Solid way to get your amp off the floor. 25. pics available, pm me for more information.
  14. Hey- Downsizing my setup, and I don't need this anymore. Flight case warehouse pedal board and road case. It's the large one, so it's 25 inches wide, 16 inches deep and more than tall enough for pedals and a pile of cables. New it was something like 120, take it off my hands for half that- 60. It's had some light use, but it works great and it's in good condition. No issues at all. Pm me for more information-
  15. Hey Graham, thanks for the positive feedback. The guys were really great last night, and Nina was fantastic as always but I felt like I was fighting that big amp and couldn't hear the steel guitar at all. I was playing by feel, not by ear- a dangerous way to play that steel guitar. Fingers crossed I was in tune!
  16. Working blues band needs a solid drummer with an interest in old school blues- muddy waters, howlin wolf, etc. Covers and originals, light travel, regular rehearsals. Reliable transportation required as well.
  17. fuel tank on my board. trouble free for years, built like a tank too-
  18. It's more like playing a house party than playing a gig- no stage, small space and lots of familiar faces. It's a great gig, and I think as long as we play music that people can dance too, it doesn't matter what it is.... But yeah, booked up far in advance.
  19. naw it isn't that heavy, it's got the smaller trannies in it because it's the non-reverb one. But I also have a couple of old bassman heads- 40 watts, sound killer and light as a feather!
  20. Yeah, but I've got an old Fender that actually works that's got your name on it!
  21. Need an amp? I can make you such a deal, Matt!
  22. Hey- My buddy Nick has one for sale, it's the real deal and on the spendy side- Fender Telecaster Thinline 1972 Sunburst Fender Guitars,
  23. Hey Mike, ready to settle this up? I got cash waitin, call me! I been texting, getting radio silence...
  24. Ok, the tunnels then. A double bill with the malpaso gang, the best country band in these parts with a tin pot trophy coveted by others to prove it...
