  1. I remmeber a girl once spent a whole night staring at me and my mate, even following us to a different part of the club when we moved cos it was getting freaky. Finally I went up to her to ask what she was staring at for and as I did a guy appeared who was sitting nearby who was her boyfriend and told me he was gonna "kick the shite out of me for trying ta chat up his bird." Thanks for reminding me of this!
  2. Red rag ta a bull this... I absolute hate this film. Clockwork Orange is probably the greatest book I've ever read and this film botches it so badly that if anyone but Krubrick had made it it would have been laughed out of all credibility. It has a superb performance by Malc but he's only being asked to spend the whole film played the same character he played in the last third of "If". The film misses out the last chapter therefore completely losing any point to the story. Violence is an ugly, clumsy thing: the violence in this is slick, choreographed, cartoon like, and also terribly shot. (Even most of the sound effects are out of sync!) Blimey he even misses out the reference to the title! And why does it all look like an episode of Blake's 7? The future won't look like that seeing as people are still living in tudor houses now. Burgess believed that the future the book predicted had already been and gone by the time the film was made anyway. The stage version with Phil Daniels was a billion times better. Kubrick may have done 178 takes of every shot but he made some right toss. Sorry, rant over, but that book is so good it deserved better than this pile of pretentious toss. It wasn't even banned as people seem to think, so there is nothing cool about it at all. Straw Dogs, now THERE'S a film...
  3. Ah Milne's...turns out the best girls in Morayshire. I'm back in Moray from Wednesday, and will be spending more time than usual in Elgin, where's good to drink there these days?
  4. With a surname like Farquhar and the misfortune of being sent to a school in England you can imagine. But otherwise my nickname has been Pye since I was a toddler.
  5. Adrian E is a complete prat. Hate this sort of tv but was amazed at how pretty Debra S is.
  6. Bugger think I'm in Aberdeen that night! Might not be though! ANy other dates?
  7. Maximo Park: Apply Some Pressure It's FAR TOO SHORT!!!!
  8. BUgger I'll be back in Moray for three weeks from the 16th...
  9. From memory the Sex Pistols, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, The Who, Phil Collins, Simply Red...
  10. Blipes. when I was there it had ceased teaching after the big cuts which led to a spate of suicides amongst staff and the forcing out of the Principal. How times change...
  11. Sorry when I said doesn't exist I meant as it no teaching or courses in music are done any more....or has this changed?
  12. Deffa Knightly as Chris Finch would say. I'm up for three weeks from the 16th! Tell Alan!
  13. Working mate. That's the only reason I would EVER have!
  14. Yes, they did do it and apparently it included interviews with Bowie and Ronson but I missed it! Missed loads of them, but Who's Next was absolutely fantastic!
  15. Is Roger "allegro...bravo" Williams still running the department? He has a pretty nice life all in all seeing as the music department doesn't exist any more: all he has to do is organise the concerts! Or has the music department finally reopened?
  16. Bugger, I forgot!!!! love this show, the who one was terrific but I missed the TRANSFORMER one...anyone??? The surprise hit of the series for me though was Face Value, it had such an interesting genesis, no pun intended.
  17. Blimey Radars....what a depressing place to spend a Sunday afternoon in that was. Went there once and two of our number got shockingly nasty food poisoning!
  18. I had never heard of him until I dated his great-great granddaughter or whatever she was. But since then I've discovered he's the geezer.
  19. Love Actually, Falling Down, Basic Instinct, Body of Evidence, When A Man Loves A Woman, Philladelphia, they are the worst films I have ever paiud money to see. I could not sit thorugh any of them again, all were an insult to my intelligence and all unjustifiably self-important.
  20. I used to be crazy about a big bagette one half stuffed with egg mayonnaise the other with cheddar and tomato, accompanied by a banana, a big tea and a Strawberry Nutrigrain. Then I started putting pounds on as I realised I was lunching on one of these every day so banned myself from them!
  21. From Straight Edgers to "Christian Voice" Newsnight tonight is looking into this lot... Apparently the Home Secretary has been asked to investigate 'Christian Voice', a pressure group which was trying to prevent Jerry Springer the Opera being shown on tv and has pressured a cancer care charity into refusing a donation from the production company. Apparently they have issued threats to BBC staff and are a little bit heavy handed. After having had the misfortune of hearing Christian metal once and once sharing a flat with a Slayer fan I have no sympathy with them.
  22. Cheese and banana, cheese and bacon, cheese and roast beef, cheese and ham, cheese and tomato. One of those!
