  1. I'm 24 and still hunger for it so I'm going to keep doing it. I think once you stop enjoying it then it's time to stop. Fuck stopping because you think you're too old to "make it" or whatever.

This man has the idea. Age should never be a barrier when it comes to something you love doing. The day you lose your enthusiasm, and it loses its fun, is the day you pack it in. Until then

  2. Well cheers for the nice personal attack on something that was just asking a question that was on my mind. Furthermore thankyou for the scene point about me being an ugly fucker' date=' well appreciated now maybe il go and put down my non existent bloke mags and have a shower, although like most guys i shower once a morning, why you somehow got the idea that because i thought hairstraighteners were a bit feminine that i was in that case gay, ugly and didnt shower is something quite fucking past my mind reading capabilities.

Honestly mate, i was just seeing what everyone thought about this, and to do that it made sense to state my opinion, by all means straighten and highlight your hair, go to the clubs and get laid every night, but why must you fucking be an asshole and say shit like you just did?? Christ i could spend all day looking at this immature ramble of opinionated garbage you have written, but why? You obviously have a chip on your shoulder for people who dont need to spend hours in a beauty salon but, thats not for me to say is it?????? :D

The irony is that my hair is naturally quite straight, light and gets blondish highlights from the sun. Furthermore, i play sports, i keep fit, and i dont really concern myself with how my hair is while im walking down the street, or what it looks like the minute i get out of a swimming pool.

Think about what you say, im sure your an alright guy, just fucking keep it inside yourself and you might find people will like you more :D:D[/quote']

I don't think it was so much what you asked, but more how you worded it. Had you left out comments like: "I mean fucking hell..." & "is it me or is it all a bit gay?" you would probably have found people responded in a more constructive and less agressive manner. Personally, I've used hair straighteners once or twice when my hair was longer and probably will again, when it re-grows - as my hair is thick, wiry and very unmanageable. I use some hair-care products and skin care products, dress pretty much how I like (usually jeans / t-shirt / shirt combo). I don't consider myself to be particularly gay - I like to call it being in touch with my inner woman ;) And for the record I am completely straight, but have no problem with any other sexuality, as I have friends of gay, straight, bi-sexual & A-sexual inclinations.

  3. I know this is going to be a long shot, but I don't suppose any of you fine people would be interested in a Celtic Rock band? I've been listening to Peatbog Faeries & Wolfstone recently abd would love to maybe start a small side project. I'd be on acoustic / electric guitar. Any takers for fiddle, bass, pipes, keys or drums? I'm not expecting many replies, but I guess it's worth a try.

    ~Andy

  4. Really? I was the other way round. It took a little time for "Chemical Wedding" to grow on me, but I love it now. This one on the other hand, I loved it after the 1st listen! Of the 9 full tracks, I can say I loved 7 of them 1st time around! Only two tracks on the album didn't really grab me as much, the title track and one other, perhaps the one you mentioned (I don't count the intro as a track)?

    ~Andy

*also on a side note, anyone have any of the re-masters with bonus material? I was thinking about getting accident of birth, but wondered if they have fixed the annoyance of tracks running into one another?*

  5. Hey has anyone else bought this? I just found out it had been released last week, and bought it the other day! It's fantastic, his best to date! I'm serious, Bruce and Roy have gone all out on this one! Bruce is undoubtedly at his peak, and even a collaberative effort with Maiden would be hard pushed to better this! Anyone else have it? Any thoughts?

    ~Andy

  6. I don't know exactly what the original punk movement stood for (ask HummerOfIntenseEvil) but I'm pretty sure that it wasn't ridiculous baggy shorts, refusing to tidy your room / eat your vegetables or about going to the movies with your girlfriend. And Nirvana were certainly not a Punk band, they were the ones who took Grunge from the underground to the masses.

  7. Type of Music: Mellow, Acoustic Guitar stuff, Hard Rock, Melodic Metal, Cheese Rock, and maybe a little instrumentalisation. Basically want to do a mix of things, nothing set in one particular direction.

Influences: ACDC, Aerosmith, Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden, Helloween, Megadeth, GN'R, L.A. Guns, Poison, Motley Crue, WASP, Hanoi Rocks, Alice Cooper, Faster Pussycat, Skid Row, Slash's snakepit, Velvet Revolver, The Cult, Buckcherry, Gamma Ray, Hammerfall, Dire Straights, Brides of Destruction, Masterplan, Ugly Kid Joe, Marty Friedman, Stone Temple Pilots, Loaded, Oasis, Buckethead, Alanis Morrisette, Buddy Holly, Bowling for Soup, Greenday, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Dio, Pink Floyd, The Darkness, ASAP, NightWish, JS Bach, Handel, The Beach Boys, Tonci Huiljic, Rolling Stones, Joe Satriani, R.E.M, Mozart, Hans Zimmer, Jason Becker, Raphsody, Rachmaninov, Steve Vai, Steve Morse, Paul Mounsey, WolfStone, Duncan Chisholm, Peatbog Faeries, Sheryl Crowe, Barry Whyte, Black Atom (local band), HIM, Enya, Eva Cassidy, The Monkees

Hope that clear it up for you, Andy

P.S. And I'm open to ideas, if you have any particular ideas then I'd be glad to hear them.

  8. i dont imagine any 'punk' guitarists would ever waste time ''learning all those scales / chords etc

if they did then they would be proper musicians pretending to be punks' date=' usually adopting the label to try to add cred to thier shitty metal and emo[/quote']

that's just the thing though! Some of them can! Billy Joe can solo, and Steve Jones played some decent guitar parts on BuckCherry's debut album. And why would an accomplished metal player adopt a punk label to add "cred" to their music? Why would you want people to percieve you as a musically inept moron?

  9. Excellent stuff you'v got there Andy' date='i really like it and would love to see it being played at a gig, very cool man.[/quote']

thanks man, anything you could note to improve on? (other than using too much gain on some tracks and the recording quality)

    ~Andy

  10. Hey guys, I just quickly recorded some Riffs that've been kicking around in my head a little while. Anyone want to take a quick listen and whack out some constructive criticism? Bear in mind there is only one guitar and they are just Riff ideas, they are not mean to be complete songs. Riffs 1-4

    Thanks, Andy

  11. mmm... this is interesting.. obviously the term 'punk' has changed a lot in the last 29 years :D

What does punk mean now ? (serious question)

To me it was about the ability for anyone to have a go at making music irrespective of the ability to play an instrument. Folks like The Pistols and Damned used to have the names of the note and strings painted/tippexed onto their instruments to get through a set...

The idea of a solo (and a repeatable one) was heading back towards the prog rock movement that kick started punk into life...

A lot of people see paralles in the acid house movement and dance genres of the late '80s and early '90s for similar reasons..

I've obviously missed a lot... where did punk lose its way ?

Good call, also how did punk get from leather, daft hair cuts, safety pins as jewellery and rebellion to daft twats in stupid baggy shorts and caps bitching about their girlfriend dumping them or stealing their milkshake or something??

  12. most guitarists who get as far as a record deal can usually play quite a bit, they just choose not too most of the time... This has always confused me a little actually, why bother learning all those interesting chords, scales, techniques, if all you're going to use is palm-muting and 3 chords??

  13. lol ok guys' date='yes a SERIOUS band.and there will be alot of alchohol consumption.so is anyone interested? il be goin to the music college after summer aswell so i might see a few of you there.later dudes [/quote']

which music college? the one in Perth?
