  1. Um isn't that a bit of a sweeping statement saying you hate 80s singing? There were hundreds of bands around in the 80s and hundreds of different vocal styles. But I'm assuming you're referring to the sort of vocals heard on 80s power ballads? I'm gonna go out an a limb here... I like it! Yeah it's cheesy, but it's great sing along material :D

  2. Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny Of Souls (Brilliant, Bruce has outdone himself again)

HammerFall - Chapter V (Decent, but a bit samey. Could have been better)

    So far...

and am eagerly awaiting Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys Part III , as Helloween are probably my favourite metal band, and in my top 3 all-time favourite bands!

    :D

  3. Funny you should bring this up! I found 3 old thunder cats videos at a car-boot sale the other month! 50p each, bargain!!!! Thunder Cats was awesome! Cartoons just ain't the same today.... (with the exception of a few Toonami ones and Sponge Bob!!!!) Heh, I'll never be too old for cartoons! :D

  4. i don't really like guitar solos but i like the solos weezer play.

I didn't say Guitar solos, I said solos, meaning all instruments. And I don't count playing the vocal melody on Guitar as a solo :p

    On that note I'll add:

Michael Monroe (Saxaphone) / A Day Late, A Dollar Short (Hanoi Rocks)

  5. well I saw it today. I think it was good, but not as good as I expected. I enjoyed the build up to him actually becoming Batman. Despite what was said, I actually liked Liam Neeson's part in the film. I just kind of felt that after his becoming Batman, the film kind of went into "standard super hero movie" mode. But in saying that it was still enjoyable, but I have to say I prefer the Michael Keaton ones.

  6. Personally I think you need a balance between the two. I agree that recording music offline offers a far wider scope of possibilities, but I still don't see why you shouldn't play live. Music started off as a live experience, and you could argue that we've moved on since then, but I definately think a good live performance will captivate a listener more-so than the best of recordings. Some of my own song ideas can quite easily be re-created in a live environment, but others with a greater range of textures, will be better suited to a studio recording only (unless the basic idea can be produced live, minus the finer details). I think you need to the right balance between artistic endeavour and self endulgence. To me, music is as much about having a laugh as being intelligent and creative.

  7. hey man! we are currently looking for a singer to complete a 5 piece line up! We all ready have 2 Guitars, Bass and Drums. We'll be playing Hard Rock / Metal to Rock N' Roll! And we definately want a good powerful melodic vocalist, none of that screaming / growling nonsense. If you're interested, PM or 07906319557

  8. 2) the atmosphere at a live gig is like nothing else!

The moon wins over most gigs I've seen.

    3) it's a good way to promote your recordings

    WAS a good way' date=' not is![/quote']

    2) you are obviously not a music enthusiast, or are very hard to please

    3) depends on context: relatively unknown local bands can't just make a music video and post it off to kerrang or mtv. the best way to get noticed is to put about a bad ass live act. but yes, I can see your point that recently signed bands could promote their music in more effective ways.

  9. Hey guys, we currently a have a four piece Rock band (2 guitar / bass / drums) and are looking for a singer to complete the lineup. We'll be playing mainly original material but the occasional cover. Basically we're not looking for the full-on Axl Rose or Ozzy Osbourne, just someone with a half decent voice who can stay in tune.

    Cheers: Andy, Grant, Jerry, Mouka
