  1. don't worry dude - i'm just bored and need to find something better to do with my time.
  2. i love the cross post confusion - hobbes was talking about Gilly's cousin and qzdiablo and SSR thought they were talking about the wedding invite... i think?
  3. hmmmmmmm gotta love it. picky bastard eh?
  4. truth hurts though! admit it - you wish you'd just gone and bought the standard version instead!
  5. so really whatever he wants to do he's screwed unless he finds an exact copy of his guitar with the pickups that he's wanting to try in it...
  6. incidentally www.gak.co.uk are currently selling the line6 spider II 210 for 240 brand new
  7. surely the main thing about hot rails is the fact that they're active - i'm certain you can get "cool" rails as well which are like passive humbuckers as i'm certain at the moment extra routing is not high on the agenda of things to do?!
  8. thing is...i quite like solid state amps (yeah yeah i know - clearly never played a Valve amp at gigging volume etc etc ) and i know i'm a clumsy bastard who wouldn't ever do the warm up/standby thing and just ruin the valves! I've played a crate amp before and really enjoyed the sounds i got out of it - does this make me a bad person? I also tried the bigger version of the Line6 Spider and thought it was great - especially with the guitar that i was playing (schecter C1 Elite - gorgeous! ) but wasn't impressed with the little version of it (the 30W (??)) as Tav will testify. It had this thing that whenever you changed the channel it leapt up to full volume...nae fine! and Paul - i've been looking at Randall amps as well fight you to get there first!
  9. thanks for that danny! i broke my laney bass amp - it managed to last 3 years, a tour and several long car drives though!
  10. I'm just looking for an amp with a good clean sound - anything other than that is a bonus! most of my stuff is quite "metal" in style but i do like playing some bluesy stuff - not very good at it however! but yeah - thanks for the suggestion and i'll keep an eye out on the classifieds!
  11. really? any suggestions on what i should look out for then?
  12. I'm looking at (finally) getting a guitar amp because i'm fed up running my guitar through my crappy bass amp. (and i broke the good amp as well ) so i was looking for recommendations - i'm trying not to spend more than 250 on one and it will possibly be used for gigging so It doesn't have to be quiet - the most "bang for the buck" (arf!) is what i'm looking for. It doesn't matter if it has onboard effects and i'm not really interested in a good reverb since i never really use it! brand names are also unimportant, but volume and a good tone are essential! been looking at Crate, Line six and Hughes&Kettner amps Crate GT 212 Line6 Spider II 112 and from an american website (that i think do shipping to the uk) the H&K Warp7 212 combo ($299 - shipping could put it above budget...) any other suggestions? Mark
  13. I'd really consider viewing this before you do...
  14. it's really weird when you go to the neighbours website and have a look at all the old characters and go "holy crap on a stick! i remember them!" i used to fancy annalise and her sister when i was little
  15. i think dianne picked up on it because of the fact that it's misleading and makes MMw seem like they've been around for ages and are a well established act when in fact they haven't been around that long "on the scene"...don't know if there's anything else to it and to be honest it's none of my business. Mark.
  16. enlighten me - what are scallops again - i know it's to do with removing wood from the neck of your guitar but whereabouts? where on the neck/fretboard is it done?
  17. I'm not alone! yay for CRT!
  18. consider myself educated! ummm i dunno what else it could be then! (apart from the downhill slump in sales )
