  1. Ok... I was selling merch upstairs so I didnt catch any of Gilman St, but seen them before and to be honest, don't realy care for them that much. Gone 2 far, again, missed them cus of merch and I couldn't really be assed going down to see them. But I could hear them a little upstairs and they sound like they have potential. 10 easy wishes are good, I like them. Their new songs are quite good, but I would've liked to hear come older ones off the CD so I could sing along...I didn't really watch much of their set cus I had to keep an eye on the merch stand, but they were good as far as I heard. Broken Sunshine's acoustic set went really well I think! I didn't know how the audience would take it but I've had some good feedback. It was a shame Lisa lost her voice though, that's why rachel was singing, but rach did really well for being roped in yesterday! So we thank her for that.
  2. It was 2 of broken sunshine + rachel (norman's fetish) and then 1 of broken sunshine + tom for a few songs. Then just the 2 of broken sunshine...twas a lot of traffic on those little stairs, but I was sitting onstage for the whole set. That's a good thing cus I'm way too small for those big chairs!
  3. 10 easy wishes, gilman st, gone 2 far and some acoustic folk (2/3 broken sunshine + tom + rachel) Comments....?
  4. I agree about the 2nd guitarist thing...on most of the songs I saw, he was just standing there doing nothing. He looked a bit out of place really-include him...he could be useful
  5. Dont quit the band!!! That's a stupid thing to do. I've almost quit my band twice cus of this and that, but I'm so glad I didn't cus we've come so far now and it's great! Just cus he thinks he did a bad show, it doesnt mean they're all gonna be bad. As I said, experience etc...
  6. I was there...I was selling merch upstairs so i didn't really hear much of your set. However being a major Fenix TX fan I heard the start of your cover and ran down to hear it. I am a huge fan of them, (remember that before you hate me for what I say)...I didn't really think the singers voice was right for that song. I could hear it straining a bit. I heard you do a blink cover too, which is cool...but cus they're so popular and well known I didn't really think that was a good idea. Just my opinion though! Cus everyone there would know the song and be able to notice mistakes easily. Personally, I think doing covers at gigs is a bad idea. People are probably wanting to hear your original stuff, rather than covers. They can just listen to the covers at home, so they probably wont wanna pay to see a band do a few covers rather than all their original stuff. Also, the audience may come away with opinions of your covers, kinda like me, rather than opinions of your own songs. I remember our first gig in Kef was scary and we put ourselves down too. But dont, cus it always seems worse to you onstage than it does to the audience. Now, I'm gonna do the really patronising thing and say what lots of people used to say about us: you'll get better with time and practice and experience.
  7. Broken sunshine anybody? Hehe...we could take McQueen...or not.
  8. Rawk \m/ Should be great fun!!!
  9. Unfortunatly, operation washout are no more-ish...ewan lives in another place so its hard... But there's another band on the go called Captain Kate (I think that's the spelling...) with Tom and Mikel and a few folk from glasgow.
  10. I thought the No Pints were ace, as usual! 5 Finger Discount kicked butt for their first gig, I had no idea what they would sound like and I was pleasantly surprised...I didnt know Ruari sang too which was a bonus! Unfortunately missed the Dangerfields which sucked cus they're a great band. But the 3rd band of the night (forgotten their name) were awesome! Brilliant songs and they were altogether a rocking band
  11. Hahaha...you rock Kirk!! Same goes to you, even though you weren't playing bass! (yes, I'm happy now )
  12. Ooh there shall be a rematch...oh yes! Bring it on Kirk...but next time, dont suck up to other bands who are wearing other bands' t-shirts. You wouldnt catch me doing that!! Ha! I didn't think you thought I was being mean...I was just trying to find my memory of the other night! I sing along to AFI all the time and go crazy if I ever hear them played anywhere....ah, you should've seen me the time they played Days of the Phoenix in Henry J Beans-I have Stuart as a very scared witness. Hehe.
  13. Bastards if it is cancelled. They should fucking tell the promoters before they find out from other people. So that they dont go to the trouble of organising and promoting it. And, not to mention getting the support bands and fans hyped up about something that turns out might not happen. I get pissed off about this.
  14. Ooooh Yeah!!! I'm winning!!! Hehe, beat that Kirk! I remember thinking about laughing at you Leckie, cus I could hear you singing from the toilets, hehe! ...but did I actually go up to you and say something? Sorry...I think I was having short term memory loss that night cus there were so many incidents where I thought I'd done something and it turned out I didnt, and vice versa. Anyway... I win Kirk!
  15. I agree with Kirk, but we were told to go on at 9, to my, and it seems everyone elses, surprise. Kirk and I have a DJ-ing duel going on...so I would say they were all my songs that Camie liked, hehe...maybe some of yours too, Kirk...but I did see Camie singing along to most of mine- HA! The Duel is on...oh yes, the duel is on...
  16. Wow!! I'm so excited! I'm beaming YAY!!!!
  17. I went to this gig last night and was completely blown away! It was one of the best gigs I've been to in a while. To start with The No Pints were great! I've only seen them once before and this was somewhere where the sound system wasn't that good, but last night they were a whole load better. Especially liking Tarrant off TV. And...the bassist looked especially handsome (there ya go Kirk!) Second on were Midasuno. Even with their technical problems at the start of the set I found these Welsh guys amazing! Last night was the first time I've seen them and I'll be going to every gig they play in Aberdeen from now on. I bought their CD and, as good as it is, they put on a better live show. There's nothing negative I can say about them Karloff were on third. I havn't seen them before and I found them awesome too! Their misfits style songs are very easy to love. And I like the weird head on a stick thing...and the blood was also very cool. Monkey Boy were also brilliant as usual. We played our first gig with them back in November and I think last night they were even better than the last time! They also put on a great live show, dedicating every song to a different movie monster. Anyone else enjoy last night?
  18. Im guessing that's at 1pm? Are they playing a gig that night or are they just doing stuff in one up?
  19. Um...I dont usually like that kinda thing...really...It's just recently I've started listening to TBS and stuff, so I'm still kinda freaked out...it didnt used to be me :O
  20. Ok, weird...I really like it :O
  21. The best song EVER!! Why didn't I think of that?!
