  1. Get a mortgage, if you possibly can. My payment on a 1 bedroomed flat is 215.
  2. I'm getting a Creative Zen Micro delivered tomorrow. Every thing I've read and everyone I've talked to has recommended Creative over Apple. The only plus I could find about the iPod was that it's easier to navigate. Oh, and supposedly it looks cool. Who knew? www.advancedmp3players for me too, but only because eBuyer were out of stock until after Christmas.
  3. 1) Stop being so weak... this encompasses my laziness, study and eating habits 2) Maintain my groovy relationship. 3) Learn bass. 4) Learn to tolerate cinema goers. 5) Attend a music festival.
  4. It's all very well saying, "just get your hours cut." I'm on a 12 hour contract. My dept. manager has been giving all the uni students anything from 18 to 31 hours a week. When I told her that I *couldn't* do any more than 12, she just giggled and said, "I'll do my bestest." Rargh. But enough of my petulant ranting.
  5. Dominoes for me. Free dip! I don't like PHD. They don't taste very nice and they couldn't find my house.
  6. I got Trumpy Berry-Elf. Not impressed. My boyfriend got Cutie Floppy-Fairy. Much hilarity ensued.
  7. Bulshit. Love comes from knowing someone inside out. You obviously don't know them at all when you first meet them.
  8. Nah, he wasn't bald. He had an unusual band tee on but I can't remember what the band was.
  9. Exodus, although not busier, is far too cramped. I'd rather be in a Moshulu that was dead, as that way I can find a comfy seat and talk to the people I'm with without having to deafen myself. I'm not out to look for a member of the opposite sex to flirt with these days, so I don't care if there's a lot of people or not. I'm also not fussed if it's all little goths with eyeliner and posers who want to talk about how much JD they've had. As long as I'm with my mates what does it matter? Anyway, to look at me the stereotypers would probably include me in the "goth with eyeliner" bracket. Thing is, I'm not afraid to look happy. Come to mention it, Moshulu was really busy last Friday and a drunk guy came up, propositioned me and then fell asleep for almost an hour. Does anyone recognise themselves? I'm just curious. We were amazed at how he could have slept sitting up with the loud music.
  10. Good things about 2004: - Started the year getting to know a young man, and we're still together. One day he didn't bother going home and now he lives with me. Seeing him find a rewarding job has made me happy too. - Passed second year of uni and won a prize for being so academical. - Said prize and merit bursary keeping me in the black almost all year. - Went to Canada for two weeks and did all kinds of stuff that I never thought I'd get to do. - Lots of great nights out with people that enjoy the same places I do for once. - I made lots of friends through uni and my boyfriend. - A few good gigs, some not so good. - Speculative applying to seemingly groovy employers got me a great student job and an improved social life. - I left my horrible horrible job selling ties and pashminas to Aberdeen's "elite" Not so good things: - Had to endure said tie selling job for seven months of the year. - Having conjunctivitis over New Year and being away from everyone that I wanted to be with. - Spent more than I should have. - Haven't seen my parents as often as I'd like. This has been my best year so far.
  11. Guilty pleasures... I think the Girls Aloud single that came out a while back was quite catchy. (A cover of Love Machine, I think) Also, Back In the Mud by Bubba Sparxxx is one of those songs from a genre that I usually dislike that's just aaace. I can't think of anything else... I guess some peoples guilty pleasures are others innocent ones.
  12. Yeah it was just a random word that popped into my head when I was registering... then someone pointed out the dirty meaning of it and I was embarrassed.

    Nostalgia

I really don't have the knowledge of local music that you guys do but going back to attendance... I think that the whole gig-going audience's average age is going down and this is bound to have a effect on things . More often than not I look like one of the oldest there (depending on course on the band and how "cool" they're seen to be) and I'm only 19. One recent gig at Drakes I attended cleared out at around 11. Whether people have curfew or First are providing a crappy service with regard to buses I don't know, but these people missed the best band of the night. It made me sad. I'm not saying that I don't think younger people should attend gigs- it's great and I wish I'd lived in Aberdeen when I was 14/15. I think the issue I'm mentioning - for no real reason, but meh - is more that bands are perhaps having to rely on (or are appealing more to?) younger fans.
  14. I love snow. And Oor Wullie. Hence this has been a joyous thread reading experience.
  15. I was coerced into watching it by someone who felt that it was in my own best interests to do so. It was better than expected, but I still think it's more male humour.
  16. I'm from Peterhead, and there's nothing wrong with me... *cough*
  17. Muse - Absolution *waits for backlash to begin*
  18. I don't have any red on at all... that's unusual ?(
