  1. i was hoping this thread would include tips on players but with it being a competition i can't see that happening! i'm pretty much just gonna do an auto team and hope for the best.
  2. stiff competition for wizard, think i could get a refund?! o_O Cawdor Castle Official Website - News from Cawdor Castle - Nairn, Scotland
  3. same could be said for the dandy dons. default rules!
  4. ha ha, yeah i agree it'd make more sense to get a dig in if he was turning into the scottish born to scottish parents lived in scotland all his life irish Messi. i am aware of the story of how he came to the irish setup but did also read that then as you said it seemed to be more of a technicality he didn't play after signing for celtic. on one side it's hard to understand how him (& mccarthy for that matter) would turn down the chance to play for your country. (similar story with mccarthy.) just kinda expect some allegiance/loyalty to where you were born, raised your whole life & parentage. i'd feel an imposter to represent ireland but then on the flip side if it was berti vogts trying to convince me to join a team with the delights of pressley/wilkie then...! i suppose i'd feel less pressure representing them as i would for scotland. despite the "oh they asked me first" attitude i really think it comes down to who you wanna play for, and get a game for if you're like those english guys turning out for scotland cos they'd no chance with england. i can see the point of view that scotland may seen unlikely to qualify for another major tournament and ireland did quality for WC 2002 & a touch unlucky to miss out this year. there's plenty of greats never to have graced a major tournament. france did pretty well in the past with players brought into their country. the whole eligibility thing is a bit weird these days, for other sports / olympics too.
  5. true dat. would probably accept less wages in premeirship over move to russia as i can't see anything too glamorous about moving there for a few years for a young loon scottish through and through. (if i knew how to strike through i'd replace that with irish).this pretty much sums it up, although whether villa go for him may depend on milner's future? aiden-mcgeady-yet-to-decide-on-spartak-moscow-move-with didn't realise he has a "family". i also reckon he'd have same problem as o'connor. i mean the boys never lived out of glasgow/scotland as far as i'm aware (unless i'm missing time spent in his home country of ireland?)
  6. is anyone preparing for a bet on league winners of a shit load of leagues? been a while since i've read of someone winning a shed load and usually they stick bets on loads of combinations. i guess league positions is another one to ponder, then the usual relegation/promotion.etc. anyway i'm gonna check out odds etc then maybe have a punt on same top 4 in premiership, can't believe City are 3rd favourites to win & still no great faith in liverpool. can see blackpool going down, i guess the odds of 5000/1 on them winning says it all. spl - would hope dons get back into europe but that will be down to our ability to overcome the considered "smaller" teams & match the bigger ones which didn't happen last time round. again failure in both domestic cups. must "achieve" top six. would be monumental to see old firm fail in title but can't see it happening. despite no great confidence in lennon i reckon they'll somehow win the title. will see if there's any templates for the league thing kicking around net or just make up my own UK & selected euro leagues...
  7. Do it. not for the football though. obviously. willie miller needs your cash to fund another failed business venture. Skippers rules. if you're gonna get one with yer "student" card then it's nae bad value really.
  8. just noticed, had heard about something union terrace gardens thing but didn't know much or that there was a weekend of events... http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/nmsruntime/saveasdialog.asp?lID=30972&sID=13942
  9. ha ha, it was sitting on my pc all afternoon unfinished so just ended up posting it before i left. i do realise that you can record off the streaming of audio but it's a hell of a lot easier for average joe to rip a CD. RF Scott - did you do the Report Item thing through eBay to remove the listings of your promos and they did it quickly? What options did you choose? I also find it amusing the guy wants to charge 50p more for a used promo! free korps items - Get great deals on CD Promos items on eBay.co.uk Shops! can also see on the scanned in cover the small print on the bottom. "For promotional use only, not for resale"
  10. i am amused that you could buy one of my bands CDs on eBay from someone that clearly sells all the samplers they receive, with over 24,000 on sale at the moment! rather than these samplers why not give journalists secure password protected time limited access to streaming of new albums? surely the technology exists to do this. and if you really wanted to catch out the source of a leak why not send out copies of new promo album with tiny noise in there that could uniquely identify the copy number used in the copy. again if you wanted to be that careful you'd be able to drop some in some reference that wouldn't be heard on initial/normal listens to album but could be boosted up and heard clearly if you knew where to listen.
  11. i was wondering whether the match last night would've been streamed, just it decent enough quality to watch? i noticed that celtic are using season tickets for the match to boost numbers too, great to see a reward for signing up, and them trying to get big crowd for mega important match, so may be a good idea it not being on tv too but perhaps they could do with a few quid from it?! The perks with most ST's are usually limited to first dibs on away tickets/cup matches alongside supporters groups. also failed to see the bit on the celtic website about management team to check if there was any info on them before i posted. i'm not bothered about lennon at celtic in that i'm not a fan but when a team with the greatest supporters in the world rely on a rookie it's a bit of a gamble, a la Barnes. i'm sure rangers fan would be concerned with davie weir taking over in two years after only being a rookie coach as would dons fans in a similar scenario although we'd prob take any "legend". still sometimes these things work. player/managers are a breed of the past but sometimes successful shortly after their career and then concentrate on management.
  12. some class comments on that article. is Celtic match on tv next week or another net stream jobbie? is 2 "friendly" matches in the Emirates Cup on Saturday/Sunday a good idea before return match on Wed? must have big squad / only take one of them seriously? Kinda agree Lennon is another Barnes so far as actual managerial record goes. And with his back room staff being 3 former team mates, again relatively young guys with very little coaching experience as far as i know. As a "big" club I'd be a bit concerned that there isn't anyone there to mentor/advise them more. When McCoist ends up getting huns job at least he's had a bit more experience. but then it's not my concern, euro failure ain't great for scottish fitba though, would be quite happy for the OF to wait til 1/4 finals before disgracing themselves. maybe this seasons SPL will be more competitive than usual but never seems to end up that way. ps no shots on goal. strangers on the pitch. new boy gives away pen. mulgrew shite, sounds like a dons match report & obviously wisna on tv!
  13. didn't know where to post this but very sad news. TRIBUTES were today paid to Aberdeen woman Sarah Middleton, who died after being found seriously injured in a city centre nightclub. 14. sorry was just continuing on from other thread!
  15. if only i'd seen this post i'd've bought tickets. dam you bsp, it's you i wanted to see!
  16. i remember that hence wasn't too pooped, just on my merry way...
  17. i've got to convince my mum not to go to that so i can have the ticket i bought her! seen them last time so wasn't bothered until BSP announced as support, by then, too late. boo.
  18. 60 votes behind now. usually i'd vote for the hottest act!
  19. that is a surprise, i've had no intention of watching it as i seen it as a pointless exercise.
  20. thought Inception was a good film worth watching in cinema. the ideas/concepts not exactly groundbreaking but was largely impressed with cinematograhpy(sp?). there have been a few comparisons with other movies but none(i've seen) mention some of the ones I was thinking of Nightmare on Elm Street, shared dream with Freddy (yeah i know he's dead & if you die, you die!), Total Recall and also vanilla sky. perhaps i'm way off the mark as i'm sure there are probably loads other better examples like the constantly mentioned Matrix.etc.
  21. tell that to the fantasy league assemblers (yeah the official premier league one i'm talking to you) i was wondering why i couldn't find him as a defender!
  22. but he's here and wearing one of our jumpers, surely he has no shame! Former England Internationalist | Club News | Club News | News and Features | Aberdeen
