  1. Never used practise rooms regulary in aberdeen before August 2002 when we moved to manchester, but there as you can imagine we had choice & price on our side. we ended up using the same practise place as Elbow, Longview, etc. prices start from 20 for four hours, and there were plenty of rooms to get a regular slot sorted. first of all well done to captain toms for realising that aberdeen had no facilities to offer the numerous bands that probably had to make do with garages & bedrooms. but coming back to his prices was a shock, four hours for 56 is certainly a massive difference even if you are only practising one night a week (but we could practise for twice that in mcr & still have 16 leftover!). anyway it's good to see that there are a few alternatives opened up since i came back to aberdeen, prices still not great but if you can get away with charging 14 per hour & still get the same number of bands through the door then why change? I think it says a lot that in theory if aberdeen became over-ran with hundreds of drummers without noise proof bedrooms/garages then toms would only be charging them 7 per hour to practise, I'd like to see that happen, they can obviously live off of 7 per hour but it's easy to charge bands double. suppose it encourages a 3-piece band to get an extra guitarist & back-up singer & keyboard player, etc, not to add to the quality of the music, but to reduce the cost for each band member to practise!!!
  2. so are you're hoping that any music playing aberdeen fans will respond or you reckon they'll be put off slighty by your username(regardless of whether it's an unfortunate coincidence!) ? just a thought.
  3. Is there any way of buying one ticket without adding on 7.20 to a "17.00" ticket?
  4. the music industry needs a few odd-ball dodgy characters living the crazy lifestyle as opposed to ott wannabe Rock Star Peace Amassadors of the world, who have the cheek to complain about poverty then charge you 70 to see them perform... anyway i dont know much about Pete's life but (correct me if i'm wrong), if you have to steal from your friends to feed your habit then you're pretty f-cked up & lacking some ethics / morales. still i've never walked in his shoes so who am i to judge.
  5. I'm going on Sunday night to see J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr.
  6. Perhaps something like: Prices start from 8.33* per hour *when booking 3 hour blocks would have been less offending? although saying that, i dont know what happens when you book 6 hours, 50 or perhaps the price is negotiable?!
  7. book two hours then it'll cost 20 = (10 per hour x 2 hours) book three hours then it'll cost 25 = (25 / 3 hours = 8.33 per hour) Next week' date=' adding & subtracting. i'm quoting the website here: Prices start at just 8 an hour. Rehearsal time at The Lok-Up is charged at 10 per hour or three hours for 25 For further information call (01224) 575084 or email [email']info@the-lok-up.com So what exactly doesnt make sense? Do you think the website should say "Prices start from 8.33 per hour" ?
  8. Prices start from 8 per hour. If you book 3 hours it costs 25, so effectively 8.33 per hour. Otherwise price per hour is 10.
  9. what do yous think? www.righthandleft.co.uk it does need more tweaking but I had to put something online to get some feedback...
  10. if you cant make it to the Liquid rooms you should tag along with their "superfan" to another gig in the tour, i know a girl that goes to every BSP gig on all their tours, including America, is that dedication or just plain crazy?! just bought the Open Season album today!
  11. think it'll be either The X-Certs + Myopia + Right Hand Left + Turning 13 or Turning 13 + Myopia + Right Hand Left + The X-Certs if its between 8pm & 11pm then start times will be roughly 8.15pm, 9pm, 9.45pm and last band on at 10.30pm.
  12. Right Hand Left + Myopia + The X-Certs + Turning 13 The Tunnels, Aberdeen Wed 6th April 2005 8pm doors open. 2 entry.
  13. I was really looking forward to watching "Right Hand Left" and was not disappointed. Hard to believe its their first gig & the first time the frontman hasnt been on stage playing the drums, nice transition to guitar & vox!
