  1. Don't know about the guitar parts, but you are wrong about the lyrics. The song was written during sessions in Headley Grange, an old mansion in Hampshire. They were there during the winter, and it was so cold that they were forced to burn pieces of the staircases banisters to keep warm. Apparently Plant wrote the lyrics for it while sitting on a stool in front of the fire. This is all according to the August 2003 edition of Total Guitar(issue 112). Also, apparently some of the guitar parts are major rip offs of a song. I forget the name of it though. Never mind, I'll find out at some point.
  2. Embarrasingly, Korn. Twas the Untouchables tour, 11/9/2002 at the SECC. Trust Co. and Puddle of Mudd were supporting. I hated every minute until Korn came on. Ever heard Puddle of Mudds real vocals? It's the funniest thing you'll ever hear. Ha, the shite 14 year olds listen to. First (sort of)local gig was when Skindred played Lava. Think it was in the middle of Feb, 2003. Support was Element 106, Bonesaw, and Risactonia. Loved every minute of it!
  3. The B2TF thing was posted up by Frosty because I fucked up my description of the amp by saying I bought it on the 21/12/2004, which, of course, is impossible. How much would you deduct for a trade in, because I will be buying a H&K Warp 112 depending on the amount.

    Evac seeks bassist

    I haven't scared people away, have I?
  5. One previous owner... The wonders of posting in a hurry, thats all I can say. Oh, and the addition of stupidity.
  6. After being in the shop yesterday, I must say, it's shaping up to be a fucking excelent shop. One question though, do you guys buy in second hand stuff, cause I need to raise a wee bit of money. If yes, I have a Marshall MG 15DFX amp that I would be interested in selling off, absolutely fuck all wrong with it, instruction booklet intact, but unfortunately no box (well, maybe somewhere, but I can't think where). It was bought on the 21/12/2002, but as I said, is in great condition. How much would you guys pay for that?

    Evac seeks bassist

Just as a side note, if you are not applying for this post, or not making a useful comment, then do us a favour and don't post here. Not meaning to be a bastard, but I have no time for the "Oh, you're looking for someone, but you didn't take them on" style posts. Don't know about anyone else, but it gives me a major fucking headache. We are seriously in need of a bassist, so, as above, if you match the criteria give any of us a shout, and we shall see.

    Evac seeks bassist

Right, lets make a quick note here. Contradictory to what Stu posted, we want someone with atleast some extreme music in their taste. Yeah, ok, we said open minded musicians, but there must atleast be a relative interest in extreme genres. If there is no link to what the rest of us are up to, then we are not interested.

    Evac seeks bassist

Come on, someone must be interested!
  10. Thats exactly what I was thinking. Same mistake made in the Drakes forum as well. Hhhmmm... to be perfectly honest, theres no easy explination for this, and I really can't be assed even attempting to give an indepth description of our sound. If you want any info, I suggest searching for a thread entitled "Heavy Listeners: Opinions Wanted". This has details of a few of our songs somewhere there. Our influences are also listed in the gig announcement in the Drakes forum. On another note, I just noticed that the band has been mistakingly called Excavating Heaven on a few occassions. Probably really my bad for not pointing that out. * Hopes like fuck it is a mistake and that there is not a band that goes by the name of Excavating Heaven who happen to be playing that gig instead of Evac. If so, my apologies. I'm only a guitarist after all! *
  11. That was a fucking class gig!! Wasn't too fond of Strobbing Goat. They got a bit repetative in my eyes. Wasn't really in the mood for that sort of stuff, but they still sounded cool. Fighting Shit were fucking awesome. Shame about the vocalist getting clocked, but these things happen I guess. Huge respect for the guy coming back on once he had recovered a bit. And as for Filthpact, fucking great also. As Stu said, the band seems to improve at every gig. THe gig on the 16th of sept sounds fucking great, which sucks for myself, because I have to be in New York for the whole of that week. Grrr
  12. Oh dear fuck, I have yet to experience Valhella, so I shall deffinately be there, head banging away as always!
  13. I'm sure I saw it on the planner thing recently. Never watched it though, because I always get bored of Tv before it comes on. As for air guitar... 43% Burnt by The DEP Angel of Death by Slayer Ah fuck it.... who cares. The only time I "play" air guitar is when I know the song being played. Yeah, yeah, it looks stupid as fuck standing trying to replicate the fretting of a song on a non-existant guitar, but atleast it's not as bad as some poses people pull off
  14. Bugger, is there any intention to sell heavier slinkys?
  15. You sir, are great! Does this count for all styles of slinkys?
  16. Em... I think he meant the link in regards to the Model 7, as the link you attached was to your Yamaha SG.
  17. Aphex Twin - 4 But gonna put it onto Milkman in a minute. Fucking great song. Then Beetles. And perhaps a swich of albums to Drukqs. Bitchin'
  18. Consider me there. Looks like a class gig!
  19. Due to lack of things to do I gues I might as well enter my details into this thread. Musical Experience I've played the guitar for 2 years this month, and I'm still as shit as the day I picked it up. Equipment Instruments B.C Rich Mick Thompson Signature Worlock (Alpha Edition (ie, the shite one)) Ibanez RG7420 (7 string) Ibanez S470DX QM Pedals Boss DM-3 Delay Boss MT-2 Metal Zone Distortion Boss PW-10 V-Wah Ibanez DS7 Destortion Amplifiers Marshall MG 15DFX Playing habbits Em... well, I mostly play my own shit now adays. Most impressive thing I can play is probably 43% Burnt by The Dillinger Escape Plan. Only learned the song completely today and taking me a little while to get the song learnt and a whiel longer to get it all set out right. The most impressive thing I've written is a song for Evac which is currently called song 3, as it is our third song and we had to give it a title of some sorts even if it was just a working title. Unfortunately, I can't play it that well, which is very strange considering the fact I wrote it. I just can't get the fucker up to speed. Meh, I suck at guitar anyways.
