  1. Tonight: Gym, curry, beer.

Tomorrow: BrewDog AGM at the AECC. It will no doubt be a drunken shambles. Must. Pace. Myself.

Sunday: Recovery and footy comeback after injury (coupled with horrendous hangover no doubt). Might have to have a beer after footy.

  2. Cabin In The Woods - Amazing! I highly recommend it to everyone but my advice, go in blind. Don't look it up, avoid all spoilers. I did and honestly don't think I would have enjoyed it a fraction as much if I had known what to expect. Although, I'm going to argue with myself here, I think with repeated viewings this movie could be even better.

So yeah, go in knowing nothing to enjoy it more then watch it again with the knowledge of what's happening and enjoy it even more.

    Yeah, that doesn't make sense.

    Anyway, go see it!!

Saw it last night too. Loved it. Well worth a watch, especially the last half hour or so.

Quite a clever film and pretty funny in places too.

    Go see!

  3. The way it's all going is, the yank will get the club, go to liquidation, the SPL/SFA will bottle punting Rangers into Division 3 and will dock them 10/15 points for the next two/three seasons, no changes will happen at all and Scottish football will carry on descending into obscurity.

If a newco Rangers stay in the premier league I'm done with Scottish football (along with a massive majority of others I would imagine).

This has to be the time to totally overhaul all the leagues and voting system, otherwise Scottish football is finished.

  4. Tonight: Playing football / a few beers / early night.

Tomorrow: Up early doors to drive to Hampden to watch the Dons tear shit up. Back home and straight to the pub.

Sunday: Recovery from inevitable hangover / play football (badly) / back to the pub as I have Monday off. BOOM.

  5. This city needs a Japanese takeaway. I'd love to just be able to order some ramen or bento whenever I felt like it. Ah well Ichiban caters for my needs perfectly. Just need to get a job in Glasgow! Yorokobi does takeaway but it's almost exclusively sushi.

I'm sure that Oryza sushi place does take away, never tried it though.

You can also order from Yatai (can't wait till their restaurant opens again).

I agree though, we need more Japanese takeaway.

  6. I had some Brooklyn Lager for the first time ever last week. It's now my favourite beer.

    Quality stuff.

Goose island is cracking too from the states, you can get it in tesco.

I'm off to a seven course beer dinner tonight.... should be fun.... tomorrow will not I fear.

  7. I wish the game wasn't on so early on Saturday. I have a feeling I wont be in the best of spirits for it.

I'm driving so at least I'll not be hungover.... I normally need a drink to watch the Dons though, this will be a new experience.

If anyone needs a lift by the way I have a spare spot in the car as Gumpy is no longer coming to the game.

  8. statistically they are almost identical. only difference is that the Galaxy doesn't have bluetooth (although who still uses bluetooth?)

*waits for Chris to post a link to some obscure geek blog detailing how the iPhone is "FAR superior"

My Galaxy S2 has bluetooth.... not that i've ever used it.

    Edit: Beaten to it....

  9. They play at the nib Stadium (sponsored by an insurance company) as opposed to our cricket ground (the WACA).

And aye, it's really strange to watch football in the heat. I still prefer the atmosphere at a Dons game like.

Ah, different place to the last time I was over then! Where is the nib Stadium?

Sadly there has been no atmosphere at Dons games for about 3 seasons now.... heartbreaking. :(

  10. My glorious Perth knocked three past Melbourne Heart yesterday, all scored by the same player, fucking yes. Going to watch us pump seven shades of shite out of Wellington Phoenix next week with any luck!

Do the 'Glory still play at the cricket ground?

Not been along for a few years. It's strange sitting in shorts and t-shirt and drinking beer at the footy.

Still not a patch on Pittodrie mind you.

  11. Shattered. This weekend killed me.

Friday: Got a bit too shitfaced on too many BrewDog beers (a few at 10%) and some whisky. Urggghhhh.

Saturday: Felt like bollocks, went up to the folks and had a curry, much better.

Sunday: Played two full games of football and a game of squash, I can barely walk today. And I am playing footy again tonight.

  12. Quiet one tonight, might go for a beer.

Saturday: Some diy nonsense I've been putting off for months then maybe go watch Scotland get pumped at rugby.

Sunday: Meant to be playing 7s but my ankle is still fucked. Might just play in goals.

    In summary: Shite weekend ahead.

  13. Adam makes the point above that competition is healthy - I agree. I'm just saying that it's all fine and well as an Aberdeen supporter to sit there and call the old firm all the cunts under the sun, but IF Aberdeen had gone from strength to strength at the end of the 80s and had the ability to push on money-wise like the old firm did, I am 100% convinced that they would have gone for it, the same as any other club in the league would have done.

That's part of the problem.... most of the teams in the league DID try to compete with Rangers and Celtic in the early 90s by splashing loads of cash they didn't have. Hence the money troubles at Aberdeen, Motherwell, Dundee Utd, Kilmarnock etc etc.

Hearts tried it more recently and look at the state of them now... surely only a matter of time before they too are tatties.

The old firm have bled the Scottish game dry for their own benefit.

As mentioned previously, they've brought barely any young talent through instead raping and pillaging every other team for their best players (often for terrible money) thus making everyone weaker. Easy to do when you are rolling in it though.

  14. Rangers won the league 9 times in a row at one point. Nobody outside the old firm has won the league in the last 26 years. Ours is not a league famed for a high level of competition!

The whole league is set up for domination by the old firm. The TV deal is pretty much all for them. The voting structure is a joke too.

Something needs to change, Rangers plight gives us that chance.

Fuck em I say.... what difference does it make if our shit football isn't on tv?Might encourage people to get off their lazy asses and get along to the game.

Will also encourage clubs to concentrate on young talent.

The old firm have completely ruined Scottish football and strangled it to death.

The English league will collapse soon enough too, too much unsustainable debt. Football in general is in a sorry state.
