ooo. i love that random organ thing at 0.57 its great. another a peach stripey. also check out this electronica song i did a year ago, the recordings ruff but i quite like it. its called 'reverse1' www.purevolume.com/littlehammer
  2. woh whats wrong with the word minimalist? explain... might be food for thought.
  3. woh i totally love it. best piece so far out of all the stuff you've put up. superb.
  4. cheers. i've put that track up reverse1. i've always wanted to do the electronica thing cause i love drum beats, its fasinating stuff, im just too lazy too write songs too much effort. i guess thats why i appreciate artists who dwel in the genre.
  5. thanks thats probably the only feedback i've got that agrees with the simpleness. its funny, i wrote the untitled one (its untitled because i cant think of title.. im so rubbish) in a couple of days maybe with a slight bit of development over months, while cellar door took much longer to write because i was stressing over strumming patterns and repatitiveness etc and finding parts to develop the song onwards. see the name of the song has been changing, i guess im still not happy with it. i wrote it after seeing donnie darko at the cinema in the belmont, well at least it started there. hence the cheesy title. ack im sure i'll find a better one to describe what the song means to me...
  6. ok i stuck another track up, not very well recorded but still sounds ok. its just to see whether people think of this as acceptable music really, and whether or not they are 'feelin' it.
  7. well the pint is theres no vocals, the vocals are the guitar i'd like to think... we record using daves digital 8 track then cool edit pro 2 to edit, its is quiet huh. we havn't done much with it because i've never thought i wanted much more to it, i just wish it sounded like when i play it live, much more atmospheric. i put some tremelo keyboard that went through my amp too along with some faint clicks and a bit of doubled guitar, i'll explore the drum rolls part. i've always thought minimal drums would be quite nice with my music. cheers for the feedback.
  8. hey just thought i'd stick a song of mine as i've been working on some songs for a while. just wondering what people would think of it. its not that well produced as neither me or dave know what we are looking for and we don't have the experience either. im not sure how to describe it so i put the three genres alternative, ambient and progressive. its just reverbed guitar by its self at the mo, i find its sounds quite nice alone. i guess it sounds a lot better played live... http://www.purevolume.com/littlehammer

  11. jesus. i hate how i cant just say 'jesus' in response to this message. come on 8 FUCKING CHARACTERS.
  12. my god im so excited. people have mentioned oh i'll just tell someone and they'll get you a ticket... but im not sure if this is going to happen....
  13. yeh i have this habbit of putting the same artist twice on a compilation. sometimes i feel if i've put one song on its twin must also go on... to complement the other, but obviously not one after the other. that would defeat the purpose. i've yet to make a decent one for myself because i go through to many phases. plus im constantly making cd's for my girlfriend. think i'll make one for relaxing to, its been ruff these last few days. i'll post it if i finish it.
  14. well done to chris for buying the first ep at the launch, we sould have taken a picture as it passed from my hand to his... boy oh boy
  15. yeh then first band were alrite. didnt really like murrays band im afraid. i guess they werent really my kind of music, theres still that hint of scottishness in the drum beats/strumming the guitar. i cant stand that im afraid but im sure its good for some people.
  16. as im going to the lemon tree anyway think i will pop along to see this... what makes you think this will sound any different than other music in aberdeen??
  17. Nice point. but sometimes i think its supposed to be in your head rather than through your eyes. a bit of nice lighting, someone staring at their shoes, ambient music... you've got yourself a nice gig i think.
  18. sorry i just didnt find it funny. didnt mean to sound too harsh, just thought it wasnt that funny. does look like a damn interesting site, what payment types do they take?
  19. god what a throw away comment. ill unregister that i read that... shish
  20. woh 42 already. excellent. i cant believe people want to go those other gigs, even if they are free.
  21. anyone seen that advert with the horses and the BMW i think its pretty cool, soundtrack is ok i guess but the adverts nice... just thought id mention it because the soundtrack was kinda 'electronica'. i heard boards of canada in the background of an itv advert for a documentry on bullying. cool... i think.
