Southgate is ITV's version of Alan Shearer, perfectly nice but fucking dreadfully dull. Carragher is so bad it's hilarious, Beglin is a terrible co-commentator as well and their other commentator Peter Drury is as bad as Tyldesley. Chiles used to be quite good on MOTD 2, it suited his deadpan style but he is way out of his depth being the main presenter for live games and always has been since he started. The other problem with half time on ITV is half of it is taken up with ads anyways, I usually switch to BBC 5 live or talksport if that radio prat Alan Green is anywhere to be seen (or heard).

I don't watch much ITV punditry but caught Strachan the other day along with Martinez and didn't think either were too bad - Strachan for the quips and Martinez was as you'd expect very articulate and methodical. But the likes of Southgate, Carragher, Townsend and Keane are beyond woeful. Anyone remember Gazza being a pundit at I think the world cup 1998 or 2002? Think he was pissed all the time but so funny! A cagey affair this between the ruskies and the poles. ok gonna give some ITV half time punditry a blast - I shall throw my stress ball at Adrian Chiles punchable little pasty face. oh its Carragher, Keane and Southgate doing the half time analysis!

apparently the trouble has been in the city centre and there is a better atmosphere nearer to the ground, I would say the hooligans aren't actually going to the game but are hell bent on causing trouble.

I bloody loved Shevchenko bagging that double, he just had a rough time in England with injuries and the massive price tag but he still got it, they're on the ropes a bit now mind, he's just been taken off. The bloody useless BBC commentary team of Pearce and Keown were just spouting how England have 'nothing to fear' (that fucking annoying modern football cliché) from either of the teams. I think it could be a tight group. Only saw the second half of the England match and yes they did look organized and defended very well. Thought the ref was pretty poor but at least he never sent anyone off.

Torres is just an easy target now he looked a bit lively in places but is just lacking in confidence. He might surprise the critics over the course of the tournament. Be afraid, no doubt ITV will be wheeling out Roy Keane and that most Irish of Irishmen Andy Townsend for the Ireland game... am escaping the pre match shiteness by listening to some punk classics with Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music! Hopefully be an open game tonight, getting three points for either team would be a massive bonus given this afternoon's result.

oh bloody nora both games on ITV today, I have noticed they got Roberto Martinez in as a pundit, he should be on the beeb, far too good for that hapless channel I would think! Really hope the Irish can get something out the game against Croatia, I think they can!

don't get me started on Tyldesley, an absolute joke of a commentator yet he is ITV's number one! That channel really should not be allowed near football matches full stop. On the plus side for you English hating Scots supporters, England nearly always do terrible when on ITV! The Germans didn't play well but still won, sign of a good team.

After a hard week at royal mail am happy to be home, got some German beer and bratwurst sausages in and well looking forward to tonight's games and even better it is an ITV free zone tonight. So no Chiles or Southgate or Townsend or fucking Keane to put up with. My new fave pundit Clarence Seedorf should be about and I think they have roped Jurgan Klinsmann in on the beeb. Why do ITV bother they just haven't a clue how to present football matches. If Jim Beglin is the best they can do as a co-commentator that sums it up. Meanwhile on the PC inbetween checking this board I am going to play the Euro Championship 2028 as manager of England on FM. its on home soil as well so nae pressure! Sorted!
