  1. Motty is ok I guess. I mean we probably moan about English folk more than they mention 1966.
  2. Read 'Things Snowball' by Rich Hall; he describes Aberdeen/Dundee in perfect glorious detail. It is a work of complete genius.
  3. The boy's an absolute fanny. Great 'icon' that the NME readers voted for. They are also fannies.
  4. Already done; http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35486
  5. It looks to me to be a spoof in the vein of Brass Eye etc.
  6. That's just plain wrong. If that ain't an April fools, then I think your man from Police Academy has a rival.
  7. The Mode 4, tried it and loved it.
  8. Gordon MacNamara Anderson Pressley Webster Naysmith Burke Hartley Fletcher Maloney Boyd or MacFadden
  9. That'll give Barry Ferguson a scare, put Hartley in midfield with Fletcher, with Maloney and Burke, that wee crocked ned ain't gonna get a chance. Macfadden, Boyd, Miller, O'Connor, Riordan, we've actually got options up front too. bunch of decent defenders too. Teale, McCulloch, Murty didn't do too badly but don't think we'd miss them.
  10. Yeah it's nothing particularly special, the hardware's a bit fancy too, can't mind what the difference is...
  11. I signed up for any tickets, mainly hoping to see Muse and sort of Snow Patrol, instead I get to see Pink, Sugababes and pretty much the whole of NME. BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shouldn't complain though, I suppose it'll be an alright day. Unless it pisses down. In Dundee. Listening to Keane. I think I might become a danger to myself.
  12. I think the obvious answer is the Sega Mega-Drive.
  13. Yes. As someone said; "As long as we get Leeds or Wolves in the world cup final, we're laughing". It's all very well being fast, and scoring goals for Southampton reserves, but it's not quite the same as the World Cup. In the first round England are playing against Larsson and Ibrahimovich, both who are scoring and playing at the highest level for Barcelona and Juventus, respectively first in their leagues and two of the biggest teams in the world. Theo Walcott has not made a single appearance for Arsenal. He only scored 4 league goals for SOUTHAMPTON.

  15. Haha yeah and Jurassic park music for the espace/safari park escapade. Top Gear is unbelievably well made.
  16. Dougie Vipond?! The Adventure Show?? I don't want to see some drumming berk who is also the worst thing to happen to Scottish Football broadcasting history (except Scotsport) introducing some extreme ironing in the outer hebrides or some such rubbish. Thankfully the BBC has decided to stream Top Gear from the BBC2 homepage. I was therefore able to see the genius that consists of Richard Hammond with a paper bag over his head; a tea party featuring rock legends, football legends, comedy legends and of course Well Spoken Man; Stig driving a half million pound car into a tyre wall only for the company to apologise and offer to improve the car; and three marvellous men doing sacreligious things to a Renault Espace. The year is improving...
  17. If Rooney ain't fit by the start of the tournament, they can call in Defoe 24 hours before it starts. What I don't understand is why Jenas and Hargreaves yet leave Defoe out? He says that Joe Cole can play as a striker, but England have never played that way before, and going into the biggest tournament in the world without a definite shape is a problem and a half. Of course they have brilliant depth in midfield, I just don't understand why Jenas is in front of Defoe. Walcott and Lennon I'm impressed by, definitely players who opponents will know nothing about and who will be able to come on for the last half hour and put something special into the game. S W-Phillips ain't bad though, would have had him in front of Jenas any day too.
  18. Rockers in Glasgow? Decent venue, looks cool and could be really good. HOWEVER The in house promoter is indeed a cunt. Also the sound is complete fucking bollocks. Everything is totally disorganised. We came from Inverness to play at 9 with two other bands, told to arrive at 6 and sound check at half past, doors were at 8.30. We were standing outside in the fucking freezing until 6.45 when the guy eventually turned up, didn't apologise, hardly spoke to us, then told one band to take their kit in and the rest of us had to stand outside. 45 minutes later, we were allowed inside. We had five minutes to set up cymbals/amps and to get levels. There were no footswitches for the amps that are provided, and whenever you wanted monitors/levels changed, the guy didn't listen. He was a fucking nob. Also, if you are just watching, then the barstaff actually wonder round and ask if you want a drink. I was actually asked 9 times in 30 minutes if i wanted a drink by the same person. NO I DONT WANT A FUCKING DRINK AND I DONT WANT TO COME HERE EVER AGAIN
  19. I like Opeth, but there is no way that Ghost Reveries should be higher than Lateralus. Part of the whole thing with Prog is making an atmosphere and the production and artwork has a lot to do with that. Opeth just doesn't compare.
  20. My verdict on the album; If this is your first Tool album, you're going to be blown away. It's full of the invention and intellgence that no other band has. If you already have Aenima and/or Lateralus (not so much their previous albums), then it's a dissapointment. Aenima was a brilliant album with some faults; Lateralus took all that was good about it and improved on it, taking the musicianship a step further. Still sounded like the same band though. Many people thought 10,000 days would also take a massive stepforward musically, and that they'd make an album that sounded like nothing else. Instead they've made an album that, while undoubtably good, couldn't live up to the expectations. It's like a mixture of the last two albums, it really hasn't got anything new to contribute. The fast drum rolls, the riffs, the vocals; while no other band sounds like this (except of course maybe A Perfect Circle) it all sounds like you've heard it before. I like this album but it's really not going to be on my stereo constantly, unlike Lateralus - 4 years on.
