  1. Thanks to all of you for the advice. I think I'm still gonna avoid shipping my amp just now to save myself some of this hassle. Sounds like the delivery alone is a bit of a minefield. Definitely want to avoid Ebay/Paypal too - fees are steep and the buyer protection has lead to me essentially giving (thankfully less expensive) things away to unscrupulous folks in the past.
  2. Thanks for the advice. I figured it would be expensive, but 40, ouch! I considered Ebay, but have heard so many horror stories about paypal buyer protection that I don't think I'd go there. Then there's the fees!# If I'd know you were selling the Rocker, I might have taken it off you! As it happens I'm selling this stuff to pay off a TH30 I bought a month ago. As for the Ibanez, nope, I still have it. I'm open to offers on this one too.
  3. I'm trying to sell a Marshall head and have had plenty of interest from folk down in England, but nobody here seems to be interested. I'm reluctant to go down this road, as I've heard loads of horror stories about damage (real and alleged) to amps in transit. I also know how much of a pain in the arse some delivery companies can be. I want to avoid my amp being smashed by delivery muppets and/or being ripped off by anybody alledging damage that hasn't been done. Have any of you folks shipped amps that you've sold? Good or bad experiences? Any advice is totally welcome. Alternatively, if anybody here wants to buy it, let me know! Here's the amp too... http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/equipment/65005-fs-marshall-jcm-900-hi-gain-dual-reverb-50w-head.html

  5. This is still for sale, also selling this Ibanez geetar... http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/equipment/64866-fs-ibanez-s570-sol.html
  6. 50watt guitar head, part of the JCM 900 series. This amp was made in 1997. I bought it second hand in the early 2000's. It's been gigged several times and used for rehearsals, but is undamaged. It's never conked out on me, I've never had to have it repaired or modified since I got my hands on it. This a two channel amp - channel B has slightly more gain than A. Both channels have separate reverb and gain settings, but share the same EQ. The footswitch has two controls - channel A/B and reverb on/off. The amp is 50w, which I've found to provide more than enough volume for use in any venue I've played in. Footswitch and soft cover are included. I have a manual too, which I'll throw in if I can find it in time! Otherwise, it is available for free on-line in pdf format. If you're interested, you're welcome to come and try it out. Please message me here, or email to gaunt_paul@yahoo.co.uk 300 o.n.o.
  7. I still have this, I'm open to offers if anybody's interested (PMs please)
  8. Reluctant sale of my Ibanez S570, bought as new around 2001 for between 700-800. Haven't seen many of these going around, especially with this finish. It has been well played and gigged on a few occasions. Despite this it is in good condition - has a few minor scuffs and marks but nothing significant. 400 - includes hard case This is a reluctant sale, only selling this as it's the only way I can fund buying a new amp! More photos are posted here... Gumtree ad Here's link that has some more info about this guitar... 13. I've been a council tenant for a couple of years. Low rent, repairs and maintenance are usually fine, no problems really. Getting a flat's a bit of a lottery as there's so little stock. If you're fussy about where you want to stay, you could be waiting a loooong time. Then again, you might not. Sounds like your mate should speak with someone from Shelter. It's usually quite hard to get evicted unless you don't pay rent or cause serious problems. If he's been screwed over, they'll probably have some good advice.
  14. Can't see DSO crawling out from under their rock, but that would be good for sure - though I prefer "Si Monumentum..." myself. Managed to see Slayer play through Reign In Blood in 2005 (I think). Won't ever need to see them again after that.
  15. I pass the Egarage every week, always wondered what it's all about. I've read that and I'm still not sure.
  16. The ABC2 gig was good. Three hour drive back to Aberdeen through thick fog was pretty strange after that, very appropriate.

  20. Hey P, have you decided what you're gonna do with the RP 7 inches yet?
  21. I've got 4 shoe boxes full of CDR "backup copies" of various records. probably a few hundred discs in there. This is mostly underground black/death metal, plus some punk (anarcho, crust, HC) and various other bits & bobs. I don't need these anymore, so if anyone can collect them all from my house (ashgrove/cornhill area) asap, please do! PM me here and we'll sort something out. If anybody out there has a guitar tuner pedal (preferably a Boss TU2!) that they could swap for this lot, you'll definitely get first dibs!
